Not a lot of reviews here on Yelp, but plenty elsewhere on this very cute property. This inn only…read morehas about 5 units in total, so it's a very small place. It's old too, but it's clean and maintained and cute! Can you tell it's old by the uneven floors and several layers of paint on the walls?--yes. While this isn't a luxury place, it's rather enjoyable. We stayed in the room called Little Snookie. That room is located on the left just as you enter the main front door. Check-in was completely contact-free. The owner/manager text us prior to check in with the codes to get inside. We had everything we needed for our short one-night stay, so I don't know how good or fast service would be if you needed something. I would suggest that if you're high-maintenance to not stay here...nor the island in general as this is a laid-back place! Anyways, I would love to stay here again especially if I could book one of the other rooms that are on the backside with views of the water. When we arrived, we checked out the back deck area and it was really nice. We saw a couple enjoying wine right outside their room door. It was really relaxing. We came back out to sit and watch the stars at night. Parking and/or leaving can be tricky. It's right off a fairly busy road, but especially if you have a normal-sized car, you can pull off the road like you're parallel parking, and then back into your spot. This makes it easier to leave. And once there, you don't have to leave for things like dinner and drinks. It's walkable to restaurants and ice cream. We walked just a little down the road for dinner outside at a restaurant (also on the water) playing live music. Book this place for the perfect romantic get-away!

It doesn't hurt that the place is painted turquoise and purple, either. The location is perfect, waking distance from galleries, shops, and restaurants. The folks who run it are very friendly and accommodating, allowing for a late check out, and even set up a shady umbrella for me so I could hang around in a lounge chair reading (and yelping) after I had vacated the room. I'm not into fishing or kayaking, but if you are, you can do that right from their pier. They've also got a shaded area with a grill and table outside for cooking up and enjoying your catch. There are some downsides, which could be a deal breaker depending on your personality, but they were things I could live with: I love when there's no carpet, it's easy to clean, so please mop it. I don't like getting into bed with dirty feet. (This seems to be a problem at all carpetless accommodations) There was a lot of noise from what sounded like construction next door. Don't know of this is ongoing. Ladies, if you take offense when men you don't know are a bit too casual/familiar, you may find the older gentlemen proprietor off-putting. Totally non-threatening though. Despite those negatives... I'd stay here again in a minute. I even looked at the map to see if my route north from Boca next week could accommodate a stop here. Regretfully, it doesn't but if I return to this area, this will be my first choice of accommodations.

Came in rather late and stayed for several nights. There is a new owner that was quite accommodating to my requests -- one of which was arriving at 11pm at night. A great view of the water and a large, green yard for my dogs to play in. During the day, you can walk around the shops of Matlacha. The area has that authentic old Florida feel, but it may be slipping away as more affluent people move into the area. I would definitely return when I am in the area.

First of all This is not a resort…read more Very laid back atmosphere. No one to check you in when you get there. I had to make a call to see what to do. Was told park anywhere and no one even asked our name. This is an oversized parking lot with 10 sites. Not all sites have full hookup as advertised. First site we pulled into had no sewer. If you don't have a 50amp RV, you must bring a converter as that's all they have, even though it's advertised as 30/50. Luckily we had one otherwise we would have had a problem. If it rains- be careful! Big storm last night and hookup area flooded where electric and sewer hookup was. Luckily we were hooked up prior to storm. Our neighbor who arrived shortly after storm was not so lucky and had to wait for area to dry up before they could hook up. It never did so they had to boondock at different site. My spouse was sick and we called the day before at 8am to see if we could reschedule. We spoke to someone who informed us to text the owners and they will get back to us when they can. I then texted. When I didn't hear back I called again at 3:30 and was told again the owners are busy and will get back to me eventually. I texted again at 5 and never heard back so we just went. It was frustrating I couldn't get an answer. The place is very chill. Family owned and ran. Met an owner who arrived hours after we hooked up. Very kind. Nice dock out back to watch sunrise and dolphins play. Chairs, fire pit and kayaks available for use. Island shack on property with laundry, shower, bathroom and couches. Walk to cute boutiques and art galleries and seafood restaurants.

I picked it out of necessity as I did not feel like driving all the way to fort myers to get a cheaper place. They were very friendly. This place is pet friendly which is an enormous plus. Everything outside is perfectly maintained which gives the best impression! The studio is very nicely set up. It had a clean but comfortable look. Everything looks modern and updated probably because it had to be redone after the hurricane. I loved the firm mattress, the large fridge and enormous flat screen roku tv. I liked they provided popcorn which I popped in the microwave. The shower got super hot very quick so no lack of hot water. Shampoo conditioner and body wash is provided as well as a sample of body lotion. There is a coffee maker which I personally didn't use. Really liked the little gazebo to sit out. Parking was available right outside my door which was convenient. It's still slow season so it was quiet. I did not use the amenities so cannot review on that. The little minor things were: I could hear the upstairs when they'd drop stuff. You can also hear every single word of the unit next door so I went to bed and got up with those people based on noise. The bathroom would sometimes make loud bubble noises probably related to plumbing issues. The place was not fully clean, it looked like there was construction type dirt in the bathroom. Also there were some ants but it's Florida so might be normal. And the outdoor light didn't work so it was very dark walking my dog. The AC is a wall unit and very loud, the lowest allowed is 70 degrees - I wish it was less because I was hot. Great place but there's some improvements possible here and there. I'd stay here again if needed! $125 for the night was a decent price especially for the location and amenities they offer. I'm sure it's more during season, I stayed end of September on a weekday.
