Well, OMG, I finally found an Internal Medicine doctor in Virginia that I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! Dr. Roma Sowah is part of the INOVA Internal Medicine medical group - their office is located off of Elm St in McLean, and parking is a breeze as there are plenty of street parking available. The office is located on the 7th floor, and the clinic itself is bright, clean, and cheery, with ample amount of hand sanitizers on each table :D There is also a mini fridge with little Geyser water bottles for you to hydrate yourself on. The receptionist was friendly, and filling out the paperwork was a breeze. Dr. Sowah actually came out to introduce herself and the whole exam was wonderful (considering it's a medical appointment!) - Dr. Sowah was very nice, informative, took her time in answering and asking very thorough questions, did not rush, never made me feel ashamed for asking all my crazy number of questions, very organized, and very intelligent! She has awesome bedside manner, is gentle, and very detail-oriented. Another nurse came to check up on the vitals, and there was a nice phlebotomist (from Quest Diagnostics) on-site for all your bloodwork, so I thought that was very convenient! Thus the reason for having the trial removed with now NO thoughts of permanently having it placed inside of me. You caused a total mess on my back. My first follow-up appointment was canceled 10 minutes before the visit after I had already left work and arrived. The second time, I arrived to a locked office with no staff answering the phone. The third appointment was canceled because the provider had left the practice. The fourth time, I again arrived to a locked door and waited 35 minutes before receiving a call from the receptionist saying she had been at lunch. After four failed attempts and multiple instances of taking time off work, I cannot recommend this office. The level of disorganization and lack of communication was extremely frustrating and unprofessional.

The office was clean and comfortable to wait in. The woman at the front desk has a sweet soft voice and was a pleasure to check in with. They also have a phlebotomist on-site that can complete your bloodwork before or after the physical. How convenient to have a one-stop shop primary care practice. Dr. Meera Ramakrishnan is hands down the best PCP I have ever been to. Her ZocDoc ratings praised her bedside manner, and that is truly where she shines. As a first time patient she took time to get to know me and made me feel within 5 minutes of the appointment that I was hanging out with my best friend. She is so genuine in wanting her patient to feel comfortable and ensure they have the best care possible. What makes Dr Ramakrishnan unique is her 12 years experience as a night doctor where the setting was more casual and the quality of care required was high. I did not have to wait at all for my appointment. Shantell was really great and had a wonderful bedside manner. She spent time going over my medical history and discussing any concerns and issues. She was a great listener and provided me with a couple of referrals for additional follow-ups. She additionally provided me with some recommendations and prescription for things that I might need for an upcoming international trip. I came back the next day for some lab work which they do inhouse. I am not a fan of needles but the phlebotomist was really great and put me at ease. They also have a really great patient portal and all my lab work was posted there in less than 24 hours + with some recommendations on what I need to do to address some of the areas that were of concern in my lab results just 2 days later. Overall I was completely satisfied and am excited that I have found a great physician.

First the wait time was nearly 3 hours in the morning…read more After getting to the doctor who ran her through multiple labs, she was promised a call by the and of the day with prescription and results. It's been ~6 hours since the visit, no call, no results. Logged into their site - no after visit summary, no treatment recommendation. The clinic has no pager, no voicemail to get a follow up from the doctor or staff after hours and only a typical message to call 911 in emergecy. Result: no diagnosis, no prescription, no visit summary, like she hasn't been there.
