This is my go to lazy afternoon burger spot. The 5 alarm burger is one of the best Ive had in st Louis. When Ibwant a buger I want it simple. The key ingrient is High quality meat, cooked medium well with light seasoning. I go for the five alarm because of cooked crispy jalapeños. The house salad is great as well. Now the environment at the florissant location s not classy as it gives off a 80s house party basement vibe. However, when I want aBurger salad and a beer, I want it in a bar like this! I'm not giving it 5 stars only because I have never eaten in the dinning room area because its a little sterile for me. I stop in the bar at least twice a month. If they close, I would probably cry. This is definitely a sports bar. You can tell by all of the tvs. There's not a lit to say about the decor. The service here is average. The food is average too. My server did an okay job. She could have been more attentive. She was very nice. But I had to ask for more water several times. The spinach artichoke was very good. I was skeptical as I've had very good and bad spinach artichoke dip. But I decided to try some here and was pleasantly surprised. The wings came out cold. The pizza was burnt. The mushroom were good. Ordered a salad and chicken strips, waited 45 minutes and when I got home the chicken strips were com inedible, beyond burned. Tried calling and got a full voicemail and no response. It was one of the last decent spots in Florissant but has gone down hill. Very poor food quality and service is also poor. read more

We went there on. Wednesday night and it was pretty full. Service is OK we had to ask for our appetizer after our main entree came out. The salad did come until half way. I guess maybe they were just busy. We ordered onion rings that we liked a lot. My order was open face roasted beef and It was cold and only a little bitty beef. The burger and the steak sandwich were great. All in all I feel three star is a fair rating. read more

1.) I called several times the week of 3/29 - 4/4 wanting to ask questions about the party room. The young lady each day told me that the lady in charge wouldn't be in until "the next day, the next day, the next day," but each time I called the next day, the person was never there. They called me 4/8 in the morning to let me know they were on vacation. I'm not sure why the ladies at the front wouldn't tell me that on the phone instead of having me literally call every day, but it would have been appreciated. 2.) When they called me the morning of 4/8, they told me what days are available (evenings, all day, or not at all) for a Saturday in April/May. That's all they told me. She also asked how many people we were expecting, which we are expecting 5-20 (I did not hide this information). She didn't say anything other than it would be $100. Perfect! Mattingly's said they got us signed on the calendar. Wonderful! Got a call a few hours later saying they spoke with their manager and the manager refuses to rent to us because "they can make more money elsewhere." The "person iin charge" was the one that quoted me the $100 on the phone, so I got confused... I called Mattingly's right after and they said there is a minimum amount of people and food orders that must be placed in order to rent the room out on a Saturday, per their manager. They also told me "if they rented the room to us, it wouldn't make sense because the room holds about a hundred people." Ok, but when I told them that morning that there would be 5-20 people, they didn't seem to think it "didn't make sense" then, so I don't appreciate their attitude in telling me that either. .....Ok, I get the minimum and the rules as I stated, but why wasn't that told to me the morning they called? This wasn't shared with me at all, and if someone is "in charge of" the party room, shouldn't they know that? Lack of communication everywhere, from the ladies at the front to the person supposedly "in charge" of the party room not knowing their own specifics? So because we were told we were on the calendar, I had to cancel plans and relay this information, which is really inconvenient.  I get it: rules are rules and you have a minimum. You want to make money. I understand. That's not the problem. I am just upset because: 1.) it took over a week to reach someone because the ladies at the front don't know when people work 2.) I was told wrong information, which led me to have to - 3.) change my plans for the auditions.  4.) Was also told on the phone that my request didn't make sense. Which was rude. What doesn't make sense is being told one thing, and then a few hours later being told we're being refused service because of information not shared with me at all, after being told we were on the schedule. To me, that doesn't make sense. The servers, Melissa and Mike, are their saving grace. They are amazing (request them if you go, or else it's bound to be sub-par at best). Go or don't, whatever. My husband was in search of a really good pizza. I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, it was a complete letdown. From start to finish, my experience was frustrating and disappointing. The tables and the floor where they seated us were filthy. I had to ask for someone to clean them both. The service was incredibly slow and inattentive. It took far too long for someone to acknowledge us, and when they finally did, they seemed uninterested and rushed. Throughout the meal, our server was nowhere to be found, making it nearly impossible to ask for refills or address any concerns. The food was even worse. The pizza was burned on one side and undercooked on the other side. It was overcooked and bland. They offered to remake it. Since they couldn't figure out how to cook a half and half pizza, we were forced to order 2 pizzas, increasing our cost by nearly $20. We sat there for more than an hour waiting on our replacement food. Asked to speak to a manager and she appeared to be a teenager who was not at all interested in our experience. She repeated that they were removing the first pizza from our bill, almost as if she was doing us a favor. To top it off, the ambiance was uninviting, and the cleanliness of the restaurant left much to be desired. Sticky tables, unkempt floors, and an overall lack of attention to detail made the experience even more unpleasant. I rarely leave bad reviews, but I felt compelled to warn others. If you're looking for good food and decent service, I strongly suggest you take your business elsewhere. Two hours and more than $60 wasted. All I can say is NEVER AGAIN! read more

