I've been going to Lafayette Square Chiro for 2-3 years now. They are the 4th chiropractor I've tried since moving to St Louis 7 years ago - any by far the best in my mind. They are willing to share what they have learned about whole body health, but they are also willing to back off and not pressure you into supplements, etc. More than most I've been to, they let you progress at the pace and in the areas you want to pursue. Additionally, whenever I talk to Dr Crystal or April about results or things going on with my body, they do a great job at tailoring the discussion to my level - getting more technical in areas I am comfortable and more general where I don't know as much or I'm less interested. I was in a minor car accident a year and a half ago and we quickly adjusted my treatment plan and within a few weeks was back to where I was before the accident. I am convinced that my adjustments made a huge difference in the speed at which I improved. My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Crystal for 10 years. She has helped us maintain our health as well as addressed any issues we've had. I wanted to take my time in writing a review so I could be thorough and honest. I was impressed the moment I walked in the door, from the friendly service and how they greet everyone by name as they walk in, to offering water in cups that can be recycled, to supplements if you're interested, to the scent of essential oils, and of course the sweet pups, I was so impressed. I loved the initial scans and getting to know you they do at the first appointment, very thorough and I felt so comfortable with April. The whole staff happens to be women, as well which for me is a plus. I've gotten relief after about 12 adjustments that I did not think I would achieve at all. I don't remember the last time I was this comfortable in my body. I'm more aware of my posture, I'm equipped with exercises and stretches to do at home. This business seems to be mainly educators that do happen to know how to make your body pop and bring you great relief as an added bonus. It's more than I could have imagined a chiropractic office to be. TL;DR I'm a skeptic by nature and was impressed by the friendly (dog filled) atmosphere, relieved of horrible pain, Am now SO more aware of my body and equipped with stretches and exercises. Found Dr. Peairs and the team after a pretty serious hip/low back trauma. They were so kind and patient getting everything setup for the first evaluations and visits. Dr. Peairs was very diligent and thorough to start understanding what was going on, and then begin treatment. She isn't the 'break every bone in your body' kind of chiro, but rather uses a low impact and very effective adjustment technique. Over time we recognized the need for supplemental treatments which she recommended and referred as necessary. With her comprehensive care plan I've gone from barely walking and back spasms which literally brought me to my knees to just finishing a three week safari and trekking trip. Not only does Dr. Crystal give a good routine exam/adjustment, she finds the odd "trouble spots" and adjusts those as well. April does a great job with the re-evals I go through. Kara keeps track of my appointments, makes sure I have future appointments, and tracks when I need my 6 month re-eval. Not only do they offer great chiropractic care, and excellent customer service, they use "puppy therapy" with their patients. When I arrive, they let their dogs out from behind the counter. I get down on the floor and play with/rub the bellies of their dogs. This is a documented stress reliever. I've been going to LSCC for over 10 years. I have been healthier, reduced my back pain, and when I did have issues, Dr. Crystal was able to fix them. My husband and I entered Lafayette Square Chiropractic two years ago as a last resort without any idea of what to expect from a chiropractor. I had been diagnosed by a sports orthopedic dr with a herniated disk in my neck which was causing severe pain and extremely limited motion. His solution was to go to urgent care every time it flared up (every couple of months), get the steroid shots and Vicodin, and then when that stopped working do surgery which would require going through my neck... Not exactly a great long-term prognosis. My husband had a long time pinched nerve and limited range of motion leftover from the Army. During their intake process we put everything down that was wrong, even though I was pretty sure chiropractic care could not do anything (sleep trouble, digestive issues, heart burn, allergies, etc.) I also had reservations about chiropractic care in general from rumors I had heard and some YouTube videos. (I don't want to be twisted into a pretzel!) Dr. Crystal and her team spent more time with us than any doctor had in years, dispelling myths, answering questions, explaining everything, doing some high-tech body scans, and focusing on preventative care and the whole body and whole family health. This was a refreshing and surprising change from modern medicine where you're lucky to get 10min from the Dr. and where they focus on treating one symptom, as opposed to the actual underlying problem. Her team makes you feel at ease and the adjustments she does are tailored to each person, where they are in their journey, and what their comfortable with. We love it! Also, for the first six months I assumed Treme was an actual certified therapy dog that was there for the patients, which I though was a nice touch. Apparently, she's not actually trained, that's just her personality! My last visit to urgent care was in August 2017, I've lost weight, I'm now off all prescribed and OTC medications, and I'm healthier than I have been in years. My husband has feeling in his leg again and can actually move without pain or stiffness. Starting care here not only provides the best chiropractic care around, but also provides a network of caring professionals that are actually focused on solving problems and not just treating symptoms with the latest drug. We are a happier and healthier family! Thank you so much to the whole Lafayette Square Chiropractic team, both human and canine!!! I'm not sure what we would have done if we hadn't found you, but I probably would have had several dangerous and unnecessary surgeries by now. Talk about personal care! I have been one of a herd of cattle at my old chiropractor, sitting in the waiting room, being sent to a treatment room and waiting, waiting for assistant one to come in and hook up a machine, then leave me alone in the room, until assistant two comes in to unhook me and let me know the doctor will be with me shortly. I had to block 1-1/2 hours for appointments. At LSCC the experience is completely different. The office has a homey ambiance that is so comfortable and you are greeted by April with warmth and care, and the best part is that Dr. Crystal comes and gets you. I swear you can feel the love.
