The room is nice! Except the air conditioner is in the bedroom and it has walls and a door lol the door is a sliding barn door and it doesn't work it slides right back open! Lol and you have to take your dirty linens to the laundry and pick up clean linen!! The kitchen has a sponge but no dish soap to do dishes so you have to purchase a bunch of stuff!! The balcony chairs look like they made it thru a couple hurricanes ! The lady checking us in was so rude and didn't offer up any info we had to ask about the linens and try to get keys for the workout room she was watching TV and wanted to hear this one person on the TV first !! There's one pool for everyone and 2 hot tubs well the kids and their parents take over everything not good there isn't any vending machines for a soda there isn't any kind of bar set up outside at the pool area !! They have 2 floors with an ice machine and we never could get any ice they were empty 6 times we tried and they didn't have anything for us to put ice in we had to purchase something and then couldn't get any ice!! Nice studio. All ocean view and Beach is truly only a few steps outside. They provide towel including beach towels exchange daily which is nicer than having to do laundry. Kitchen is easy. There is no oven so just bring an air fryer. Poolside Grills were handy. All utensils for grill were at the front desk. Pool was always a little crowded considering this is family resort. read more

Front desk totally rude and clueless. Booked a room through booking.com (beware based in Netherlands) and attempted to cancel 4 days in advance. Called hotel and was told I'd have to take it up with booking.com! 45 minutes on the phone with AI agent then live person I was told that the Maverick Hotel will honor a cancellation if given a three day notice. I gave a four day notice through the app on Booking.com and they are still trying to keep the money. It's a lot of BS to go through to get $143 back. All they have done is ensure that I will never stay at their hotel. It's so absolutely unbelievably sad that this is business in America nowadays. Total corruption and apathy at every level. Front desk woman not nice and very dismissive. Blames everything on Booking.com and Booking.com blames everything on the hotel. What an absolute joke. read more

Second time I have stayed at The Maverick Resort and Restaurant...love the staff as they are so friendly and strive to ensure you have a great stay here. Stayed for the week, enjoyed the beach and locale, and relaxed. The room is well appointed and clean along with all of the areas attached to the resort. Sadly...renovations are still going on, although it was not as bad as my last visit when they were doing the balconies. Overall another great stay and I will return again in the future! read more

We were booked via RCI. This place isn't the cleanest but the amazing views make up for anything that's lacking. All rooms are oceanfront. The staff is wonderful...from the front desk to housekeeping- everyone is kind, helpful and knowledgeable. We had everything we needed for the week. The kitchen is stocked with anything you'd need...pots, utensils, dishes, microwave, refrigerator, cutting board, etc. We enjoyed an outdoor movie by the pool. Unfortunately, renovations were complete so we couldn't use the hot tub or grills. read more

Well, we are on Thursday ajd leave Saturday morning. First thing I noticed is that the shower runs VERY WEAK! It has that big sundial and pours out like a "limp hose". In this respect... I have long thick hair and i seriously fear being able to thoroughly wash my hair with VERY weak water pressure! So that means I can't go inbthe pool. I have a young son and I do like to move around in the pool and not be like the people that don't like to get their hair wet.. im an "all in" person! Rooms feel cool if you run the ceiling fan. Otherwise they feel stuffy. Of course. Every room has a street view and an ocean front balcony view, as everyone has mentioned yes, its a plus. If you leave at night and come back a few hours later, expect to have to seriously hunt for a parking space. Of course that can be expected. We are here and the place is packed! Real estate is premium, I'm sure. Here just after Christmas and through until January 1. Our favorite breakfast spot, Adams Egg, was closed due to staffing shortages. Ugh! Sorry to say... a strong shower makes or breaks it for me. This paired woth the climate of the room. Beds were ok. I guess. Pull out mattress leaves a bit to be desired. When I walk out the front door, I get vibes of that Netflix movie about Florida. Well. I think that was more the Kissimmee area though. Just saying. Yup, a "meh" four stars. read more

Perfect location in regards to the beach! Such easy access!! Pool was super small & not many chairs to accommodate but looks like they may be expanding their pool area so that will be great for them. Clean & convenient but EXTREMELY small space! It was perfect for my cousins & I, but I can't imagine having a family or more than 3 people stay here. Good price point, good accommodation & service, and CLEAN! Ooh not to mention, they pick up your trash bags & towels from right outside your door, which I loved!! This is an older Resort located right on Ormond Beach, every room has a view which is great for the sunrises. At first glance it doesn't have the glamorous look of a fancy contemporary resort so if your looking for that there are a few down in Daytona which is just a few miles south. It is well maintained and in good working order, not only that a complete renovation recently as of 2019 and an ongoing replacement project for new furniture/room amenities. The rooms are small hotel size rooms with a queen and full sleeper Sofa so 2 adults 2 kids worked out fine. The rooms have a kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave but no cooking stove, however grills on the pool deck 6 of them to use free. They have game room & awesome pool/hotub with some beach items available. Parking is free but you must get a parking pass which allows them to subject you to a sales pitch for Time Share which I hate. I don't go on vacation to talk to sales people, it's a waste of my precious time, even for 5 minutes. So just say NO sales pitch just give me my key. Not a whole lot for kids in the immediate area so plan on driving at least a few miles for some excitement. The Beach is always awesome though. The Seafood restaurants locally are great but pricey. There is a convenience store right across the street. It was a good stay for our family vacation especially for the discount through Wyndham/RCI so we say yes go for it you won't be disappointed. :-) read more

