We stopped in here and we are so very glad we did! They offer an excellent variety of quality bed frames, mattresses, chairs, sofas, and more at their Main street location. Their prices are very reasonable they provide local delivery for a small fee. The staff is really friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. There it's no hard sell here, just friendly service. I did not see mattresses costing thousands of dollars, just comfortable quality items at reasonable prices. I urge everyone to give them a try and support a local business that has resided on Main Street for over 20 years. I don't give five stars to anyone, but I was tempted this time. I went into the Mattress outlet this past Friday 11/19/21 looking for a new queen mattress but with everything going on in the country with the high inflation I knew I couldn't get what I wanted. As soon as I walked into the store I was greeted with respect and a handshake. I told Harry about my financial circumstance he quickly showed me two mattresses the first before I could try it said that I wouldn't like this one and when I sat on it whole heartedly agreed but when he showed me the second one, he said you'll like this one and sure enough I did and bought it. Harry and his staff were well above satisfactory when it comes to customer service. Once I get back on my feet financially. I'll be back for some other furniture. I would give less than one star if I could. Purchased recliner ashleigh furniture brand. I broke 6 weeks later. Mattress outlet gave me a hard time and won't service it even if I pay for repair myself . Owner is rude and unruly. He actually seemed like he wanted to start a fight. I spent $826 on this chair that he claimed was on sale. He won't even look at it to get me the parts so I can fix it myself. I recommend to everyone to stay away from this business. read more

The owner Harry was one of the nicest guys I've ever met and definitely went above and beyond for my wife and I. After searching all over for a certain dinning room table and bedroom set we wanted with no luck, Harry definitely came through and found it. It was also the best deal I found by far on both sets. Decided to try the local store and so glad we did. Found a long sofa that I can really stretch out on for 400! They sent two delivery men that even put my old set into my barn so I didn't have to! I purchased a small sofa for $500 at Mattress Outlet in Greenfield. They delivered at the end of the day. That evening the sofa smelled bad but I thought it just needed to 'air-out'. Well, after a week the sofa still smells! It smells like 'formaldehyde' and 'particle board glue'. It's a cheap piece of junk furniture, defective furniture. The smell is so bad I've covered the sofa with plastic, to keep the odor and smell down. I've been back to Mattress Outlet 3 times and they will not help me. The own told me to put bowls of baking soda on the sofa to absorb the smell! DO NOT purchase anything from this store; the products are junk and the customer services is even worse! read more

Went here looking for a bunk bed. I had seen a set at BJ's for $249, but was hoping to avoid the hassle of putting one together myself. Having worked in furniture sales for many years, I was on guard for any tactics of the business but honestly all I really needed for this experience was common sense. The salesman showed me a bunk bed set and surprise it was the exact same set that was sold at BJ's except the trundle on it was visibly broken. To be clear, he was selling the [broken] floor model (although he never let on that this was weird---for example he could have said "I normally sell this for xyz but because it's a floor model and doesnt come with the trundle, I'm selling it for xyz" but he didn't). He never admitted the trundle was broken but just said that it wouldn't be included. The price he quoted was double the price of the same one at BJ's. Then I asked about mattresses. There were mattresses on the bunk bed but they were unwrapped and looked dirty. I was surprised to find that he was trying to sell these, which is illegal if they were in fact used like they appeared. There was also a steep delivery fee and set up fee. Needless to say I bought the bunk bed at BJ's and set it up myself. Also got mattresses there for half the price and they were new in plastic and very comfortable. Never will return. read more

Years ago, bought our king size futon & frame there, plus some add-ons. Shopping for our new bed now--with a softer mattress, and surprised by their *large* collection of mattresses and frames! Small town = higher price? Not at all here. High pressure sales pitches with discounts magically appearing when you start bitching? Not here. What I've gotten each time: a mellow, comfortable environment, a salesman who knows his business, remarkable selection, real competitive prices on the product as well as the delivery services. The reason I've given it 4 stars instead of 5 is two-fold. First, it's got small-town charm inside and that will not appeal to those who prefer a more scrubbed clean aesthetic or the anonymity of online dealings. Second, the frame we bought (the lowest price/quality for a king futon) broke a support post early on. It was a relatively easy fix, at which time I took the liberty of adjusting it to a more sturdy angle and re-enforcing it for my more "ample" frame. Not their fault, but still. read more

