9 oz sirloin with mashed potatoes

Tried this place again because it's supposed to be better. It's worse. Do not spend your hard earned money there. Spent $70+ for 2 people. Horrible food. Steak is undercooked. Beans are old and funny tasting. My wife's fries taste like oil and have no substance to them. The shrimp bang bang was a mess. 2 or 3 pieces were ok. We didn't finish most of our order. My KC strip was tough and didn't "feel" like a KC strip. I buy whole roasts and cut down at home. This was too large and didn't have the correct texture. Prices are still out of sight for even the correct cuts. I think they are substituting cheap cuts to make more money. Our waitress was polite and seemed new. Only mistake she made was being water instead of our sodas. No big deal. I gave her a tip because it's not her fault the food was substandard It's sad when you cannot get a good meal in your home town in the evenings unless you want Mexican or Italian (pizza). I will never spend another dollar here. My wife's order. Coke, Bang Bang Shrimp Fries My order. Coke Loaded Nachos KC Strip Medium with Mashed Potatoes and Veggies. They added .50 for the gravy when it's supposed to have 2 sides included

Tried the Ribeye. Thin and undercooked for me. Came with two sides - nothing above average. Full bar. Service friedly. Street parking.

Rare kc strip, with delicious Mac n cheese and truffle fries.

Been eating here since it re-opened as Mavericks a couple years ago. The food was really good at first. But quality of steak and service tonight was not what I expect of a steakhouse. We ordered a KC strip Medium Well and a Ribeye medium rare. The KC strip had an overpowering char taste but was actually rare cook inside. The ribeye was cooked well done with some odd rare spots. Over the course of the meal, we were not asked by our server to cut our steaks on delivery to check doneness. And we're never asked how the food or meal was. None of the empty plates from the appetizer or salad course were removed from the table. The portion size was large enough with an appetizer that I could not finish my meal. We were not offered a box, but had to ask for it when the server came back to collect the check. Unfortunately this will be out last visit to our hometown steakhouse.

Food was thrown together an I was supposed to get mixed vegetables. It looks like slop

Booth Creek Wagyu - Searing sous vide steak in beef tallow

Great place to shop for locally sourced beef! The employees are super nice and they give you free…read moresamples to try. A lot of the steaks are pretty pricey, but their chuck roast is very good value (3 ish pounds ranges from 25-45 dollars depending on fat content). You can definitely taste the difference in the meat quality.

I had no idea there is a local wagyu shop in town! Last night Eric R. and I attended a HYPE event…read morehere for a wagyu tasting. Our host Tyler shared the history of wagyu beef in Japan, how it made its way to the U.S., and what is different between the two countries in production. Booth Creek's ranch is located just 20 miles away, so the cattle are raised locally. Marbling content is verified for each cow by a lab in Japan! There are three levels of marbling (silver10-15%, gold 16-25%, platinum 25%+). This is not a quality indicator but is along the lines of USDA's select, choice, prime (though the fat content in wagyu is much higher). The store has frozen cases divided by these levels, as well as a frozen bargain bin (20% off) and fresh cases in the middle of the store. The tasting began with beef charcuterie boards: jerky, jalapeno cheese snack sticks, and summer sausage with some cheeses. Then we were served wagyu meatballs cooked in Cox's BBQ sauce and honey from Booth Creek. The second course was a picanha roast, smoked and sliced like a prime rib. It was really close to the prime rib flavor and texture, but at a much better price point. Lastly, Tyler brought out KC strip steaks (platinum level, seasoned with salt and pepper only) that were sous vide at 127 degrees, and seared them on a flat top in beef tallow. After he let them rest for five minutes, he sliced them and we got to try them. They were incredibly juicy and tender, seasoned well. It makes me consider the sous vide method at home though I do not have the tools right now. They offered some bundles and discounts as they kept the shop open late for us. We ended up buying gold label fajita meat and filet mignon steaks plus a bargain bin silver label filet tips. I cannot believe I have access to locally raised quality wagyu beef here in Manhattan! Beef is definitely what I had for dinner last night!

There was a mysterious macaroni noodle in my green beans, nothing crazy just silly and wanted to share. I wanted to try the cactus blossom again, but I didn't like the dipping sauce. The staff I've interacted with for curbside have been polite and apologetic when things run late. Unfortunately, the curbside to-go experience has been consistently frustrating. On multiple occasions, I've gotten the text notification that my order was ready, arrived within 5-10 minutes, checked in, and still waited 20-30 minutes in my parking spot for the food to be brought out. By the time I get home, everything is barely warm, which really takes away from what should be a good meal. It seems like the restaurant isn't set up well to handle curbside efficiently during busier times--whether it's staffing, coordination, or just prioritizing dine-in over to-go. Until the pickup process gets more reliable, I can't recommend ordering takeout here and choose another spot to-go in the future.
