Appreciate the care from Dr Wertel. Would appreciate if his receptionist, Anna, was as good. Her demeanor is acerbic at best. I've watched Anna show kindness and care to other customers so she is capable. Considering switching chiropractors because she's been so rude. read more

Very personable and cares about giving relief. Willing to take time to research issues that he's typically dealing with and find solutions

This was my very first time seeing a chiropractor and I had no clue what to expect. Dr. Wertel made me feel very comfortable and told me what to expect from my visit. I left his office feeling better than when I went in. I'm a hairdresser and all my stress and hurt is in my neck and shoulders. I am so glad I was referred to him and plan on seeing him again in the future. read more

Gerald J Wertel, DC - Chiropractors Near Me - Saint Louis, Missouri

Dr. Wertel is about the BEST Chiropractor I have been to. I am 58 and have been to many Chiropractors over the years. He is very professional and friendly. The office and staff are very nice. I had a serious pain in my neck/arm area for 2 months! Every time I left Dr. Wertel's office, I always felt better. He does all he possibly can to help his patients and I truly believe that he helped me tremendously. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Wertel to anyone looking for a GREAT Chiropractor! My husband is going to see him next (and he has never ever been to a Chiropractor in his life!!) My aches and pains are arthritius and osteoperosis related; my husband's are work-related like pulled back muscles, etc. Darlene K. St. Louis, MO read more

Dr.Wertel and his staff are always super nice, friendly and actually care about you! The girls at the front always greet you and say hello, they actually talk to you and not rush you in and out. Dr.Wertel is very professional, he will ask you how you're feeling, how was your day, etc. He helped my back feel better, I was in a lot of pain for a while. He slowly got my lower back feel better and eased my horrible pain! I'd highly recommended him to all my friends and family. Also, this place is kid friendly which is amazing!!! They always talk to my daughter and ask her questions which is very nice that they acknowledge children! She was really shy at first but came around after all the appointments and would talk to everyone! read more

Friendly, thorough & sincerely wants the best for you!! Highly recommended ... feels like family!!

I found Dr Wertel quite by accident on our Nextdoor neighborhood communication app. I emailed that I was looking for a chiropractor close to home and wondered if he could fit me in. They called me the next morning and booked me the next day. He was very thorough, asked me all about my past issues and resolutions with back pain and wanted to see any MRI readings I had. After he explained what he thought my issues were he did some adjusting then some electrical stimulation therapy. He constantly asked if I felt ok and made sure I was comfortable throughout the session. I was very pleased with not only the results but the level of care and sincere want to make sure things are done to my satisfaction. This will be my guy for a long while I think. read more

Dr. Wertel is simply the best. He was so helpful when i had an injury a couple of years ago but mostly I just go for general maintenance and to feel my best. He always knows exactly what to do. I highly recommend him! read more

Dr. Wertel is kind, gentle and has a healing touch. I have a rare condition which makes me fragile so he invented a way to adjust me that is more gentle than standard chiropractic adjustments. I have referred my friends, family and neighbors and would recommend anyone looking to seek assistance in managing pain, an injury or just to maintain maximum health. The office staff is also kind and personable. What an inviting environment. If Dr. Wertel is closed for some reason, I would just wait. read more

Dr. Wertel is kind, patient, and caring. He'll go above and beyond to make sure your pain is taken care of. His staff (Anna & Lucy) are so accomodating and helpful. This office is the best hidden jewel of South St. Louis!! read more

My very first time visiting a Chiropractor and it was a great experience. Dr. Wertel is very professional and friendly. The office and staff are very nice. Dr. Wertel was recommended to me by a co-worker after hearing I had visited 3 other doctors for a back and tail bone injury and still was in a lot of pain for 3 weeks. After a few sessions and tips on stretching at home I felt so much better. I have and will definitely recommend family and friends to see Dr. Wertel read more

I firmly believe that some chiropractors see their patients as little piggy banks, and keep them in just enough pain to continue coming back. Dr. Wertel is not one of those. I need adjusted about 2-3 times per year, and I always feel much better a day or two after my adjustment, and then don't see him for another 4-6 months. If I needed, he always seems to have same day or next day appointments available, no long waits. His office staff is courteous and professional. His office is nice, located in a typical South City brick storefront. My only complaint is that sometimes parking can be a pain, but that's nothing Dr. Wertel has any control over. read more

I was super impressed by how kind and caring both the staff and the doctor are! Dr. Wertel takes the time to ask about all pain to make sure he takes the best process in helping his patients. He is truly an awesome guy and a great chiropractor! I highly recommend him. And he just moved locations. His new location is incredible! read more

I have been having back pains for years. I have a job that involves heavy lifting all day every day. The family doctor I told about my back pain treated me with pain killers for about a year and that really didn't help the situation. Eventually I just accepted that my back was going to hurt all the time and eventually get worse with age. A buddy of mine with back issues told me to try a chiropractor. Reluctantly, because I didn't believe in the science of it, I tried Dr. Wertel. Its only been a couple of weeks, but my back is sooo much better now. I can do almost anything now and there is no more pain. The first visit I explained where and what was hurting and he knew exactly what it was and relieved the bulk of the pain that day. We have moved on to other trouble spots now and those are improving drastically as well. Anyone who has any doubts about chiropractors like I did, forget about them, its the real deal. Dr. Wertel knows his stuff and he's a great guy on top of it. Drop the pain management and get with the pain elimination. read more

Dr Wertel has provided excellent care. I came to him with persistent low back pain and after 4-5 consecutive visits with him I felt a huge improvement. With his adjustments and suggestions I have been able to stay pain free for months on end. I was very happy with the treatment I received and would reccomend him to anyone that needs a good chiropractor. His office staff is professional and friendly as well. read more

Dr. Wertel is amazing! I fell down my stairs over the summer, and he fixed me up in just a few appointments! Slipped on some ice recently, and I was better in one appointment. His secretaries are really friendly and work hard to make sure that if you really need to see him, they will get you in ASAP. Trust me, it would be hard to hate Dr. Wertel. read more

Dr. Wertel is a great Chiropractor! Yes, I said great! I have been seeing chiropractors for some 40 + years and Dr. Wertel has been the best one to date. He is very upfront with me and with what I need to do to get better. I was having severe pain in my neck, arms and hands that kept me up at night or woke me from a sound sleep. Some Drs. thought it was carpal tunnel syndrome and wanted to do surgery although I do have some signs of carpal tunnel I really didn't believe that was my problem and neither did Dr. Wertel. After a few adjustments he knew that I needed something other than what he was doing. He took some x-rays of my neck, found out what the real problem was and recommended therapy and suggested that I see an orthopedic doctor if the pain continued. He knew right away that simple adjustments weren't going to help. Long story short, I had to have surgery to remove and replace a plug between disc 4 and 5, I am now pain free. Dr. Wertel doesn't take unnecessary x-rays, he knows when they are needed, nor does he tell you that you have to come back if he doesn't find it necessary and believe me he knows, he leaves the decision up to you. When I feel I need to see him, I make an appointment. Dr. Wertel is there to help relieve your pain and to help make you feel better. I would recommend Dr. Wertel to any and everyone. I even take my grandsons, who are just 8 and 10 years old. They tell me how good they feel after Dr. Wertel gives them an adjustment, it even helps their attitude because when your in pain your not always a nice person, trust me I know. I trust Dr. Wertel explicitly. read more
