Over the years, I have been lucky enough to work with Dr. Fishel directly and while I still receive adjustments from her every now and then, most of my adjustments are provided by Dr. Christine Carson. Every now and then, they have students in the room to observe and I have even been adjusted by a student, Dr. Isabelle. Of course, it's scary to offer my body as practice for a student, but I have full trust in her and know that she would not be adjusting if she was not fully ready and prepared. The front desk gal, Julie, is a delight and I just love how friendly she is when I arrive. The energy in this office is just what I need and I am really happy to continue working with this team. My body feels so much better than it ever has. While sometimes it takes a few tries to get my body cracked or adjusted, we work together to get things moving the right way and as the team knows, I laugh when a good 'pop' happens. It's really the best part of my week. Maybe last year (or the year prior) they began offering packages for adjustments which can help save some money so I signed up for a package which means I am going to continue for at least another year! Nothing worked to help alleviate the pain and discomfort. I tried cortisone shots, pain pills, anti inflammatories..nada. I was referred to him by an old co-worker and I felt better almost instantly, I HAVE never had a bad session here, ever. He takes the time every visit to chat with me about what's going on and always gives me recommendations at the end. I am never rushed or made to feel like I am a number. They also use e-stimulation here which I think is a great perk. Also, the front desk staff, Tracy and Jessica, are absolutely phenomenal. I came in for a tune up after losing 120 pounds and wanted someone who works well with active bodies as well as injured bodies that are the typical chiropractic clientele. I was delighted by how thorough a history they took and immediate felt like the care I was getting was personalized to me. I wasn't just a body part on a medical chart, they took the time to learn my name. The next session I was actually having some neck and low back pain. They added those areas to the day's plan and I felt immediate relief with those adjustments. My migraines are now much more manageable and while I was first apprehensive about acupuncture, I am excited to tell everyone I meet how helpful it has been. Dr. Young has also treated me for muscle spasms I get from my chronic pain issues and given me spinal adjustments when I've needed them. She is always understanding of my not wanting to have my neck adjusted, as that is something that I just don't care to have done. She has evening and Saturday hours which make it easy to make an appointment that works for my schedule. I grew up as a ballerina and needless to say it wasn't that easy on my body - I trained on concrete floors, pushed my muscles to the limit, and it ended up taking a huge toll on me once I hit my mid-twenties. For the past year and a half, I have only slept 3-5 hours a night, was often limping on my right leg, and was basically learning to just live with the pain. I went to so many doctors and spent thousands of dollars only to be told to try antidepressants. I was met with blank stares because my scans were all clean, and that it was a muscular issue. After the orthopedic route, I tried massage, sensory deprivation floating, and everything in between. I was basically taking Advil every few hours and still not sleeping. I had always had a negative opinion of chiropractors and I'm not sure why... but I was always against the idea, even when I was really being pushed to go by someone who saw the pain firsthand. Nancy made my first visit so comfortable - I told her I didn't want my neck adjusted because it just freaked me out too much, and she gladly obliged (even though I bet she was secretly rolling her eyes at me.) Over the past 5-6 weeks I've been doing a combination of electro stem, acupuncture, and adjustments. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't a quick fix - I had some painful days for sure, but each week I've gotten better and I'm now officially at zero pain. I can't even believe it. My visits are becoming less and less frequent and I'm even back to the treadmill and light workouts.