Third time here, first time was amazing. Second time ordered two wraps, one is super salty and brought it back for credit to use next time. Swing by and ordered again, the previous two times both ordered crispy chicken wrap, was all good. But tonight was bad. The chicken is very soggy, and barely chicken in there. Very upset. read more

I've been here maybe 3 times and I've had this soup before and I assure you it didn't look like this. The soup itself was actually tasty once I removed bread that had all my cheese attached to it. It had an awful chemical taste probably from whatever they used to toast the bread or melt the cheese. Whatever it was I didn't like it and therefore prevented me from eating the other bread. The soup needed no seasoning and was piping hot. I wish it looked better bcus we eat with our eyes and that the cheese actually covered the bowl. The service is barely okay. They are understaffed and with a place that big. It's hard to have good service so be prepared to be patient. The one server we had we've had twice before but her engagement with customers is severely dry and unpleasant. We say it every time but still go back. That means the food and drinks are worth it. I ordered my daughter a steak quesadilla with spinach dip to go and it was beautifully laid out in a pizza box. She devoured it when I got it home. She made me taste it and sure enough dipped in that salsa was the best bite ever. Imma let my onion soup from here go. That's final. read more

Stopped in here last night after attending a funeral visitation nearby. This location has a bar in the back for 21yo and up only and a dining area in the front. I also noticed that they were doing quite a bit of takeout business. We sat in the front dining room and we were excited that the dining room was open. We ordered a variety of food including salad, mini tacos and smothered chicken with veggies and Matt-atos. Trust me, you WANT those matt-atos! They are like mini potatoes with garlic parm sauce. I also added a side of ranch on mine because why wouldn't I want ranch?! Their ranch is homemade, a great consistency and delicious! All of the food was delicious and had great flavor! They appeared to be staffed well and the employees were all friendly and helpful. Only reason for taking one star down is timing... it took a long time to get our food for 3 people. read more

If you're in Florissant then be sure you stop by! Food: Cajun chicken wings are perfectly seasoned and crispy! By far the best wings on their menu. Don't be surprised if they sellout. Today, I enjoyed a dinner salad but I like their fries too. There are different cuts: skinny, waffle, or steak. Beverages: There's a bar of course and top shelf Long Island with pineapple instead of Coke is preferred. Service: Hit and miss. Short staffed today so check-ins were limited. read more

