Really enjoyable course. Great attention to detail and fun facts, for both child and adult. Very clever how they carried the Swiss throughout the whole course. Owner/staff were very welcoming. This is the most incredible mini golf in Connecticut! Here are my top 5 reasons why I love this course and can't wait to go back to play another round: 1. The clean, bright, and impeccably maintained course. I have never played on a course that allows for such a true, straight putt at every turn. 2. This is a unique course comprised of creative holes that all tie into the Swiss theme. Some of the holes include Toblerone, a ski slope, Swiss bank accounts, and the Matterhorn (of course)! 3. The holes are challenging and feature obstacles and designs that you don't find on your run-of-the-mill miniature golf course. My favorite hole is the one designed like a ski slope; you can choose your path down the mountain via moguls or slaloming down the slope. 4. The owner is friendly and will speak to you in English, French, or German! 5. The community connection. The goat statues that you see throughout the course were designed and painted by local schools and organizations. We really enjoyed looking at the designs and reading about who made them! This is a clever, fun, miniature golf course. You would be remiss not to visit it this season! read more

The originality of this course was matched only by it's pristine course conditions. Each course was carefully designed and no detail was left out. Love this place! We travel to a lot of mini-golf places and Matterhorn was worth it. The course is fun to play yet still challenging. My wife and daughter and I enjoyed this Outstanding mini golf course this weekend. Not only is the course incredibly unique, it's staff is passionate and friendly. They have put a lot of energy and focus into this great course, and not a single detail was overlooked. From the wildflower gardens to the ornate wood designs in the "lodge", this is an experience, not just a round of mini golf. The course offers fun facts and amazing architecture. Even the putting surfaces feel better than other courses. The grass feels more like grass, and the "bobsled course" hole plays more like a slick ice than grass. Try the amazing ice cream after. Visit with Mulligan the official course Coton de Tulear. It will be an experience you won't soon forget, and will want to go back for more. read more

Stopped by matahorn mini golf with my son and 5 friends friends for a round of golf for his birthday. My wife and I were not going to play but simply supervise and keep the peace. Before we were allowed on the course we were both asked to pay a $4.00 service charge. When we inquired as to the the reason we were told it was for insurance purposes. Just my option, but this seems just plain silly! In my forty years of mini golf I have never heard of such a thing. Not coming back! read more

Very overpriced for mini-golf. $10 per person and kids rates $6 are only 5 and under. They also charge you if mom or grandpa want to just go as a 'spectator'. I have never heard of that at a mini-golf in my life. The greens are made from Home Depot style outdoor carpet and are extremely slow. The fun of mini golf for kids is to have a chance at a hole-in-1 on most holes and many of these are impossible for that. There is one hole where there is a pond literally in the middle and you either have to skip the ball over the water or pray for a miracle roll around the bend. I was really disappointed and so were the kids. read more

Based on course and facilities along I would rate this mini golf a 5, hands down. One of the most attractive and fun courses I have played on. My rating is based solely on the customer service I received today. I was golfing with my husband, in-laws and 2 sons, age 4 and age 1. At about hole 7, I bent down to apply sunscreen to the 1 year old sitting in his stroller when the 4 year old wound up, swung, and his club solidly hit the side of my head/ear! Ouch!!! I was in pain on the ground, crying, dizzy, and unable to hear anything out of my right ear. I was very surprised the staff was not quick to run out to help or see if I was okay. My father-in-law had to run to the building to ask for ice, and run it back out to us. (At that time we were pretty much the only ones on the course so their lack of assistance was not because they were busy.) I made it inside to sit down and apply ice to my ear, and instructed my in-laws to allow my older son to continue to play to keep him occupied while my husband and I assessed my injury. They quickly played several more holes, and when I decided I needed to go to urgent care to get my ear checked out, they returned to the lodge. My mother-in-law asked the woman behind the counter if she could have a partial refund, at least for my game which only lasted six holes. The woman's response was, "No, because your party caused your injury I do not owe you anything." I could not believe her reply or her tone, what terrible customer service! Even if that was her opinion, to see someone injured on her course, show little concern/compassion about the incident, and then refuse to issue a coupon for a free round of golf (which would cost her nothing!) was a big mistake on her part. I was a huge fan of Matterhorn prior to this experience and have recommended it to countless friends, which I will no longer do. Also, the $4 spectator fee is silly, never seen that at any other courses! read more

