Akin is the best. Based on Yelp reviews and elsewhere, we started our search for a new bed at his store. He has a wide selection of mattresses and frames in the store, at various price points. He took time to listen to us about what we were looking for and suggested starting with three different mattress brands. We spent a lot of time trying out various beds, and at the end of the day, compromised between us. I wanted something softer, my partner wanted more firm. So we settled in the middle and put in our order. Akin was very responsive and patient. He kept us in the loop about delivery and dates. When the day came, he and his assistant made the delivery, and set everything up. After sleeping on the bed few weeks, it seemed more firm than we wanted, so we gave Akin a call. He was very gracious, as always, and we agreed to test the bed for several more weeks. Ultimately, we did decide to exchange the bed and frame (which we had only seen in a catalog). Akin was great. We went back to the store and chose a bed that we thought would be better for us. Akin was wonderful and made the whole transaction seamless, and even figured out how to make a few adjustments to our order to save money. We are beyond thrilled with the bed and frame now. My adult daughter and I were both in need of new mattresses. We did our research and thought we knew which brand we wanted. Then we searched for where to find it and found Mattress Barn. Fairfield was close. We were in heaven when we walked through the door. Rick was fabulous. I have a very fragile back and my daughter has issues with hers. Rick knew right where to begin to look. I ended up buying the first mattress that he had me try and my daughter bought the second. For her it was a hard choice. We also ended up getting pillows that have been a godsend. The first night we slept on our new mattresses with our new pillows was a night from heaven. My 30 pound dog loves making the bed with me and the cat sleeps all day on my daughter's bed with his toy. Kris and Akin are amazing! My back hurt so bad I thought I was going to be unable to walk anymore. I walked into Mattress Barn, Kris greeted me, I sighed very deeply, and she sprang into action! We tried about 7 different mattresses, but I kept going back to the one that I eventually bought. (It was the black Helix mattress by the window!) My wife and I stayed at an AirBnB and fell in love with a Tuft and Needle mattress, but it had been a couple of years after and we wanted to see if we still loved it as much. We came here because it was the only shop in the Bay that had a model on the floor to try. When we got there Rick was quick to help out and showed us the Tuft and Needle mattress and we hated it! He told us it might have been a different model that we loved, but he was happy to show us all the other mattresses. We went around and tried tons, they have so many different styles! So it was time for me to get a new bed, I went shopping at another place 2 months ago, that said everything will be ready and be delivered by first week of Oct. So I waited and after many delivery attempts with incomplete items, I was fed up and decided to cancel the whole transaction. I looked through Yelp to find businesses that were more local and reliable and found Mattress Barn. I figured that I should try my luck with buying from a smaller business. Last week I walked in, told Rick what I wanted and he showed me a few mattresses to try. The second mattress I sat on was the winner. I added a bunky board, two dreamy pillows and a mattress protector and was done in less than an hour. "So what are you going to do after this?" Rick asked. " I don't know, I thought finding the right mattress was going to take the whole day but you made it so easy," I laughed, "I'm glad I came here first!" Although the business isn't one of those mega square foot inventory filled establishments, it's family owned and has a friendly environment, with an adorable black cat. Rick was so helpful, he still took the time to tell me about the products even if I already made my mind up to purchase them. He said due to covid, the mattress was probably going to take about 2 weeks, and so I waited before writing a review. Yesterday they called me to set up a delivery time for today. "I thought it was 2 weeks," I said to Joe, the delivery guy. "Yeah,we have your bed ready in less than a week, we were surprised too." He said. Delivery went smoothly. So while I like shopping local, I don't appreciate the exaggerated mark up of furniture (a place that rhymes with Smashley come to mind). So I had an idea of what I wanted to spend for a big girl bed for my daughter. I went a few place near by and they wanted about $100 above my budget and they didn't have that good of a selection. I came to Mattress Barn because I noticed it as I left the other place. I saw the amazing reviews so I decided to come in. Rick was helping another customer but acknowledged me and told me he'd be with me shortly. In the meantime, I asked him for a tape measure to make sure the headboard wasn't too high. He gave me one. When he was done he came over to assist me he was extremely helpful and all of their items were clearly marked with the price. We chatted while we did the paper work which was very simple and he worked with me regarding if I would need delivery or not (of which I wasn't sure). I was able to get a friend to bring there truck over to pick it up the next day and another gentleman helped us load it up. I assembled the bed in about 30 min. Easy peasy. This was a wonderful experience. Also they had a cool interactive screen for looking up furniture. Lots of options. Should I need any furniture in the future I will come to them first. read more

So was a little nervous after reading a couple really bad reviews but overall they were positive so I decided to check them out. It was a lot smaller "barn" than I thought it would be but hey I had just come from Ashley Furniture where it was so big I got lost. Maybe it was just me :) Someone greeted us right away and started showing us mattresses based on our needs. We walked out of there less than 30 minutes later with a CA King mattress and a complete double bed set with frame, rails, box spring and mattress for 1300. This included delivery and haul away of old stuff. It was quick and easy and really affordable. Ashley Furniture quoted me 2k for a mattress vs the 800 I paid here and they were basically same quality. Overall Ashley was 1k higher than Mattress Barn for everything I bought. I also asked his opinion on several other places in the area because I wanted a sofa sleeper. He told me to pass on a few and then suggested Three Brothers Furniture in Vallejo. I skipped hours of looking at a bunch of places and I went straight there based on his recommendation. I left 3Bros 30 minutes later with a 950 sleeper sofa. Right on! My shopping was done and he didn't steer me wrong. I was really impressed with the ease of purchase and good value I received from Mattress Barn. OK, my things haven't actually been delivered yet and I haven't slept on it but if something goes horribly wrong I will let you know. We went back to Mattress barn for these few reasons: - customer service is sincere, informing and honest. Akin, the owner, is a true gentleman and knows his products well. - prices are very competitive. We had a cheap mattress for 7 years and this time chose ab organic memory foam with adjustable base. We knew we wanted have a bigger budget and the other two places did not have what we wanted within that price range, comfort, settings. We were ok with waiting a week for order and delivery. Overall, other places have nothing on a family owned local business that truly works with your budget and your requests of a specific mattress.
