They don't always enjoy the school work, especially math and English because it's hard. But I, however, love the fact that they have corrected the six step Common Core bad habits they had previously learned in public school. They calculate faster and understand better now. Since Covid-19 hit, because they could learn at their own pace, they excelled at home, gaining more than half a semester. They can't wait to go back on campus. The school sign says they will be open 5 days a week and have 6 foot distancing. My kids have received good moral development and achieve high marks in Latin. Don't be fooled. If a kid struggles with math when they go back to public school, blame Common Core. The teachers here are patient and proficient.

I pulled my daughters out of Accelerated Academy a few weeks ago. They attended the 2020-2021 semester and halfway through 2022/2023. My youngest daughter was in Ms. Natalie's class. Over time I noticed my daughter get upset pertaining to things that she had to ask Ms.Natalie for. When I asked my daughter if she would like to bring heated lunch to school, she got very upset and started to cry stating that Ms.Natalie said her older sister was not allowed to heat up her lunch and she was to only bring cold lunch to school. My oldest confirmed that when she went to heat up her sisters lunch, that Ms.Natalie was irritated and asked her "What are you doing here?" She was then told this was no longer allowed. Yet, another little girl in Ms. Natalie's class is allowed to heat up food. Depending on the mood this teacher is in, or if there will be a full moon next week. Another occasion, my oldest daughter had to go over to my youngest daughters lunch table because I had packed her lunch in my youngest lunch box. She was told that she was not allowed to share food and to walk away. My daughter didn't eat lunch that day. For the 2022-2023 semester, I volunteered to do after school daycare and did so Monday-Friday 3-6 pm. For the 5 months I have witnessed Ms.Natalie (the kinder-2nd grade class "teacher") get in children's faces, scream at them, while pointing her hands/fingers in their faces. When they would try to respond or defend themselves and explain they are not doing what she is accusing them of, she screamed even louder. There is a 6 year old child who is so terrified of Ms. Natalie that she hides her food behind her back when she walks by. I was there when she was screamed at for sharing food. I was there when this child was screamed at and berated for playing hide and seek. (In a tiny classroom, with me 10 steps away knowing exactly where she was). I've witnessed numerous times bullying to this child. This child is terrified of Ms.Natalie and the behavior that Ms. Natalie is showing this child is nothing short of abuse. I have witnessed her get in kids faces inches away from them while screaming. If something was out of place in her daycare room all hell would break loose. If she was having a bad day(which frequently happened) the kids would get the heat for it. She pulled my 10 year old daughter out of class to ask her if she used her blankets in daycare. She proceeded to give my daughter a 10 minute lecture about how she cannot use her things, (Including toys?) in the daycare room. There are two brothers in her class, that frequently cry because she screams at them and belittles them. They seem to get it the worst. My daughter has told me that when a parent does walk in, Ms. Natalie will change her behavior and act "different" Ms. Natalie stated to me that she couldn't do daycare this year (as she previously did last year) because it wasn't good for her mental health. I was told by the Pastor while voicing my concerns, that he has had to get in between her and other children because the way she was acting wasn't okay. He also said for the past few weeks he has had to let her know some things are not that big of a deal and to calm down. Now that we left, she is currently in charge of daycare again. There are so many red flags here and our children are not being protected at Accelerated. This past weekend I received my daughters progress report that Ms. Natalie had sent to her new school. In this report, Ms. Natalie gave personal information regarding my family and proceeded to state that my 7 year old daughter has a learning disability because she can't write cursive good enough. I accept advice when it involves my children. Ms. Natalie's bullying, hateful attitude and lack of respect in caring for other peoples children makes her advice as lame as she is. If anybody were to experience Ms. Natalie the way I have, you would see this was her last attempt at a dig so for a minute she can feel powerful instead of realizing she is nothing but a big, sad pathetic bully who takes her aggression out on every child in her classroom and doesn't even have the common decency to allow my child to get her things or send them to her. My daughters new teacher who has a real bachelors degree from a credited university found Ms. Natalie's comment about learning cursive laughable. She explained how learning cursive so young is detrimental to them learning other things first. Also I was told the recommendations that Ms.Natalie suggested were not necessary. The only positive thing that came from my daughter encountering such a hateful woman, is learning to walk away from a relationship when it is disrespectful and doesn't benefit your life. Both of my children were also told if they are gay, they will burn in hell.

I could not even begin to thank the teachers and staff that worked with me when I attended there to help me go from being so far behind to being close to graduation.

