I dealt with Neall and I had an OK experience definitely a salesman. I needed a new mattress and I believe he cut the cost. I guess the best he could it was over $2000 on a Stearns and foster. I asked if he could throw in some pillows I did not expect the cheapest $20 pillows that you have to basically destroy with scissors in order to open them if you're buying an over $2500 mattress then do better it's actually embarrassing read more

If you read my previous review they are a great company and did return my previous beds . However, this review is not about the company , it's about the memory foam bed smell . I actually got rid of our $3,000 bed due to the strong chemical Smell of Formaldehyde that would not go away ! There's a process where companies have to make the beds flame retardants and some law was past years ago . Now we sleep in these chemicals that harm our bodies . I wish they told me about this before I bought it .. the smell subsided a little bit I could still smell it along with the memory foam pillows ... I will admit , it was a comfortable bed and I slept great but I just don't feel safe sleeping with a strong nail polish remover smell every night . read more

First let me say this is a Diamond in the hiding. Selection is amazing. Absolutely great selection from low end to ultra high end. Quiet area. Great prices. The thing that turned us on to a solid "no brainer" was the fact that the owner, Neal Jackson, simply showed us options - gave us information on every item we asked - and NEVER pushed us to buy anything. He always said he will get us what WE wanted. He wasn't there to make a "sale" like other companies are. And to top it off, everything we purchased was locally made in NC. local company - local business. We ended up buying 4 beds from Neal and I cannot say anything less than GO SEE NEAL!! To give y'all an idea of his quality of merchandise - this is the first time in 10 years I have awoke to no back pain, no hip pain and an able to actually not drag in bed for 40 minutes before I get out. If I could give him 10 stars - I WOULD!! Go see Neal - you will thank me later!! read more

Bought a Box Spring & Mattress at the Cornelius Store, let them know my what I wanted and the price range found several potential set ups and then shopped around. These guys were the most competitive even before set-up and take away of the pieces I had. Sold me what I needed, gave me a competitive price, made sure I was going to get what I wanted. (sure they tried to oversell somewhat but that is their job). Delivered when they said it would be delivered, the delivery guys were professional, friendly and efficient. Got in, got out, took the old stuff ,,,,done. I will shop there again in a heart beat. Neal & Team do a great job at a competitive price. read more

great experience. would recommend them to anyone. we went to a few other national chains and hate the car dealership vibe, but the attitude here is so relaxed. felt we got a decent price with free delivery and set up. no regrets....so far (haha!) read more

I've have known Neal for several years from my side of the business equation. There are 20 mattress stores within 10 miles of our home and when it came time to replace a mattress, Neal was the first to come to mind. I tend to like to ask questions and each one was answered based upon his experience. We narrowed it down to two choices and the choice was either firm or plush. I've always went plush... Neal actually suggested the firm and explained to me why. We drove 25+ miles to Cornelius, as soon as we sat on the beds... Neal was 100% correct.. the firm was the bedding choice. Never having a hybrid mattress prior... we were explained thoroughly the differences. My point being... by Neal going above and beyond typical retail chain places where hourly employees don't listen to your needs and go off mainly price points.. he took the time and gave us his opinion... glad I listened.. the Sealy Hybrid is by far the most comfortable mattress I have yet to own. The delivery guys were awesome as well, prompt, friendly and actually chatted a bit which set up a cool experience. I am in sales and the overall buying was such a refreshing change. Thanks Neal and the Mattress Express crew!! Kiddos read more

My family has been buying from Mattress Express for several years and have had a wonderful experience every time! They are a family run business and have a great, no hassle business model and are very knowledgeable and helpful. I rather support a local business than a big box store. I highly recommend them and can't say enough about the ease of purchasing, quick delivery and professional set up. You won't be disappointed! read more

Bought a second mattress at the Cornelius location... first one was three years ago at the Mooresville shop. Both Stearn's and Foster, both perfect with no complaints -- so far! Got a Reserve II Set this time.. WHOLLY NAP TIME --- it is the best bed ever! A bit more coin than the first, an Estate.. but worth every penny. Worked with Andrea and Neil this time. They were friendly, helpful, and worked with us to get what WE wanted. Of course a biz and wanting to make money and profit, I totally approve and agree, but made it a good experience for us both. Local business, so money stays local, They buy a lot from factory so beds are made by Stearns and Foster in NC.. a win everywhere for the GREATEST State in the Nation! -- Gotta love that (Hey I was born here.. gotta throw that in..). But to top off all the goodness so far, delivery guys are the best! Some have worked for Matt. Exp. for years, Super fast, careful and professional. Best customer service around! I recommend, I approve and if I needed 10 beds, I would buy them here.. but all set up for now! read more

Bought a sealy mattress from this company just over a year later the mattress began to dip in one area. When I contacted the owner of the store he completely denied to do anything, but still came out to double check what was going on. Even after doing that and seeing that issue he claimed it as a comfort problem not a mattress defect even though it was only that one area it began to sink. (left side of mattress) This company does not stand behind their products and had use spend another $40 (that we really did not have to begin with) to see if it would help that mattress which it did not. He told me to take it up with Sealy themselves but when I went to do so I discovered and remembered the the tags that are SUPPOSED to be on the mattress were not their because the delivery guys must have torn them off! DEFINITELY do not recommend them! We ended up going to a different mattress store and getting a great deal on a iserta (love it!) and had to use our wedding money to do so. read more

I Bought a sealy mattress from Mattress Express just over a year and a half later the mattress lost all support and caused excruciating back pain every night. When I contacted the owner of the store he came out to 'measure' the bed. Even after doing that he claimed that the mattress did not meet warranty standards and claimed it is a comfort problem not a mattress defect, he didn't feel the bed, put any pressure on the springs or in any way try to determine the problem all he wanted to do is 'measure'. He did not stand by the product his company sold in any way and was not an advocate for me with his vendors. In fact the owner was extremely confrontational and not at all professional especially when I told him that I was going to share my experience with other potential customers on line and that I would not recommend his company. The money I threw away on a mattress was upsetting enough, but the worst part of this whole experience was the utter lack of compassion or understanding for me their former customer and my experience. He was only interested in defending his position, passing the blame, all with a very aggressive and condescending manner of communication. The sales associates are very nice at this store and did have some compassion for my situation, however, if there is a problem you will be dealing with the owner. This company does not stand behind their products and will not be an advocate for you with Sealy. The owner told me to take it up with Sealy myself, as there was nothing he could do or was willing to do. Long story short find another company do do business with like Sleep Number near Northlake Mall, the associate that I dealt with Corey was extremely professional, informative, and a pleasure to work with. I am looking forward to finally having a good night sleep when my new bed arrives! What a difference in professionalism!! read more