This was the most enjoyable stay we have had at a hotel in awhile! We went to Ormond Beach for a weekend away and had a horrible experience with the first hotel we booked. Maverick was able to take us in at sudden notice and we were so glad they did! Beautiful room with an awesome view, and you sleep right by the balcony. So calming. Everything was so neat and clean and they even provided us with pool towels for the pool. Pool and jacuzzi were outstanding and wonderful beach access! We will stay here from now on when we come to Ormond Beach! read more

We are glad to hear that Maverick Resort has made improvements to the property and by doing that put the company in a better financial position. Mr. Douglas, president of the board of directors, has been in contact with us and sounds like an honorable and a fiscally responsible leader of the company. For him to come in and do all that he needed to do and be honest about it to the owners is a tough decision and a brave one and one that will serve the company well later on in the public eye. For us, now, though, we want to cancel this ownership and move on with our lives. We must at this point do so. The timeshare is paid off; we have owned it for a long time - since 1989 in fact. We want them to take this back. Sell it again. They will not lose any money here. We are not asking for any refunds for we have used it. We also pledge to pay any costs associated with getting it back in their hands. Mr. Douglas did mention a Deed back committee, yet we have not heard from them. We can't be any more fair about this. We have no idea how much we have paid over the years. We used the timeshare a few times over the years. Often we wanted to trade and only once got our first choice (Orange Lake Country Club). We settled for other vacations because we had to work around school vacations. We wanted to go to Panama City but ended up in Ormond Beach (down the street from Maverick). Once we stayed at Massanutten when we really wanted Hilton Head. We were often disappointed. It was a rare occurrence when we got a place and were excited about it. We traded twice for cruises when we couldn't find any resorts with decent ratings. The Aqua Sun Investments salesmen told us that our primetime red week would get us Hawaii or Manhattan or San Diego or Sedona; not once did that happen. The timeshare we have used occasionally has outlived its usefulness for us and now is a liability. We have retired and are on a fixed income with regular life-bills to pay. My husband has a heart condition and with that diagnosis comes many expensive medical bills and medications. This was not an anticipated event. For many years we have faithfully paid the maintenance fees on time or early and paid any special assessments without complaining. We will not be using it again. It is paid off and we want to be rid of it. read more

We stayed at the Maverick as a RCI exchange, and enjoyed our vacation very much. The customer service received from the front desk was excellent, we requested a different room because we wanted better ocean view and were accommodated right away. Every time we needed something from the front desk the service received was great. The only employee that was rude and unpleasant and could use some training in dealing with customers is the guy in charge of the towels. The unit that we were given appears to have been recently renovated, it had great ocean view. It appears that the resort is undergoing renovation due to damage from a hurricane. Many properties along the beach were really damaged. Overall we had a great time, we walked along the beach for many many miles, and walked everywhere we needed to go, there are plenty of parks, museums, coffee shops, historic places, restaurants along the way. I was so pleased with my recent visit to Maverick Resort. We stayed in #202. The room had been recently renovated and was spotlessly clean! Having direct access to the beach was such a perk....and being able to sit on our balcony with a fabulous unobstructed ocean view was priceless. The price per night was very fair and affordable. The beach was very clean and huge! The water was clear with some great waves for boogie-boarding. Management was wonderful. The pool is very clean and large. Older hotel right on the beach. Our room had a balcony with a view of the ocean. The room had a small kitchen, table with chairs, a couch with a hide a bed, a half wall divide to the double bed next to the balcony. Everything was clean and comfy. The balcony was small but overlooking the ocean. It worked well for me as the kids slept on the hide a bed watching tv at night while I sat listening to the ocean on the balcony. They have a great diner/restaurant downstairs that we ate at for breakfast every morning. I had the biscuits and gravy. My kids had eggs and pancakes while they colored courtesy of the delightful waitstaff. I have been here several times, even cooked thanksgiving dinner in our room. We have been coming to The Maverick for well over 23 years. We've enjoyed our stays tremendously until this year. My father who is an owner of one of their timeshares reserved us a room there a month in advance. We paid for the room and was told we would be in a particular room. However, when we arrived they indicated that check in was 4:00 (even though my daughter and her family rented a room earlier that morning and was able to get into their room immediately. We realized we were an hour and a half early for the 4:00 p.m. check in time, so we stayed in our daughters room until we could get into ours. Nearly 2 1/2 hours later they advise us that the room we were promised was actually already rented to someone else and they were moving us to a different suite. We don't like being on a higher floor due to the possibilities of a fire breaking out, but they moved us to a higher floor and at the very end where there is only parking spaces to look at in addition to the beach. When we told them that we weren't happy about this they informed us that they don't guarantee rooms and sometimes have to move guests around. We will come back, but the people at the front desk are beyond rude, and we didn't appreciate being treated the way we have. They need to hire people who have great public relation skills because the present ones are terrible! read more
