Please send karma to the clown who not only threw a bicycle in Sugar Creek but it looks like it's a kids bike and therefore stolen. I hate people. I took a nice walk around the park to try to get that out of my head. Thanks! [Review 14044 overall, 1366 of 2020, number 2670 in North Carolina.]

Learned while there that it's the first African American park in Charlotte. We easily found covered seating with a table not far from a basketball court and pickle ball court with games in play. We were also near restrooms which I meant to check out but from the outside the building looked new and well kept. Weather was nice out, park was not crowded. I saw a sign advertising music in the evenings every 4th Saturday. There's an amphitheater near the front of the park. We'll probably be back to check out the music. Really nice park!

This is one of the most beautiful parks I've had the pleasure of visiting. There are beautiful views, playgrounds and lawn space for children's play, plenty of parking, trails for walking/bike riding, several bridges, and large trees to compliment the fields. The park is well-kept as everyone here ensures cleanliness and top maintenance. As my dad and I sat down on the bench and soaked in our surroundings, we observed a plethora of activity which included some people flying drones, kids competing in the playground's obstacle course, elderly folks walking, dogs running amok, people racing toy cars, and a few people cycling. The positive energy and vibes were radiant. I'm glad we stopped by here. Definitely worth a visit in Charlotte!

Tournament was delayed by two hours due to rain. When we arrived the fields looked great and there was ample space to set up your own seating. A few trips were made to the bathroom by my group and no complaints. At one point, one person when to the concession stand to see what was on the menu as we were starting to get hungry. Come to find out that even though teams were still playing, the concession stand had closed. Most places would make an adjustment to their schedule for delayed tournaments to ensure they stayed open during the last games. This may be an external group that runs them, and I get it, it's just tough to corral hungry children and convince them they'll be fine for awhile longer.

People seem to be completely ignoring the signs because the park was incredibly crowded and no one was social distancing. Luckily, we were able to find a secluded picnic table to sit at and eat our lunch. It seemed like a nice park and I would have loved to stay and walk around on some of the trails, but I wasn't comfortable doing that considering how crowded it is. I'd recommend trying to find a less popular park than this one if you're just trying to spend some time outside.

You can do lots of walking between the large parking lot here and the neighboring church parking lot though, if you don't mind pavement. On weekends they get packed out to the brim. Small kids all over the playground and multiple teams squeezing in practice on the fields. Coolest thing to me were the two cell towers that were disguised as pine trees.
