I had called about my fish that were sick with dropsy and asked what to buy to help improve their tank, to which a worker named Lisa was extremely rude to me on the phone and had cut me off mid conversation and hung up on me. I had went to the store in person and confronted the issue and recorded the entire interaction. Her excuse for being extremely nasty to me was because she "thought I was a child on the phone" and sounded "young" so I wasn't taken seriously. She then apologized to me with no sympathy behind her apology instead she had a smile on her face. I'm disgusted with how this worker handled the situation and behaved. I hope no other customers have to encounter such rude behavior.

I tell our trainers Katie and Nicole all of the time that they are life savers. We brought our puppy here at 1 years old - a small wild, energetic Jack Russell who knew every time I was on a video meeting to bark his head off and embarrass me EVERY TIME! Walks were out of the question since he would pull on the leash to the point he would choke himself... sitting on the deck was a nightmare in our own backyard because he would bark at the wind (yes, the wind), the leaves moving, the birds and obviously the neighbors. Does this sound familiar? I questioned my decision of getting a puppy and then I found Max K9. We did a 3 week Board & Train where I was super hesitant of dropping him off (because no one wants to leave their baby anywhere), but they were so good with sending video progress and pictures and including my husband and I in the process. I joke with everyone that I think they implanted a program into his brain! Lol! The transformation was unreal. We were instantly able to communicate with him and actually go on a walk.. outside in the real world. What a breath of fresh air, literally! We were having trouble trying to help him adjust from living in the south on a large property to living in a one bedroom apartment with cats and a smaller back yard. We were set up with our trainer, Jim, he educated us on how to handle Keiko properly (from basic obedience to different enrichment), build a better bridge of communication and help with his confidence. Our last session Keiko even decided he was going to try one of the obstacles from maximum K9's agility course (no prompting from us) shocking both me and my fiancé. Safe to say Keiko loves Maximum K9 as much as we do . Since our training we have been able to do so much more and get Keiko better involved in our activities (which we know he loves). They also have so many great treats, toys, and training tools for those at varying levels in their store portion.

After a year with my dog , and many failed training programs from other companies not related to this one, I found Amanda with a final desperate attempt to train my dog because I knew there was potential. I had wasted a lot of money and was nervous to begin another program, but after my first call with Amanda I knew this was going to be different. She was encouraging and engaging, asking detailed questions about my dog and her behavior. Our first session began immediately tailored to my dog's needs and within a week I saw improvements. If you know dachshunds, you know how difficult training them can be. Amanda accepted the challenge without hesitation and proved that idea to be wrong, she made the training easy and motivating. She worked with myself to better understand how I can set my dog up for success rather than failure. Two weeks in, my dog was entirely different in the very best way possible. She introduced new techniques and worked with each challenge my dog faced to ensure she overcame it. I cannot say enough good things about the program. Don't waste your time on a basic training program elsewhere. In the end you're only cutting corners that will harm your dog down the road. She showed me that the phrase "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" is NOT true, as long as you don't give up!! I asked every question under the sun at my dog's evaluation, and every answer was the one I was looking for. Additionally, my dog is not an 'easy' dog, he can be standoffish with strangers, but every staff member knew how to approach him without my having to comment, and he settled in really well. I appreciate especially their honesty when I asked if Arlo played with any other dogs - instead of lying to me and saying "of course!" without thinking, they explained to me that he needs to get used to a new environment and that "the play will come." That answer was stellar, and I feel comfortable knowing that staff will give me uncomfortable truths when they are needed rather than sugar coating their answers for a sale. I know my dog well, and their description of his behavior today was on point, I know for a fact that staff was watching him carefully and that makes me happy. I am glad to have a place to bring him now that I no longer work in the industry, it's a huge weight off of my shoulders. As to the reviews stating that the place smells - I have twice walked in during what seemed like rush hour and smelled nothing other than typical 'dog' smell, so I'm not sure what all that is about.
