Horrible customer service at this location. On February 25th, I ordered a full set of tires through Amazon and scheduled installation at this Mavis location. I initially set the appointment for March 1st, then rescheduled it to February 28th, which Amazon confirmed. According to both Amazon and UPS, the tires were delivered on February 27th and signed for by someone named ALVAREZ. When I arrived on the confirmed date, I checked in for my Amazon appointment. The taller and bigger dude at the front desk immediately said, "We don't have any appointments for today." I showed him my Amazon confirmation, and the UPS delivery confirmation (which he didn't care to look at) for the tires. He repeated that they had no Amazon appointment scheduled for today and that the tires were not there, telling me to "talk to Amazon." I again tried to show him the UPS confirmation, and again he dismissed it without checking. He then asked for my phone number so they could call me "when the tires get there." Meanwhile, another employee checked the system and found my appointment -- but for the following day. I explained that I had rescheduled it to the day before and showed the confirmation. The response I received from the bigger guy was, once again, "Talk to Amazon." I've had a similar issue at another Mavis location, but there, the staff took the time to investigate, locate the tires, and complete the installation the same day. I have no doubt that if the staff at this location had made even a minimal effort, they could have resolved the issue as well. i gave up with these people and I just canceled the entire order through Amazon while standing in the store. I received a refund and purchased my tires elsewhere. To the front desk employee: if basic customer service isn't something you're willing to provide because you hate people, this may not be the right position for you. read more

I want to be fair - Mavis gets the work done quickly and the technicians are capable. However, my recent experiences have seriously damaged my confidence in their integrity. I came in with a slow leak in a tire with only 2,000 miles on it that I'd purchased here 4 months ago. I was immediately told it couldn't be repaired and that I'd need a new tire for $350. When I pushed back and mentioned I had just bought four new tires from them recently, suddenly the story changed to "we totally understand, we'll patch it up and you can be on your way." If the tire was patchable all along, why was replacement the first recommendation? This felt less like an honest assessment and more like testing whether I'd just accept the upsell. This isn't isolated either. On a previous visit, my wife was told she had a serious alignment issue that was "super unsafe." Tesla had just completed routine service with no such concerns flagged. Between these two incidents, it's clear there's a pattern of pushing unnecessary services on customers who might not know better. Quick service means nothing when you can't trust the diagnosis. I understand shops need to make money, but building long-term customer relationships through honest recommendations would serve them far better than what feels like exploiting people's lack of knowledge. To all people with common sense, do not go to Mavis. Mavis is telling people such as myself that they replace things and they do not. I am a victim of Mavis. They told me they replaced my struts. I still having problems. I went to different Mavis' and all of them working together in the same scam said that the problem was Fixed. I took my car to Ammoco to find out that they did nothing Ammoco showed me the struts to prove they were the sam ones on that came with the car. Mavis took me for over $3000. It was too late to make the complaint because time had passed.It had only been a year. I plead with anyone with common sense.Do not take your car to Mavis.They are a ripoff, they are a scam.They buy other places and put their name on it. I am now stuck with another two thousand to twenty five hundred dollar bill. I am so angry that I cannot even walk into the place. If you try to get in touch with the supervisors, they hand you off to some people that do not know anything they smile at you. They make jokes, and then they'd go into the back and do absolutely nothing. If you want something done in Mavis, you must go and stand right next to him or her. And make sure that it is done. If they say, if they tell you, you cannot come in here. Take your car out and drive away as fast as possible. And thank God you didn't get caught in the trap. I did. Mavis sold me tires also, and I kept wondering why the car still did not run, right.I eventually found out that the tires they sold were not the tires for the car. In this world today it is hard to beat trusting, but I still try too.Mavis is a prime example of why anger and frustration with customers and explosive responses are prevalent in the business industry. I say to you again warning to go there.I beg you not to go there and give them business.And if you are giving them business, it is because you have no real money.Or you don't really like your car and you don't care about it. The star rating for them is zero minus zero, minus 02 infinity.And if I had the money and power, I would close every store across the country.For this dishonesty if you try to call the main office, they give you a runaround. I have been waiting 3 hours for oil change. Thanks man, I won't be back anymore. It's not about wait line. I literally see they drove my vehicle into their space and for that much time. The representative also said that it might cost more if my sedan is difficult to get on the lift. I immediately hung up and went to the Mavis in Jersey City. Had a slow leak in one of my tires. Had a long commute ahead. Despite getting there 45 minutes before closing and a few cars still to be serviced Michael at the Desk managed to squeeze me in. The tire needed replacement due to the nail being in the shoulder of the tire. They had the same tire in stock. Quickly replaced and on my way. I've used Mavis for years at home in CT. We towed the car here after an accident and were told the control arm and struts needed to be replaced. They quoted a price, we said we'd come get it and all of a sudden they reduced the price drastically. Fast forward and we get the car back and we can't turn the steering wheel. They must not have test drove it? In any case the Mahwah Mavis is saying it also needs a tie rod and rack and pinion. Another $2000. Worst service I've ever seen, I didn't come in expecting great service but it worse than I could have ever possibly imagined. I dropped of my car at 2:00 pm and was told they were busy and it was going to take 45 minutes for an oil change. Around 4 pm I decided to head back since I didn't get a call saying my car was ready. The mechanic told me multiple times they were taking care of it and my car was almost ready. At 4:30, the mechanic came in and told me they couldn't change my oil since my oil cap was screwed on too tight, 2.5 hours after I dropped it off. That means he was lying to me the whole time when he said they were almost done, it shows that they never even started to change my oil. This place has the worst customer service ever and David, the lead mechanic, is the main reason for this by overbooking their appointments and lying to the customers. If he would have been straight up and honest with me the whole time I would have had no issue at all, it's the lying about the whole thing that pisses me off. read more

