We moved here from Los Angeles.. and for the last 3 months we have driven to Venice, punta gorda, north port and every Mexican spot here in englewood. they were all non fresh food. Mauricio's kitchen IS the best Mexican food here in Southwest florida! The carnitas were fantastic, the lengua and the al pastor were amazing! Mauricio himself is a very good man who treated us with kindness and love. After my gf ate his food she said it gave her hope for the food in this area. To celebrate my sons birthday he wanted some Mexican food and after reading through dozens of reviews of Mexican restaurants I discovered that everyone in this area is absolutely horrible, but... there is this extremely incredible Mexican food truck hidden in this one area and it's called Mauricio's Kitchen. It appears this is run by a husband and his wife. I am so incredibly happy that I found this and read through the reviews. This is a very cute little spot, although is so freaking hot here, almost 100F every day... we decided to eat here and outside. They have shaded picnic tables with umbrellas and we came in the evening around 6pm, so it was probably 91F lol... My family loved their food and I must say, as someone who's worked under some incredible Mexican executive chefs. Damn, my pork, fish and shrimp were flipping amazing!!! Seriously some of the best Mexican food I ever ate. Perfectly seasoned meats, onions wow... perfectly cooked rice. Hands down the best food truck I ever ate at and I had quite a few. If you are looking for authentic Mexican cuisine, you absolutely will not be disappointed coming here and the owners were very kind. Good customer service. Every time I drove by this place it has a bunch of people which is always a good thing. We drove by and saw they had Birria and we decided to stop and WOW, I am so glad we did. It came out piping hot in REAL plates (we dined there). The food was REAL authentic Mexican. My daughter and I both had birria and we were EXTREMELY happy with it. My husband had the Cuban Sandwich. We are always looking for Cuban food in the area and the sandwich was also amazing. They had plenty of bench tables for everyone, lighting and parking. We will definitely be back. Dinner was amazing! We all had quesabirria tacos and they were hot, fresh and flavorful. The surprise that we almost missed out on was the guacamole and chips I ordered at the last moment. The tortilla chips were homemade and piping hot and fresh. Guacamole was perfect, large portion with chunks of avocado. So fresh. We will be going back and soon! read more