If you're looking for a place to play with children, look elsewhere. The staff was polite, but we could tell that our group, which included several children, was an inconvenience for them. Also, we went during the day with a sunny sky. There is very little shade and we were roasting. Very cute course, very well-maintained. Also very expensive. read more

Super quick and easy mini golf course, great for kids. My husband and I stopped to kill some time before our dinner reservation nearby. The staff was very nice (and remained true to their Swiss characters). The course is very small and well-kept; it seemed brand new. The holes weren't too hard at all, but they were fun and there were cute Swiss facts at each hole. We were stuck behind two huge families with small children and a nice older woman, who I assume is the owner, told us to pass them and come back to those holes last. That really sped us up - the whole course took us only about 30-40 minutes. If it's hot, be sure to wear sunscreen and bring sunglasses because there's very little shade. Decent soft serve ice cream too (vanilla only with different flavor swirl options). Overall, great first date spot or a place to bring your family. I probably wouldn't become a regular because it wasn't particularly challenging but it's fun if you're looking to kill an hour! read more

Very fun and unique! The atmosphere was so friendly and the ice cream was so good. So many little great things about the course! From the painted porcelain goats to the fun facts at each hole made there never be a dull moment. Stopped by for a pit stop and was pleasantly surprised. It was clean, the staff friendly, and we were so impressed by all of the small details. There were "fun facts" all around and you could tell that when this was designed every detail was thought out. My date and I had an absolutely awesome experience at Matterhorn Mini Golf. I felt like we stepped into a video game on the Switzerland themed course. The adventure begins with Autumn (visionary, creator and owner). She came over introduced herself and gave us the history of how this fabulous course came to be, all from her imagination. She was funny, friendly and made our experience all the more memorable. She left us with this simple but wise tip "take turns going first." We loved the course from start to finish, we both even got a hole in 1!! Her sense of humor lead you though the journey as we embarked on each hole of the course, excited to see what we would learn next. She cleverly named all 18 holes and the tidbits of information that accompanied each hole kept you engaged on your adventure though Switzerland. The level was over as someone has to win. I gracefully lost to my date who played and excellent 18 holes. He was strategically analyzed the angles needed for success at each hole, keeping me on my toes and fighting until the end. Thank you Autumn for creating Matterhorn a space that allows adults to be children again!!! We can't wait to go back and be challenged again on the coolest mini golf course we have ever been too!!! read more

Nice mini golf course - not extremely challenging but fun scenario and facts along the way. Unfortunately....WAY overpriced. $10+ per person, no Veteran or senior discounts, no coupons anyway. They need to realize their business would double if the gave a break somewhere. For almost (or more than) $3 less per person we can go anywhere else in the area, and will. It's a shame. I have. The course is interesting and not your typical mini golf course which is both good and bad. Good because it's a great change of pace from your usual golf course but bad because sometimes the layout doesn't make sense. read more

started off as a good experience with my husband, our son (2), our good friends and their son (2) for our first ever mini golf with the boys. That ended all of 2 minutes after we got there and paid and the lady behind the counter(I think the owner) had an attitude with us saying she didn't realize we were a group and that they don't allow groups over 5 to play and we can't be "getting in the way" of other people on a busy Sunday. Um... there were all of two people who played the course behind us and there was only one family in front of us. And then also said oh well it's not like you're really playing just make sure you don't hold anyone up and you let people go in front of you.... I'm sorry, WHAT? We just paid 20+ dollars (per couple) to play on your mediocre at best course. We will never be back, there are much better places around this area that won't make you feel like you're lucky just to be allowed to play. read more
