The employees/owners are so kind, upbeat and helpful! They were fun conversationalists and joked with us about needing a basket for our items and how we all go to stores (like Costco) for one item and end up getting a bunch of things. I know this sounds silly, but I get irrationally angry when I can't find the things I'm looking for. My kids know we don't shop at Smiths if we can help it be has nothing makes sense and I can't find what I want. But Lee's makes sense and when I can't find something there is always someone to help. They will even order things to keep in stock for you. I asked for a specific pasta years ago and a few weeks later they had it. They still carry it now! I love the deli and the bakery. Everyone is kind and helpful and everything tastes good. I love the meat department that prepares delicious meals I can take he and cook with no prep. They also always have time to help me find the right type of protein for my meal and are always so kind and happy! I love the man who always tells customers about the good deals or what's coming up on sale. Last year I was told he personally bought holiday treats for the kids so they could have something more than just a candy. He wanted it to be more festive! He makes shopping there feel like home. As do all the friendly employees. And speak of the treats, my kids love finding Buddy and claiming their treat. My 3 year old is shy and usually won't talk to the people at the service desk, but the last few times she was brave and told them where she found Buddy! I get greetings when I come in to the store and I get thank yous or have a nice day when I leave. From any employee, deli, produce--anyone. Very nice people. They have quite the selection. They carry things that you do not find in any other store. (Check out their gourmet chocolates, YUM!) Yeah, their prices are slightly higher than Smith's or Macey's, but it's a good trade off. They have a great artisan bread department. They use a special German oven/bread maker and they send their employees to Germany to the manufacturer to learn how to use it. They have a gelato station at the deli and it is decent gelato. It seems that the one star reviews are the result of a bad manager. Hopefully this store can rectify this situation. Also, there are a few reviews referencing higher prices which I don't understand as everything is increasing in prices and Harmon's is not the only store raising prices on meat. Great place for groceries. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. Instead of taking responsibility, the employee repeatedly told me "it's not our fault," "it's okay," and "this is all we can do." They then tried to send my parents home with a lei that wasn't even the color I ordered. I eventually received a refund and was offered a replacement lei they were trying to sell my parents at full price--an all-white lei that was nothing like what I originally ordered. Very disappointing experience, especially for such an important milestone celebration. I will not be ordering from them again and even though they did what they could, I have a very sad and disappointed daughter.