Long story short I went to this school and I really liked it but you know I was really disappointed…read morein the principal for kicking me out of this school.My plan was to graduate at this school but then Mrs.Mahone became principal and everything just went downhill from here Mr.Lamas was the best principal here in my opinion I was getting my work done in this school and I tried my best at this school yes, I admit I would miss school but when I would go I gave it my all and for me to be getting kicked out was so horrible other kids over there have done so much bad stuff and they're still over there and they're not even miners anymore I was so disappointed even my teachers said it and it's true she shouldn't have done that.And another thing senior success wasn't for me.We all learn different and I didn't like sitting in one class all day long.I know it's still in her conscience in what she did to me I just needed to let this out in a healthy way but, thank god there's other opportunities like Vista Real Charter High School and they show that they care and they believe in you they don't doubt you but I guess everything happens for a reason, right? A family member of mine (freshman) was sexually assaulted by other students (sophomores), and the incident was reported to the principal and another faculty member in person and through email. There was no follow up until my brother emailed the staff member who "handled" the situation himself, to which she responded that the problem was essentially "taken care of." Not only is that subjective (and in no way truly centers the comfort the victim), it is false. My [family member] received no confirmation of his bullies' consequence and was forced to believe that the issue was resolved. The fact that there was no further discussion/ investigation involving the parents is SO weird. Definitely felt like a coverup so that the schools in the Conejo valley could keep masquerading as safe spaces despite the many offenses of racism, sexual harassment, and bullying that happen way too frequently. You guys disgust me. YOU DONT CARE ABOUT OUR CHILDREN. The entire administration needs to be replaced with people dedicated to protecting our children and setting them up for success.

All the staff are very helpful. The bus transportation system is great. The youth are checked everyday before school starts. No electronics allowed. They have a middle school and a high school, separate and the kids don't interact with each other. The staff have great training and know how to use intervention skills to help the youth.

The small classes and the attentive teachers were wonderful and made all the difference compared to a public high school. He was able to excel academically with knowledgeable teachers and AP science, math, Spanish, and English classes, he participated in leadership activities, participated as a drummer in a band all 4 years, lead an archery club, played soccer, acted and sang in plays that were well directed but also did not overwhelm his academic schedule, and he made friends in lots of social settings. The visual art classes and the ceramics classes were also superb. Best of all , my son had a wonderful college counselor who led us through the whole college application process . My son applied to 14 universities and got into 12 with scholarships. All the high school graduates with my son went straight to 4 year universities, among them, UCSB- my sons choice - UC Berkeley, UCSD, UC Santa Cruz, Boston University, Whittier College, and other great private liberal colleges as well. Ojai Valley High School was also very strict and they even expelled a few of my sons classmates who were using marijuana. Children leave this high school as young men and women ready to take on the challenges of universities and the next phase of their lives.

The faculty and staff are dedicated professionals. Hands down, the best K-6 experience in the Conejo Valley. Service Learning at each grade level, "Buddies" and "School Families" provide unique service and leadership opportunities amongst elementary schools. The "learn by doing" opportunities abound with hands on science labs, creative use of technology, and experiencing a variety of media in art class, to participating in projects benefiting the local community. My daughter has many fond memories of her years at St. Patrick's. She was exceptionally well prepared for the academic and social challenges of 7th grade at La Reina because of St. Patrick's, as were her classmates! Very glad she stayed through the end of 6th grade to experience all the benefits of being a family leader, expanded speech writing and public speaking opportunities, and the hands on science, tech, art, music and tech curriculum. My kids have been here for years. Took them out this year (mid-year) because couldn't deal with the…read moreadministration anymore. 1) Their teaching methods were terrible. Of course common core isn't their fault, because it's this dumb state. But they REALLY dove into it and chose the worst principals to teach. 2) The majority of teachers were extremely fake and only responded to bribes, otherwise your kids never made it to their "favorites." The only 2 teachers who really ever cared were Mrs. Guevara and Mrs. Hise (who I might note were a part of the old administration). 3) The administration went out of their way to sweep any bullying by kids under the rug and had a policy that the kids should walk away from bullies instead of reporting. In most cases the administration basically protected the bullies and facilitated their continued terrible behavior. When the bullies kids attempted to report any bullies to the teachers, the teachers would get defensive and cause problems for parents out of spite. 4) Beware if you are divorced parents. Over the years, I've come across enough divorced parents to know that they picked a parent to side with and went out of their way to make the other parent's life miserable. The parent who brought bribes, and who volunteered, gave and received gifts from the staff continuously. Butt licking like that only exists among dogs. Just warning ya, stay away. Not worth the stress. (And sure enough, their 10 star score on greatschools.org is now a 9. Wonder how long it takes before they keep dropping further. Probably won't take too long under this idiotic fake administration. Now Yelp thinks that my review shouldn't count. And why? I was a parent of kids (not 1, but 2) who went to that horrible excuse for a school.
