First off I'm a bit older so finding a shop who is good enough to handle my tech and me is always great. I was sold a Samsung S23 Ultra from the verizon store a few months back and since it's all glass inevitably it will break. Fast forward to a few days ago, the phone slipped out of my hands and hit the pavement and cracked the big front screen and was flashing white lines at me. I looked up where to get a phone fixed and the young lad answered and told me they could have it done same day. I got into my car and left my phone with them within 2 hours the phone was fixed and looked like new. The newer models cost a bit to fix but is well worth supporting local business. At first it worked, then in a few weeks the screen digitized and it would not respond to touch anymore. After that the screen just went black. I could tell the phone still worked because it made a noise when I plugged it in. I stopped by the mall and spoke with Emil, the man who did the original work and he said to bring it in and he would take care of it. He was not there when I came today so I told the girl exactly what had happened, and left the iPhone to be fixed. Emil called me and said that the screen didn't work and asked me what I wanted him to do. I said to fix it so that it worked. When I came to pick it up he wanted to charge me another $90 for changing the screen again. I said that was ridiculous and that obviously the first screen was faulty and he should stand by his work. He dropped the price to $50. He argued with me that I had waited too long to come in (about two months had passed). $50 is still a lot of money for something I already paid $90 for. I offered him $30 (even though I didn't think I should owe him anything) and I debated with him for a good 15 minutes at his kiosk in the mall. I had my 3 year old daughter with me and couldn't argue anymore so I told him that I would pay him the $50 but I would also write up a review of his behavior and his business practices.
