And it wouldn't be a road trip with out something going wrong the first day haha. Our heater core gave out and started to leak on the inside of our van. I called Grays and was told that they were closed but that the owner was going to be there all day, so if we showed up he'd do what he could for us. When we showed up he came right out took a look at the van and told us exactly what he could do for us, to get us on back on the road ASAP. Fixed the problem and we were on our way. Very honest and affordable work. Rare to these days. Especially when your just passing through a town. Anyways, thanks so much for the help. Highly recommend this spot.

I own 1971 VW Bus. It's my daily driver. I live local. Older V-Dubs are quite easy to work on,…read morebut have engines seen less frequently by local mechanics. I Asked Mark's Auto to install a thermostat kit and clutch. They indicated they're not afraid of Volkswagens and had experience with Porshe engines. I provided parts. They provided labor. I took a chance with Mark's Auto because they are nearby. I'm seeking mechanics I can trust. They looked the bus over and provided a quote for kit installation. Their estimate was Extremely High due to lack of experience with air-cooled VWs, and to cover their butt for unexpected obstacles. I agreed to give them an opportunity, rolling the dice, so to speak. Unfortanately, they struggled to do this timely. My bus stayed at their outdoor hoist for 12-days. That is not a reasonable in any stretch of imagination. But it is what it is. They charged me a great deal more than their original quote. So I paid double dearly to keep it local. Their high-end quote was for $1,400.00. 13 Days after they began, they presented a bill for $1,675.00 dollars. Their markup on common worn parts they order are literally - Astronomical. If I provide them more business, a more reasonable learning-curve labor charge is requisite in earning my trust. Otherwise, it's a short jaunt to Bend or Eugene, of course. So far, I suspect they did quality work (albeit expensive) on my bus. Only time and distance will tell.

They arrived at exactly the time I was told - actually two drivers arrived since one was dispatched and the other was driving by and stopped to check on me. The very friendly and professional driver was masterful with the truck as he put the suburban on the back and then hitched our trailer for the tow into town. He unloaded both delicately and even offered me a ride to the hotel I was staying in while my car was serviced and gave me tips on where to eat and to avoid in town. AAA didn't cover the trailer tow, so I had to pay for that out of pocket but the price was fair. Their equipment is top-notch and modern as well.

We've had our 1996 Toyota 4Runner V6 SR5, manual transmission, since 2006 and it's never had major…read morework performed on it and just kept on kicking. It was finally due for a repair and was having power issues between 4th & 5th gear and chugged A LOT when accelerating from 2nd gear. It kept making a buzzing noise from the engine, even when off... and we just lived with the check engine light on. We needed a mechanic who we could trust and afford as times are tight and expensive these days. And Eric with Truth Automotives fit our need! Eric came out to our house and completed a full diagnosis of the 4Runner and explained what likely was the issues causing all of our problems. He went through likely scenarios in detail and how the repair process would go. We opted to have Eric work on the 4Runner out of his garage shop in Culver, although mobile repairs are also an option. Eric emailed me a quote of the estimated cost and price list for all the parts. Eric's quote was very reasonable and we decided to hire him. Eric kept us informed throughout the repair process with what he was seeing, as he was taking the vehicle apart. He kept us informed about parts being delivered and when there was a delay on parts that would effect the finished timeline. Eric was able to diagnose that we needed a new O2 sensor and full tune up, with new spark plugs. Eric also repaired the oil leak with a new oil pan. Fortunately, Eric was also able to clean the fuel injectors so they didn't need to be replaced, which would have costed us $600 more in just parts, so that was an amazing relief. The 4Runner now runs perfectly! The power issues are all gone, the oil is not leaking, feels like a new transmission as the fuel injectors & O2 sensor were cleaned and replaced, and no more Buzzing! Overall Eric did a fantastic job with our 4Runner! If you are looking for an honest, trustworthy mechanic who will communicate throughout your repair process, Eric is your guy!
