Off the beaten path by maybe driving 2 minutes out of my way from the busy intersection off the highway and the bustle of the super busy gas stations around there, this was a quite mirage of sorts. A working air pump, nobody there getting gas but me, a lovely quiet retail space selling snacks and drinks and clean bathrooms, a nice girl working behind the counter. It appears the backside of this station does a big amount of trucking business, but not at the small gas station where I was. So ignore the trucks and drive on over for a less hassled rest stop and gas refill...and don't forget the air pump if you need it.

Pretty standard convenience store prices on everything else, a little inflated but not too bad. Small and simple but a decent little place to stop that gets way less traffic than the Loves.

Last my check engine light came on and and the speedometer went all wonky and every shop I took it to told me it was probably the transmission out and they I should just scrap the car. Finally brought it back here and they found out it was a simple issue with a sensor that was quick and cheap to fix. Was able to keep the car for a long time running well since then with no transmission issues. Have also had an alternator replaced and had some electrical issues fixed. Pricing is always reasonable, the mechanics are kind and willing to walk me through what they are doing as well. The only time they ever made a mistake, I brought it back immediately and they kept working on it, free of charge, until they got to the root of the problem. Kind, straightforward, helpful folks.

My engine light, oil light, and electronic throttle control light all came on and the car wouldn't turn over. We had the Jeep towed to Gary's in Cedar City. In the morning we got a call that the Jeep was good to be picked up. The mechanics laughed at me and told me that I was just out of gas. He said he put $10 of gas in it and that it was running perfectly. I told him that I know for a fact that my Jeep wasn't out of gas and that wasn't the issue. They insisted it was. My step-dad walked out, popped the hood of my Jeep and the first thing he saw was that cables were disconnected and the box that holds my air filter was completely open and my air filter was all crumpled up. These mechanics hadn't even popped my hood despite me being adamant about the fact that I wasn't out of gas. Turns out that Jiffy Lube didn't put my car back together after servicing it before my road trip. The car issues were Jiffy Lube's fault, but the mechanics at Gary's were a complete joke and totally rude. What kind of mechanic doesn't even pop your hood? Do not waste your time or money at this place.

But every so often you find yourself so inconvenienced by a left turn that you just have to gas up for a few cents more. No? Is it just me and my disdain for left turns? Okay, fair enough. So there's not much more to say than that. Every time I go through Cedar City (note: I'm not a local) this Chevron is always a few cents more than the rest of the gang there on 2nd. If you buy into the additives discussion, then you'll get them in the Chevron gas. But for the junk food, the cheaper gas, and what usually amounts to a better turn you may want to cruise up and down and see what the town offers you.
