Dr Mattingly treats the whole patient, not just the spine or back, but whatever part of the body that's in pain or discomfort. I came to his practice a total wreck, with painful joints in my limbs and jaw, internal organ pain, especially in abdominal regions. He treated me with pressure point therapy before the adjustment of entire spine. He treated me with nutritional supplements for my overall health. I gained strength and flexibility in my muscles and more energy to do things I could hardly perform. Dr. Mattingly is THE BEST! He and his staff are so nice and so accommodating to last minute schedule changes. I was referred to him by my next door neighbor. Dr. Mattingly helped me quit smoking thru auricular therapy. I smoked from 17 to 29 half pack a day and desperately wanted to quit, but could never get past the withdrawals. I literally had zero withdrawals with the one time treatment and have successfully been quit for almost 2 months now! After I quit smoking thru him I decided to let him work on my back which has been giving me a lot of trouble and anxiety. My muscles were always so tight and I was dropping hundreds of dollars a month on massage luxe. Dr. Mattingly and his staff are just amazing. I had considered going to a Chiropractor as I'm quite active (gym, triathlon, climbing, etc.) but also have an office job, so there was always some stiffness and soreness from the workouts or from sitting at the computer all day (not to mention texting!). No matter how much I foam rolled and stretched, something stiff was always there. I'd never been adjusted in my life so I was pretty bad, but a couple of sessions in and everything was feeling much better and looser! Coincidentally, I hurt both my wrist and foot in the middle of my set of treatments and you could just hear how they "cracked" differently. Went in for Free Pressure Point Therapy thinking it would make me feel better - like a therapy type thing. Came out with very strong back pain when getting up and down in a chair. Also, nearly collapsed when grabbing a towel in my bathroom from the back pain. Doc also put heavy pressure in my neck and it hurt for a few days after. My leg had a tingling "shock" run down it when he put pressure on my hamstring. None of this pain was expected, desired, deserved, anticipated or explained. They sent a likely-AUTO email asking how it went. I told them I caught a cold and my back hurts when it did not before. Brace yourself, no more email or anything from them. Curious.....all started from a flyer in SoCo from their office in Lakeshire/Affton. Guess they are trying to get new business. Wrong plan of action. read more

I want to start by saying that Dr. Mattingly is the real deal. He is a real life miracle worker and I am grateful for him returning my life to me. I injured my back this previous summer and he has helped me immensely to return to working function. He provided a plan, I followed it and week after week I got better. I am now able to walk pain free and that is the goal. To put it in perspective, I was seeing another chiropractor the summer I got injured. My pain was always the same going to that guy's office meaning he wasn't actually fixing the problem with my spine. I go to Dr. Mattingly and the issue is resolved. :) His office is very efficient and coordinated. They are always able to fit me in and I never have to wait long. Today was my first visit to Dr. Mattingly. I was just stopping by out of convenience because I happen to be in a lot of pain this week, and I'm working on setting up my booth at General Grant Antiques next door. He provided me with an immediate visit and a wonderful introductory offer of $50 for an exam, a pressure point therapy session, an x ray, and an extremely thorough adjustment. He is not the kind of doctor who just "pops" the back. He used several methods and techniques to see that every area was taken care of right down to my ankles. Parts of my body like my right leg and my right side of my neck were addressed, and I didn't even know there was a problem with that portion of my spine. He was wonderful at examining everything, compassionate towards me even though he just met me, and he has a great sense of humor and bedside manner. The thing I wasn't expecting at all (relief from 2 herniated discs, a degenerating disc, and spinal stenosis) came to me by what seemed to me as an effortless series of strategies. It felt as if he had been doing this for his entire adulthood. I will certainly go back, and I hope I can see him regularly. Dr Mattingly is wonderful!!! I had hurt my back a few days ago and was desperate for relief. Very easily the worst pain I had ever experienced. When i hobbled into Dr Mattinglys office I couldn't put much weight on my right leg and could not sit upright. My quality of life this week was very poor! Getting dressed and washing was the only thing I.could accomplish in a day and it took a very long time filled with pain. When I called the office Dr. Mattingly answered the phone himself and scheduled me that same day and I had never been there before. His staff is great and Dr Mattingly is very knowledgeable!! His bedside manor is above the rest and it was a pleasure meeting him! When I walked (yes WALKED) out of the office I was able to put a significant amount of weight on my right leg and could now sit upright!!!! What a relief, I could have cried!!! Fast forward to today Dr. Mattingly called me himself to check and see how I am doing. The answer is night and day, no comparison!! I do still have some pain and I see him again tomorrow, however, the pain I have is definitely manageable. You can tell Dr Mattingly really cares about his patients and he does wonderful work!! So happy I found him. You don't find doctors like this everyday. I will be a client of Dr. Mattingly's for a long time to come!! Almost forgot to mention!! I woke up in serious pain. I had three appointments and couldn't get to a Chiro until after lunch. I called Dr Dusty's office and they fit me in last minute. The doc cut my pain in half so I am going back tomorrow to get another adjustment. I had a bad pinched nerve. I went bak for my second adjustment. 80% better now. I had to write this review to warn people of their high pressure nature to commit to a treatment that cost thousands. They gave me an insurance estimate that said I would get $1,500 reimbursed by Blue Cross/Blue Shield but all I got was a measly $123! When I called the insurance company, they said they were out of network and had told Dr. Mattingly that I would be responsible for most of it. He never told me they were out of network or that they were told that on the phone when they called to see what they would pay. I paid the whole bill upfront because he was giving me a discount for paying it in one foul swoop. When Blue Cross/Blue Shield called them today on my behalf and confronted them about their failure to be honest with the lack of coverage, Ryan, who oversees all the billing, said I had already paid and there wasn't any recourse. If you have money to throw away, fine, go see Dr. Mattingly. Just know ahead of time that you won't get any money back from your insurance company, regardless of what they tell you! read more
