Love's Travel Stop #581 - Salina, UT…read more I am very disappointed with the way my friend and I were treated at this location. We stopped at Love's Travel Stop to buy cigarettes and hot dogs. While we were in the store, an employee approached us in front of other customers and employees and falsely accused us of throwing a bag of garbage on the ground near the gas pumps. We told her that we did not do that and asked if she could show us the security camera footage since she claimed she had seen us on camera. We were so confident that we had done nothing wrong that we even told her if the video showed we had thrown the garbage, we would pay any fine and I would personally give the store a $1,000 gift. However, if the video proved we were innocent, we expected an apology. Instead of showing us the footage, the employee became very aggressive, called me a "motherfer," and repeatedly told us to "get the f out" of the store. No customer should ever be spoken to that way, especially after being falsely accused without any evidence. After we left, the store called the police. I would like to thank the responding officers because they were very polite, respectful, and professional. We explained the situation to them and again asked that the store review the security camera footage. We repeated that if the footage showed we were responsible, we would accept full responsibility, pay any fine, and honor our $1,000 offer. If the footage showed we did nothing wrong, then the store should apologize for falsely accusing and verbally abusing us. I hope the store manager or Love's corporate office reviews the security camera footage from June 27, 2026, around 9:50 PM, investigates this incident, and contacts us with an apology. Customers deserve to be treated with respect, not falsely accused and insulted in front of others.

Let's highlight the greatest of moments that we have had just briefly together. Life is grand! Get out and live. The best of the area we have found. The store is highly organized and well set up . This is a room that isn't advertised in 3rd party sites and has to be booked on the property website only - it's something like 50% cheaper than the rooms in the hotel. The room comes with unlimited tea, coffee, and hot chocolate from the General Store/Cafe. We were a bit confused with how it worked since other customers have to pay for drinks, but the clerk assured us we could go whenever to get drinks (which we did multiple times!) While we checked in too late in the day to eat at the deli and left too early in the morning for Chuckwagon's famous lunch boxes, we did hit it up in the morning for breakfast pastries, which according to the cashier are all baked in house (and why we were attracted to them in the first place). We were having trouble deciding between the Kouign Amann and the Chocolate Croissant, eventually deciding on the former, but the cashier tossed us the latter for free! What great service! Chocolate Croissant (Complementary, normally $6) - This is a gorgeous looking croissant, golden brown with a drizzle of sweet chocolate on top, still soft and gooey thanks to being fresh from the oven. It's baked hard, so croissant shards fly everywhere while eating. I'd say it's baked a tad too long, so while extremely flaky, the interior isn't quite as chewy as I'd like. The lamination does look quite good from what I can tell after having some difficulty slicing through with a plastic knife. As is traditional, two chocolate batons are baked inside. (5/5) Kouign Amann w/ Cream ($6) - Again, this pastry has a really hard bake, so almost the entire thing shatters easily, except for the stellar caramelized sugar layer covering the bottom. It's hardened, sticky, and sweet with a great crunch factor. The interior is actually correct for a Kouign Amann, which is really surprising for a small-town bakery. It's not laminated nearly as much as the croissant, and instead seems to be a nice enriched brioche interior, albeit not particularly airy and soft in texture due to the bake. There's a really tangy and somewhat sweet cream cheese frosting that's piped into the center. I'd actually prefer the pastry without this extra flourish, but beggars can't be choosers! (5/5) Both pastries are more of a 4.5/5 due to the bake, but the ingredients and technique (other than bake) seem to be well thought out. We were not expecting much from these baked goods given that the Chuckwagon Deli isn't exactly a specialty bakery, but in the end we were extremely surprised by the quality. I'll definitely be revisiting if I'm ever in town again.

I was looking forward to the quiche based on what I saw on the Yelp pictures but I guess the menu has changed. They only offer breakfast sandwiches now but it's made to order so we got to choose type of eggs and proteins. It did take a bit a time for them to make it so factor that in when planning your visit. The sandwiches were ~$12 each but were pretty filling so perfect for another day of hiking.

It was after 10 p.m. and we had been driving for about twelve hours and had yet more time to go. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and welcoming, the food was good, and the price was more than fair. What, if not those things, is worthy of five stars? The chicken snack wrap I shared with my husband was very good and reminded me that I do miss Arby's but since I don't really ever do fast food, I just do not think about them. When pretty much everything else was closed for miles, this was an oasis in the desert and I hope you have as good an experience there as I did!

There were 2 older women in the kitchen working very fast and efficient it was a long line and the food was fresh and the kitchen was clean. The younger man at the register asked me if I'd like my shake with or without whip cream which I appreciate. I'm so saddened that 2 of my local Arby's have currently closed. So far it's a total of 4 close to me in the past 20 years that have left Illinois and I've read there will be more. A fast food chained I visit often that's 5/10 min away from me closes and currently have to travel over 40 min for an Arby's now. AND THEY JUST brought back the potato cakes lol I will always look forward to the Salina, Utah Arby's on any future road trip.