They're the only bar left around Florissant that gets almost all the games you could want which is cool but they refuse to allow in reusable water bottles. Won't even bother to check them to see if it's just water OR fill an already empty one with water. I guess they'd rather be wasteful & hurt the environment. I ordered my weekly carry out order of chicken Parmesan sandwich and when I got it home, it was a chicken patty on a bun, no sauc, no Parmesan! I was going to let it go, but this same thing has happened before so I called and was told I could bring it back and they would fix it! When I asked for a Manager, Lindsey, she basically said the same thing and that the owner didn't want to give free food because people lie!! How is that for customer service?!? The customer is out because the restaurant makes the mistake! my husband did take the sandwich back to prove we weren't lying (Lindsey wouldn't meet him) and he asked for credit. Discrimination against my son who is 5 years old a diabetic says he can not have his own food and needs to hurry up and get done with his drink .. mind you we are the only blacks in the place and u are never allowed to do go against a health care plan if something was to happen then what would they do?? Nothing . where does it state a diabetic can not have their own food they didn't even try to accommodate him with other options. But to not only say we don't make the rules but have more than one person approach our table able a drink. The nerve !!! Really when 5 out of 6 people were going to be ordering off the menu. We ordered 2 pizzas a couple of days ago, a buffalo chicken and a a deluxe minus black olives. Upon getting home we opened our pizza boxes and the deluxe had black olives and the cheese on the buffalo was barely melted. My husband went back up with the wrong pizza and showed the receipt that clearly showed no black olives. The manager on duty snapped an attitude right away. It was explained about the deluxe being wrong and the fact the buffalo chicken pizza had barley melted cheese. Then the cook comes out utterly confused as to what was going on. My husband explained to him and he said you ordered it without black olives? Even had to go as far as to show him the receipt. When it was all said and done all we got was a corrected deluxe pizza (that we had to put in the oven to finish cooking at home because again the cheese was not melted). All the manager said was, "He's a new cook" I wasn't looking for a compensation, but after $62 on 2 pizzas that were awful and not even correct in the beginning, it is absurd. read more

My family had dinner today at Mattinglys. The waitress serving the table next to us was soo rude, arrogant and disrespectful to the young men she was serving it broke my heart. As a mother of two young men I would NEVER want my sons to be treated that way. She later complained that she was working from 8am to 8pm. That was her choice and not their problem. When they asked for a manager she stormed off and said they needed a manager and she refused to serve them again. The manager came out with an attitude and made the situation worse. In spite of it all, the young men never raised their voices and remained calm simply asking what could be done about the 1 food item they didn't like. The manager then said pay for it or I will call the police. Nothing rose to the level of police involvement. The manager finally said I took it off your bill but, don't ever come back. Why would they come back after the way you treated them?!! Clearly they have more customers than they need. This mother of 2 sons will not go back again!!! read more

Matingly's is definitely not what it used to be . I will still continue to come here but I do have some issues with Stephanie (owner) She has decided to put greed into her pricing . Loyalty is not a concern. It seems that she is sucking the money out of the company, so much so that the maintenance of the building is definitely lacking, exterior and interior. The food is good but her pricing is getting unfair compared to other bar burger joints in the area. Her wing price make no sense anymore. Most places you can get 10 or 12 wings and get 1/2 hot and 1/2 whatever and it's no problem. With Stephanie, you'll have to buy another order if you want to try a different sauce and you'll pay $2.00 more for an extra sauce. You used to get a burger and fries for a set amount . Now you will have to buy a burger for $9.00 and a side for $3.00. If you want an extra Pattie it is $3.00 more. Now if you want a burger pattie on a plate with no sides or bun , it was $3.50 for the patties. This is fair.. she just changed a single burger Pattie with no bun or trimmings to $9.00 . Even with the increase in cost , other burger places in Florissant have not done the same. I will keep coming because of their employees. I just don't go 3 times a week so she has definitely lost some business from me . What a shame. Their ratings have definitely dropped as well and that sucks read more

