This review should be for the Adventure Pets in Mandeville, not Covington. This was absolutely the…read moreworst experience I have ever had at any business!! My son and I were visiting Adventure Pets in Mandeville and noticed the enclosures were very small and unkept. The Beta fish were in greenish colored water and ammonia build up was at the bottom. A very large rabbit was in an extremely small enclosure, next to an enclosure that was twice as big with rabbit bedding in it where the rabbit could have gone, but it was empty. I viewed the bearded dragon enclosure and was very sad to see no water and no food, this was also the same in other animal enclosures. They were small dragons and they wouldn't go through a whole bowl of greens and water in a day. I said something to an employee (and I said it in a calm, even tone) who said they must have eaten it all. the water and food dish had a black residue at the bottom that looked like a moldy consistency. When the employee went to get the water dish he said, "Well move so I can get the dish out!". I said to him, "That wasn't very nice. Y'all don't keep your enclosures very clean, his response was "well then walk right out the front door". He was very disrespectful. On our way out the door, I saw an older man who I thought might be the owner, as I am now learning, he is the owner's husband...others have complained about him. I said something to him about the employee being rude and what he said to us and the tanks being a mess. He told us to show him. We went back there with him and the young guy who got the water. Started saying nasty things to my son and IN FRONT OF THE OWNER! The employee then asked my son to step outside to which my son replied, "I'll step outside with you!" Then the employee said, "Get out of my face" My son wasn't even standing close to the employee, my son was next to me and behind the owner 5-6 feet from the employee. The owner stood there the entire time and said nothing to his employee about threatening his customers! I was completely appalled!! I signed up for Yelp just so I could report this to others! I plan to take it to the BBB. I could not believe the owner stood for this sort of behavior and talk to his customers!

He was diagnosed in heart failure at MedVet and responded very positively to meds for 5 months. Reminder to listen. Your clients live with their pets every day. It is highly inappropriate and unacceptable for a veterinarian to greet a new docile cat patient by…read moregrabbing him by the back of the neck as if he is a wild animal. It demonstrates extremely poor bedside manner, inability to and or disinterest in establishing any doctor/patient relationship, and raises a frightening concern about how an animal is treated when the owner is not present. Cat friendly certification should not be required for an animal to receive minimum nonviolent treatment. Given that over ten cats have gone to my usual vet for over 20 years without anyone ever violently grabbing one of them, it is absolutely unnecessary to assault a patient in that manner. Totally disgusted.
