Our server was super friendly. We went there mid week for lunch and it was quiet. We had an empanada and some yucas. The empanada was better which was unexpected (I love yucas). The star of the show was the ceviche. It was excellent. And some Inca Kola to go along made for a great meal.

Hubby and I showed up after exercise class yearning for chicken and we found this place as we were driving. A little above our usual price range for reviews, this adorable little place (think a handful of tables, lightly decorated to remind me of Peru. I got arroz con. Pollo and hubby got aji a la gallina. Both were delicious! The service friendly and while the food took a minute, everything was delicious! 5:5 will return

Delicious authentic Peruvian food in odd location with great service and traditional offerings. Having enjoyed Peruvian food elsewhere and happy to see a new place pop-up after another one had closed down a couple years ago, we made time to come try it out. The atmosphere isn't great and it's in an odd location. It was cold inside since it was below freezing outside, but the service was wonderful and the food was pretty good. We tried a few traditional dishes and enjoyed them enough to recommend the place to our friends and plan to bring them there to enjoy it as well.

I hadn't had Peruvian food in years so I really wanted to try Mati. I finally got around to it today. My roommate and I came by for dinner. They were welcoming and walked my roommate (who had never had Peruvian food) through the menu, and brought us a dish of seasoned dried corn to try. I got the chicha morada, which arrived in a large sturdy goblet and tasted great. We shared a serving of papa a la huancaina and an order of lomo saltado and both were spectacular. We brought an order of fried plantains to a friend who also enjoyed them. I'll definitely need to come back to try their aji de gallina!

Tried this new spot in Albuquerque and I think it might be the only Peruvian restaurant here Started with yummy plantains, then shared the ceviche--so fresh and perfect for two. Service was on point (friendly + checked in at just the right moments). Already planning our next visit and bringing friends along!

I'm not too familiar with Peruvian food, but someone highly recommended Mati, a newish restaurant off San Pedro, across from the fair grounds. I ordered the Chicha Morada which is a purple corn drink made with pineapple, green apple, and cinnamon. I wish I was sipping on some right now! For my appetizer, I ordered the Papa a la Huancaina which comes with boiled yellow potatoes topped with an Aji Amarillo cream sauce. And then for my main dish I ordered the Lomo Saltado which comes with marinated strips of sirloin, red onions, and tomato, served with rice and french fries. Everything was absolutely delicious! I want to go back and eventually make my way through the entire menu. The customer service was great. My server walked me through the menu since I wasn't familiar with any of the dishes. He was a great help and I'm thankfully for his recommendations!

Delicious as always! Back for more. We went with a small toddler -- the restaurant has high chairs & is very family friendly

Wow, what a wonderful Peruvian restaurant! I went this afternoon with a friend to try this restaurant. The inside is unassuming, simple and traditional. The service was perfect. The food was so delicious and flavorful. It seems like they use good quality ingredients. We started with some appetizers and then my friend had the Aji Gallina and I had the Lomo Saltado. Both were served with two different Aji sauces, the green (verde) was spicier , both were delicious. The meal exceeded all of our expectations . Can't wait to go back

Authentic Peruvian cuisine. Today I enjoyed the Ceviche Mati for lunch. It was large enough to share, accompanied with two types of Peruvian maize, and sweet potato. I'll be back.

My husband and I were so excited to find a new Peruvian place in town. We were seriously blown away by this food. My husband is Peruvian and I've been having brewing food for 20 years and this was truly some of the best. The owner is so nice and friendly and really aimed for the best experience possible for customers. I highly recommend it here!!

Wonderful tasting Peruvian food. With Peruvian food, it's all about the sauces. The owner gave me the aji verde, aji criollo and aji Huaicaina. All sauces were delicious along with the food. A must try when in ABQ.

The best appetizer ever! Chulpi corn!

The owner was absolutely delightful! And the food did not disappoint. We came because it is located in the neighborhood we grew up on and we also love trying new places. If you love to try new food and have or have not had Peruvian food you better try this place. It has all the traditional tastes of Peru and the love behind the food too. We will be back soon.

I was excited to see there is a new Peruvian Restaurant here in Albuquerque and it did not disappoint! Everything from the service to the food was incredible. The food was fresh and extremely delicious. The service provided was also very good. I will be going back soon and telling everyone about this place! The restaurant inside is decorated nicely with some Peruvian decorations. The only downfall is the parking situation. I parked in a lot near the restaurant and on my way back to my vehicle I was told not to park there by some aggressive employees. Don't park to the north of the restaurant.

I have tried everything on the menu at Pollito Con Papas and haven't been dissapointed ever. I…read morerecommend the Yuca or plantains as a starter. Great with the Aji (green) dipping sauce. As for mains, I typically gravitate to the grilled chicken thigh and stuffed potato. (I'm a creature of habit) Its filling and very flavorful with grilled goodness and the tater is stuffed with chicken. Its glorious. Next on my list of "gotta tries" is the Chimichanga with the cilantro rice. The chimi is crispy and not greasy. The filling is seasoned just right and has me craving more. I always slather some of the green Aji sauce on the chimi to create a heavenly compliment to the Chimmi! The cilantro rice is fluffy and perfectly seasoned where the cilantro doesn't overpower the flavors. I suggest coming early or later for lunch as it is busy from 11am-1:30pm. If you do have to wait if it's busy, is well worth it. The owner is welcoming and friendly. He always greets you with a smile and cheerful "Welcome". He also has stories he could share for days. The unassuming decor is inviting and comfortable. Tables are on a first come basis though diners rotate through fairly quick. If you are looking for a surprising meal with friendly service and great food, you owe it to yourself to try Pollito Con Pappas.
