This was our second time renting from Maui Roadsters. Our first was in 2014. We were set up to drive Lani on this trip. Our drive with Lani ended quickly as the clutch failed. Thankfully, we were only a short distance away in Wailea. Jerome and Yvonne quickly came to our rescue. Yvonne immediately offered us a cash refund but I requested to drive again the next day. We were quickly accommodated and scheduled to drive Mano. The following morning, we met with Yvonne and Jerome. Jerome showed us the part that failed. He had it repaired in two hours. We drove off in Mano and headed for Hana. We had a great trip on a beautiful sunny day! Mano performed flawlessly. I can't praise Jerome and Yvonne enough. They treated us like family. I cannot possibly say enough positive things about our day with 'Mano' from Maui Roadsters. The communication prior to our day was amazing but it hit home how special this was going to be the second we walked up the driveway. The welcome was exquisite with a welcome board and 'Mano' sitting gleaming waiting for us to take them out for a drive. Yvonne and Jérôme were fantastic both explaining the car and providing maps and route suggestions for the day. The documentation process was quick and easy (we had provided all insurances etc. ahead of time) and we were on our way. Mano was very quick to learn and eager to go so before we had even got to the highway we had bonded, the 1600cc air cooled engine revving and popping away as we cruised up 31 towards Kahului. I'll save you the full details of our trip but we took the backroads upcountry, round the back of 37 towards Hana as far as we could. We stopped at Maui wines, Kula lodge, Surfing Goat Dairy, Hookipa beach Park, Mama's Fish Fry and very sadly, back to Maui Roadsters in Kihei. Mano took it all in stride and was a capable on the twisty country roads as they were on the highway. We have rented a number of 'exotic' cars in the past but I have never had such a hard time returning the keys as I did with Mano. Most cars are just metal and plastic but Mano has a soul and gets under your skin. As i'm sure his 'sibling' cars would also. Getting back into our regular hire car was very sad indeed. It was truly a wonderful day out and a memory we will treasure forever. When we come back to Maui this will be a must do again. A few points to consider which Yvonne and Jérôme are very clear about but we experienced them. 1) These are not new cars. Even if you can drive 'stick' these are work. We enjoyed it but others may not. 2) At 6'2'' / closer to 300 than 200 lbs this was a tight fit. I was comfortable but any taller / wider may struggle. 3) When it rains in Maui, it pours and the weather can turn on a dime. The top takes time to put up. We got wet. We got dry. We got wet again.We got dry again in time for dinner. We rolled with it but be prepared (bring towels!) 4) Its a 50's roadster. EVERYTHING on the road is bigger than you and you feel exposed. If you're not comfortable with that, theres a passenger grab handle 5) Every place you park people will want to talk to you and take pictures. 6) As I said above, you have to give it back. It hurts. read more

Wow!! Had the time of my life with little Mano 57, the silver-blue reproduction 1957 Porsche Speedster provided by Maui Roadsters! One of a fleet of 4 beautiful vintage-style Porsches, Mano was an absolute blast to drive through the twisties on the picturesque island of Maui. I spent the day exploring, receiving thumbs up and smiles by everyone I passed ... even provided a photo op for a family of European visitors! Could not have had more fun on my trip and plan to include Maui Roadsters on every future visit. My son and I had a great time driving the Mano around NW-Maui. He got to see what a car with manual transmission is. This was also his first time in a convertible. It rained on us for a little bit so he was my navigator/co-pilot/gps and windshield wiper operator. Yvonne and Jerome are extremely friendly. Yvonne and Jerome were amazing. I booked the Hoku for my wife's birthday, both Yvonne and Jerome answered all my silly little questions and request. Hoku got a lot of looks and was fun to drive around Maui. I was thinking I would be to big for the car but it is roomy. It was a little bit of a workout with being a stick and no power steering but don't let that discourage you from having an amazing time. I cannot speak highly enough about Jerome and Yvonne, and how fun it was to rent the roadsters! My family rented Pele and Mano for my birthday and toured the Upcountry of Maui, at their suggestion. It was absolutely beautiful and the cars were a blast to drive. We got plenty of looks driving down the road in these beautiful cars. Jerome and Yvonne let us know the best places to go! We stopped at Ocean Vodka Distillery which had great views and a fabulous lunch, then went on to the botanical gardens, stopped at Grandmas' coffee house then made our way back through Pa'ia, a little boho surfing town, where we shopped at some cute stores. This is by far the best decision I made for an "excursion" in Maui! We picked up our car at 8:00 am and were greeted with a personalized sign with two of the the most fabulous vehicles waiting for us.
