Garden objects on a Sunny early spring day - It was like a magnet to me! Inside I found heaps of gorgeous home furnishings, fine china, vintage wares, tools, art, trinkets and some clothing too. I could spend hours in there simply exploring. I didn't even get to focus on the jewelry in cases at the front desk, but there's always next time. Buyer Beware - Very Disappointing Experience…read more I had a very bad experience with Gavin's Furniture Store on Route 40 in Catonsville. First, my furniture delivery arrived over a month later than I was originally told. During that time, there were no follow-up calls or updates from the store. I had to call twice myself just to get information, and the customer service was poor throughout the entire process. When the furniture finally arrived, the delivery crew damaged my hardwood floor. I didn't notice the damage until I returned home from work, but I contacted my salesperson immediately. Unfortunately, Jonathan was very unprofessional in handling the situation. Although I eventually received an apology, no one took responsibility for the damage. I later spoke with customer service regarding the floor damage, but they continued to go back and forth instead of addressing the issue. My hardwood floors were not damaged before the delivery, and I firmly believe the damage was caused by the delivery team. Despite this, the company has refused to take ownership of the problem. As a result, I plan to pursue the matter further through the Better Business Bureau. Overall, while I like the furniture itself, the poor customer service, lack of communication, and refusal to accept responsibility for the damage make this company difficult to recommend. The furniture is simply not worth the frustration.

Have yet to have a positive experience. They actually seem to go out of their way to be awful. We're a military family, and have purchased furniture all over the world. I've NEVER experienced something as awful as my time with Gavigan's. We've contacted the BBB and are looking at other options. Can I get a swatch? See a swatch? No. Just no. No further explanation or suggestion. No "another store might have it in the showroom," or sorry to keep our prices low we don't do that.
