He was not talking us in or out of any mattress; rather, educating us so we could feel confident with our mattress choice/investment. That's the long and short of it all. I highly recommend this company. The establishment was bright and very spacious, as most furniture stores are; no worries about physical distancing even if there were other people. We were assured that all the displays were sanitized, so we had no reservations about trying out most of the mattresses. Just so happened that my wife and I were the only ones there, so we had David's undivided attention. Really, we never thought to consider all those things that were explained to us. We never felt rushed or that it was hard selling. It was really a friendly discussion based on personal experience. You can tell that he had a passion for it, and that his purpose was to help people find what they needed. We went to Mattress Warehouse, and yea there are salesmen there. These guys were helpful though. The manager asked me questions, he was concerned about ME, and about making sure I was informed to make the right choice. After talking to him, he showed us some recommendations; he gave me a pillow and told me to hang out for a while. We stayed a while, we felt comfortable here, the salesman left us alone to test and try the recommendations. Like an eye doctor we tried this one then the next one. He then was able to direct us to another line, try this one and then this one. We laid there for quite a while trying the different selections. He had us try ones he know would be uncomfortable, too firm...then too soft - just to dial it in. We knew we were being sold, but we needed constructive advice and help with the selection - without any pressure or gimmicks. Mattress selection can be intimidating; it is an investment and a daunting decision. We were very happy with the staff, the sale, the selection and all the help and advice. We felt wanted and comfortable here. They happily helped me load the mattress on my roof to save me a buck. The first thing that's noticeable is "Mom & Pop" atmosphere, but not in appearance. No its in the greeting, the welcome, the smile, the helpfulness, the patience, etc.etc.etc! The thing we appreciate about shopping Yorktowne is they allow you to explore without rushing you OR without feeling as though you're being pounced on before you're barely in the door. I am the daughter and heard the whole conversation on the phone. The last statement made to my father was fu$^ you we will return your money. So, my father and I went back into the store to get the delivery date straight. Anthony was not there that day. It was good day. Dealt with a young man and he helped a lot. New date and paid an extra fee for them to take the old bed away. Finally, the bed was delivered in June 2023. Wrong box spring but the mattress was correct. They would not take the old bed. No credit was given. Called the store and was told to wait 30 days. 3RD time to deliver the bed and it was still wrong. Refused delivery. This time grandson went into the store to get the correct box spring. Paid the fee for delivery. Box spring delivered in Aug 2023. I always thought the customer was right. I will never buy anything at this store. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE. NO RESPECT TO SENIORS. OR NO HOME TRAINING !!!!