This was our second visit and it will be the last. The food was sub-par. Grilled chicken for my salad tough and dry. Fish sandwich tasted like it was on the verge of being bad. Crispy Chicken melt sandwich was fried too crisp, the bacon was covered in black grill debris. I ONLY went for the fried cauliflower appetizer only to find out that they'd been out of it for months...yet it's still on the menu and there's no signage stating they don't have it. I overheard the server telling a table they better hurry up and order because the party in the party room was about to become the focus of the kitchen. Went on a Fri night at 6:30 PM, and they were very busy. There was adequate staff, and the service time was good. My wife and daughter enjoyed their food (sandwiches). My granddaughter and I did not. She had a Quesada and I had a Pizza. Both items were over salted and we could not finish. This is a popular place and has always provided good food in the past. My family gave me surprise birthday party on Saturday evening. It was wonderful. There was several kinds of pasta, wings, ravioli, meatballs and salad. They food-especially the pastas were fantastic. Sam, our server was on top of it. She made sure we had everything we needed almost before we realized we needed it. Drinks were cold and plentiful. To go containers provided for leftovers and bags to carry them in. I believe there were probably 50+ people there and we had plenty of seating and room to socialize also. Kept hearing from friends how great this place was so we were in the area and decided to give it a try. The place is not much to look at from the outside and upon entering it has the feel of a neighborhood hangout.We sat in the bar area and they offer full bar service and plenty of TVs for sports watching. The menu has a wide variety of appetizers, pizza , sandwiches and entree's so you shouldn't leave hungry. I had the Western burger , a very flavorful patty served on grilled Texas toast( yummy) cheddar cheese, bbq sauce and bacon, they forgot to add the onion ring on top and a extremely large order of steak fries which were hot, crispy and delicious. Husband had the patty melt and was pleased with his choice. From the looks of others patrons choices it seemed that pizza is their most popular choice. read more

Corned Beef and Cabbage was amazing, very tender and juicy, served with little potatoes and rye bread and horseradish. Service was very friendly, nice atmosphere, prices reasonable (cheaper and so much better than fast food). Ample parking even today ( St Patricks Day). I work by this place and went here almost everyday for lunch for almost 2 years. Today I unexpectedly opened my chicken quesadilla and the sour cream had another plastic lid in there, looked like it was dropped on the ground as it looked rotten and full of hair. I didn't have time to run up and show them in person. I tried to call and speak to a manager, 15 mins of holding and hung up. I could only imagine how they handle the rest of their food. I went into Mattingly's on New Year's Eve and ordered 2 pizzas and 10 hot wings. While it was pretty busy which I understand working in customer service myself I noticed pizzas sitting and other customers growing agitated. It had been 30 minutes and I noticed two pizzas sitting but I knew that was not my order. Surely they wouldn't let my food sit for 20 minutes and not notify me or give it to me while I waited on the wings. One man went up and grabbed his own food and a worker told him the servers were supposed to do that. I finally was able to get a server's attention after being ignored. The worker a white male with dark hair brushed me off and told me yes those were my pizzas and advised to me there was no issue because that is the way they do it. Pizzas come out fast and wings take longer. I told him my pizza had been sitting for 20 minutes and after touching the bottom of the box it was warm at best. He walked away and told me that's how it goes. I then asked a young white lady who had had dark hair and glasses she then told me that it was the kitchens fault. I asked for a manager and the same young male with dark hair told me once again this time more irritated and snarky that it's just the way it goes and to wait for my wings and laughed and goes happy new year. I searched for the manager for about 10 minutes. Finally the wings appeared by then my pizza was cold. The worst part this young man kept harassing me laughing at me and being disrespectful while I spoke with the manager Callie. She had to tell him to stop but he didn't. He sat behind us and kept walking behind in an overly aggressive manner commenting and laughing. She offered to remake our pizzas by that point I did not trust it. I left upset with a cold pizza and hot wings. Do NOT eat at this location. I can find better pizza and customer service at Pizza Hut. After looking at reviews on Facebook I see this is not a rare occurrence for Mattingly's. Save your money and go somewhere else. Management absolutely does not care because it keeps happening. read more

2nd bad experience here. This time they told us the kitchen closed at 8:30...when online it says the kitchen closes at 9pm. Keep in mind it was 8:40. The customer service is always subpar every time I visit. Safe to say this will be my last time attempting to eat there. read more
