Everyone at the practice except for Ana Gutierrez-Chamberlain, D.C. was absolutely amazing and very professional. The receptionist was very welcoming and the nurses very helpful and easy to talk to. Ana Gutierrez-Chamberlain, D.C. saw both my husband and I, the intake was pretty routine and then we were sent to the different rooms where we got the different therapies. Once I was done with mine, Ana Gutierrez-Chamberlain, D.C. asked me to go to an office with her to speak to me. she started by saying how she doesn't understand why people like me (I am overweight) think that someone like her is going to make me feel better? that it is obvious why my I had pain, she told me to stop sitting around stuffing my face and do something about my weight, she then proceeded on telling me that Alzheimer's is going to be called diabetes III because everyone who has it, brought it upon themselves because of all the sugar and bread they ate.
I was baffled! I was speechless... and when I finally tried to speak she spoke for me by saying "let me guess: oh no I don't sit around eating all day... oh no, I am on a week diet that after a week you are going to get tired of it and stop and continue with all of your old habits. be honest with yourself and when you are ready then I can help you here. if you want you can do 2 sessions a week but it won't help until you help yourself - look at me, I keep myself like this by eating fruit, the people in this office know that they better not offer me any of the crap the reps bring here because it is poison what they bring, and believe it or not I am only going to turn 51 and I don't even look it. now, don't shoot the messenger, I am just telling you the truth". with that, she led me out of the room....
I understand that I am overweight, but there are more professional ways to go about medical advice. but what got me even more irate was the fact that she had the audacity to speak the way she did about those who have Alzheimer's. I grew up in an environment with people with Alzheimer's and it is heartbreaking for those closer to them. she does not have any medical nor professional way of dealing with a patient. I hope that the other chiropractic physicians are nothing like her but I am sure that they have lost 2 patients that were going to be long time patients since what my husband and I have are lifelong injuries.... extremely disappointing and to the practice, that woman is horrible for your practice, horrible horrible horrible! read more