Went there for a tire repair. I was in and out in less than a 1/2 hour. They were courteous and friendly. Ample parking is a big plus.

Do yourself a favor and do not get your car serviced here. I love Mavis and will continue to go to other locations, but the North Bergen location consistently misses on service. A one off wouldn't bother me, but I've been here 3x and it's always something. Most recently I dropped my car off for a few things including an oil change. They managed to change the windshield wipers, but forgot about the oil change. How do you replace the wipers but forget about the oil change? They wanted to schedule a follow up to complete the oil change and a few other up-sell items. Not coming back to a location that does 30% of what I originally asked but does a great job of proactively finding sensors to replace. read more

David at the front desk is very professional and will keep you updated with what's going on with your car. While I was out of town my wife and child, who stopped by the cemetery to put flowers on my mama's grave, had some shrapnel lodged in a tire and losing air rapidly. Best tire shop you can go to. I have been here several times, most recently for a simple patch. They ended up having to replace the tire pressure sensor. Cant complain about the price, it was low. Wait time was short, they had plenty of seats and wifi as well. Mike the assistant manager was great and changed the part for me, also pulled a screw from my tire. I've been a customer of this location for many many many years. There has been handful of times I had to bring my car in for emergency visits and non emergency visits. David who's the manager has been so helpful, he always goes above and beyond! Also his staff is great too. The problem with the car is always communicated in layman's terms which I appreciate. I feel like they've been good with pricing too. I recently brought my friend in with her car and they helped her out. This shop provides a sense of community and take pride in their work. I booked an appointment to have two tires replaced. Waited for TWO HOURS when they told me that they couldn't remove the tire from the rim and that I would have to come back the next day so they could actually put the tires on my car. It was annoying to think I had wasted two hours of my night in the waiting room just to drive my car home exactly how I brought it, but I accepted it because I thought these guys know what they're doing and that's just the way it is. The guy promised me they could finish getting the tire off the rim in the morning and I could swing by after work to have the new tires put on my car. When I arrived the next day, I explained the situation to the manager and he said he had no idea what I was talking about and that he doubted he could finish the job in a reasonable amount of time. Without using profane language, I'll just say that the manager was a total "jerk" about it too. Dude should establish better communication between his employees so that they don't make promises they can't follow through on. This place is a total waste of time. read more

Went to the Mavis in Wimauma horrible customer service had to walk out after having no one wait in me after a half hour and it wasn't even busy it was crazy. people were pissed! it was horrible came home tried to call and speak to a manager before posting here but no one even answers!!! then they have the nerve to post a sign stating $149 an hour for labor and they don't even work ! they will never see my money! and to top it off they were referred and I said that in the beginning.... I've been to many dealerships and local shops and they have only ever charged me for the oil change but mavis wants to charge labor for an oil change. That's ridiculous.
