He finishes with the traditional hot towel and neck shave. Nothing else like it! His new location on Weddington Rd is really nice salon. There are additional barbers and stylists to handle the crowds. Sports fans will enjoy the large screen TV and sports programming. There is always a Football, Futbol or Tennis Tourney on while you wait. Once a cash only shop, they now take Venmo as well. The best recent addition is online scheduling. The online scheduling is really easy and convenient. After checking in, two different stylists asked who we were there for while we sat waiting. I told multiple people we were waiting on Dani, but no one informed us she was running late. From what I overheard, another stylist mentioned that Dani was late and had said she was "walking in the door ," per this stylist and Dani's text messaging, but that was already 10 minutes earlier. So she lied. She finally arrived around 3:45 PM, outside talking to someone, then walked in with her teenage son appearing completely unconcerned about being late. There was no apology, acknowledgment, or professionalism whatsoever. She came in sighing heavily and acting like it was no big deal, despite the salon being packed with customers. At that point, we decided to leave. She tried to come after us, but honestly, I didn't want to risk another bad experience. About four weeks ago, my son received an uneven haircut at a high-end shop and he's been counting down the days to get it fixed. First impressions matter, and the overall appearance, attitude, and lack of communication did not inspire confidence. The salon itself was extremely busy, which makes the lack of professionalism even worse. Customers deserve communication, respect, and accountability when their time is being wasted.

Walked through the door, and Ricky King was my barber, and that's how he treated me. Took his time to see what I wanted and started out conservative as he said he could always cut off more hair. Like all pro he made sure to clean up my ears and eyebrows, something that some places tend to forget, then finished off with a hot latter and straight razor. By reviews, this was the best place on yelp in Charlotte, and the price was fair. As a rant, I get irritated at those barber shops that are upscale, give a mediocre cut, and charge top dollar. This place was down to earth, has a pedigree of being in business since the 60's, has been updated over the years, but still has that classic feel. He kept the length on both, which was important to me, but added the right amount of shape and control so everything looks intentional now instead of just grown out. What stood out most was how well he blended the haircut into the beard. The sides look cleaner without being too tight, and the beard has a defined shape without looking overdone or overly sharp. He also took the time to explain what he was doing and how to maintain it, which I really appreciated. Overall, it felt like a very thoughtful and skilled approach rather than just a quick cut. If you're growing your hair and beard out and want someone who can shape it properly without taking too much off, I'd definitely recommend Marcus. I'll be back.

We actually ended up taking a break from visiting due to how far our travel was for this place. So we tried many - make that several barbershops that were closer to home. And every time we would leave one - my son would be complaining. They scratched him, they grabbed his head to hard or something. And he's only 7 now - but he should still be treated with the same respect that any other customer would be treated with. So after months of him begging, I finally took him back and he was the happiest kid I had seen in a long time. His hair is fresh again. We actually didn't see Danny because man was his schedule booked for the times we wanted. I tried to get in with Leon too but he was booked up.
