Went here three years ago for neck and back pain and was told that chiropractic care isn't covered…read moreby my insurance, and the chiropractor told me that they had a deal where you can spend $1000 and get $100 back and that this care plan would cover approximately 3 months of care (adjustments and exercises) and that he had it all calculated out with the amount of sessions that I prepaid for out of pocket. When the three months passed and I completed my last pre-paid sessions, I did not want to renew and pay for any more sessions because my neck and back were still in just as much pain as when I started and I saw no benefit to the amount of time and money I already had invested in the place, so I simply didn't renew and stopped going. Three years later I get a letter in the mail from them claiming that I owe $145 and that it is the "final notice" before it goes to collections. Naturally, I call them to figure out what they're talking about and to explain that I was told that I had already pre-paid for every session I went to and didn't go to any more after my pre-paid care plan ran out. The woman on the phone was already aware that there were discrepancies with the pricing due to the chiropractor I had seen three years ago being let go from the practice , and several other patients reported similar issues with being deceived about the pricing. She said "there's a reason he doesn't work here anymore and our person that handles the finances has to closely audit all of these cases" .. so in other words, they were well aware that I got screwed ,but also took zero accountability over the fact that it happened due to their chiropractor misinforming people. They basically took the stance of "oh well we fired him now so anything that happened while he worked for us wasn't our fault" , and I just can't respect that negligence. Will never return to the practice no matter how a good a chiropractor Rob Elder may be just because it isn't worth it to get blindsided years later by an office that is unorganized with employees that aren't on the same page.

After being a patient of Dr. Mattingly for more than a year, I discovered that I had been overbilled by $2,067 in 2025 and an additional $108 in 2026 for just two visits. When I initially raised the issue, the office only agreed to refund $539, and only after I challenged the discrepancy and spent significant time researching and providing a detailed accounting of what was billed, what was allowed under the insurance contract, and what had already been paid by my insurance carrier, did the office issue a second refund check for $1,528. My review revealed that I was being billed for amounts exceeding the insurance carrier's contracted allowable rates, charges that should not have been billed under the provider agreement, and amounts that had already been paid by the insurance company. In total, more than $2,175 was refunded. At that level, it is difficult to dismiss this as a simple billing mistake. Patients should not have to become insurance experts or conduct forensic audits of their own accounts to ensure they are being billed correctly. The billing staff should be properly trained to read provider EOBs, understand contractual insurance adjustments and terms, and accurately account for payments received from insurance carriers. Dr. Mattingly is the ONLY chiropractor I have ever visited who required full payment upfront for an entire treatment plan.