I went in several times and the store employee, Matt, straight off gave me the creeps. He refused to bargain and instead did a little trick with the tags, showing me the "original price" and then saying he could give me 10% off that (650.00 for a truly low-end couch) but not the 399.00 "sale price." These guys make huge margins on their sales and it was frankly condescending the way he interacted with me. It's highly unusual for an outlet furniture store to flat out refuse to bargain. And after hearing about the violent assault perpetrated by the owner against an elderly man, I certainly won't be returning. read more

I purchased a Gold Bond mattress on 11-11-17 and was told I would get a call to confirm the date of delivery. The first time the moving company came they tore the mattress by sliding it on the floor of the truck and had to return it to the store. On December 1 they brought the second mattress, and I gave them the balance of what I owed. When I began using it I was sickened by the fact that when i went to bed it felt like there were rocks under my buttocks and the bones in my ribs and hips. Thinking that was because it was new I'd give it time to settle before calling to tell the store that there was a problem. They told me i should try flipping it - I said it was a reversible mattress and I shouldn't have to do that. Secondly the salesman said i could try a mattress topper to cushion the springs, and I said I shouldn't have to spend more money on something to cover the defect. I didn't hear any more about it, but two men arrived days later to measure if the mattress was level for warranty purposes and denied warranty coverage. It seemed obvious that Mattress Outlet hadn't been listening to my complaint about the springs pushing into me when sitting or lying on the bed. I emailed Gold Bond from their web site about the problem on December 29 and received no reply. A week later I sent a followup email and received no reply. I called Gold Bond's owner and asked how I might rectify the situation. He said that the retailers are responsible for customer problems and that he'd call Mattress Outlet, and he was sure they'd get back to me. Today I got a phone call from one of the men who delivered the mattress telling me I was being sued by his coworker for sexual harassment on the day they checked to find out if the mattress wasn't on the level. That was so ridiculous that I choked and said something like "what! you've got to be kidding me!" He said I told the other guy that I was going to get nude and that he was going to sue me for sexual harassment. He told me he was a witness, he was one of the delivery guys. He said that the owner of Gold Bond Mattresses had approved reimbursement of half the purchase price of the mattress and that they'd be here at 6pm tomorrow to pick it up. I told him I didn't want the money and that they couldn't take the mattress if I hadn't accepted the offer. He said he was giving me a warning that I was going to be sued. There's more to the story but I'm sick of it. All I can say is Buyer Beware. read more

The one star is for their delivery man, Harry. He was exactly what someone in customer service should be like. He was friendly and accommodating. The entire experience with the rest of the sales staff, including the manager, was appalling. Let's just say, you should know the dimensions of your furniture before you purchase a new piece, even if you feel that the store should take that into consideration before trying to deliver things to you. Also, make sure that they try bringing in the new piece of furniture the same way they took the old piece out, especially when the old piece is the same dimensions, or else you'll experience a huge waste of time, with no apologies or bed side mannor. I bought a mattress from this store two years ago and wanted to come back and buy another one of the same type. I made multiple attempts to contact the store, left messages with no return calls. Finally, I got someone on the phone who didn't know much to help me and said that the manager would be returning my call. Two days later, spoke with someone and got the name and product information, and to find out the mattress was in stock. I called back to buy the mattress minutes later, again with no answer and no returned calls. I went into the store that day to just buy and pick up the mattress. The person covering for a lunch had no idea what I was talking about. I expressed my frustration, pointing out what had happened with the unanswered phone calls and the earlier frustration getting help. The person became so upset, swearing at me (f- this), utterly belligerent and would not let me even get a word in. He then refused to even talk to me, and asked me to leave the store. It was utterly humiliating. This person should not have been left in charge of a store to serve customers. I will obviously never go back here, but I hope this review will make someone else think twice about buying stuff here. read more

My Mom went to buy me a new mattress and box spring here (I now live out of town), and I sent her with a photo of the tag and written description of what I wanted - what we had bought at the Brattleboro store before it closed. The people in Greenfield sold her a different mattress that is supposedly the newer version and comparable, but it is so uncomfortable that I ended up sleeping on the couch instead. The mattress is much firmer with much less padding, and is not designed for people who sleep how I do. When we called, they said that it can take time to "break the bed in" and that it was the same as the other bed... From the moment I lay down on the other bed (that the new one is supposed to be comparable to) in the store it was the most comfortable bed I have ever been in - there was no waiting or breaking in period with it. Mattress Outlet won't take to bed back, so we are stuck with it, but we definitely won't be coming back for any advice, products, or service. read more
