Jeep related recommendations: * Don't leave your phone in the Jeep after you lock it up at the airport, with the alarm set for 4:45 am, then ask Brian to rescue it, but neglect to give him the passcode he needs to turn it off as it blares that annoying android wake-up tone the next day. (See cons section again.) I am very sorry, Brian. You are a fantastic person for doing everything you did to send me my phone back. * It's a Jeep so expect the turn radius to be less than what you're used to. This is a Jeep thing related to how they construct the suspension. * Pack as light as possible. There was more space than I thought there would be, and we fit all of the stuff we needed, but we would still pack lighter for next time. * Ask Brian for some YouTube videos on how to use the Jeep that you can watch prior to when you rent. This will save you time in the check-in process. * Explore. The vehicle can handle more than you think. Non-Jeep related recommendations: * The coolest place we camped, and the spot where we slept the best, were at the coordinates Brian gave us for Plenty Kiawe. It's huge, awesome, and though you can't swim, listening to the sound of the waves running through the large rocks is incredible. Chatting with the fishing locals, who are the only other people you're likely to run into, was great too. * If you want a place with showers, bathrooms, etc., book the spots as early as possible. * Book the sunrise 60 days ahead of time instead of 2-days. The government only releases 5-spots 2-days ahead of time, and they're impossible to get, even if you're trying to book them right at 7 am. When you rent a specialty car like a Jeep Camper, you rent from the person as much as you rent the vehicle. Brian is a stupendous individual, and he rents an excellent Jeep. A few months before our trip to Maui, my wife, infant, and I looked into housing options. We wanted a 'luxurious experience' during part of the vacation, but what we really yearned for was adventure. At this time in the pandemic, rental car prices were sky-high, and the only way to do Maui on a budget was to camp. In comes my wife with the suggestion to book a pop-up Jeep camper. I didn't need much convincing, and since Jeeps seemed to be in hot demand, we booked through Airbnb. **Hot tip to book through Brian's site since it's cheaper. We didn't know.** In the months leading up to our trip, I called Brian multiple times regarding advice on what we should pack, what we should rent from him, and whether there was anything we couldn't get on the island that we could get on the mainland. (His response was a decent headlamp.) He also sent several emails of his constantly updated Maui camping guide, an invaluable resource for an excellent camping experience. A few days before flying out, we set a time to meet and wished each other the best. My wife and I ended up renting a car for the first couple of days we stayed in an Airbnb, so we didn't end up utilizing the driver he recommended, though it was awesome he had that info to give. Brian himself seemed like an LA dude, turned jeep rental owner. He's been around the block a few times and he gave us tremendous advice on our trip. I wanted to whip out a pad and take notes on all he imparted. The check-in included a walk-through of using the Jeep, the pop-top, and a video inspection of the vehicle. Then, we worked off the logistics of the drop off of the Jeep, and we were off. In short, we had a fantastic time, and though I thoroughly regret leaving my phone in the car, this experience turned me into a 'Jeep person.' Adventure on!

Frank is our Go To guys for rental cars! His cars are older, but very well maintained. I've said it before, but we blend in so well driving an older "local" car than a brand new convertible Mustang or a Jeep. Folks just treat you better, flash their lights to let you make a turn in traffic... Also, I feel so much safer at the beach - we don't look like tourists, so we've got total peace of mind at leaving our car in the parking lot. Pick up and drop off at the airport (OGG Kahului) couldn't be easier. Frank lets you know where the car is parked, you walk to it, pay to exit the parking lot and drive off to your destination (no waiting in line at a rental agency). Returning it is the same, get the parking ticket at the airport lot, park the car in the same area, lock up the key/parking ticket and head into the airport to catch your flight. So easy!!!
