Unless you are willing to pay $100 per one on one session. The tutors aren't even skilled in math. My child has been with five different tutors at the center and only one of them knows geometry. Such an amazing place!! If you need your kid to bump up a grade in math or simply get on grade level, this is the ticket. It use to be a very personal experience. The previous owner made you feel she cared about your child, always available and updating you with progress. This center has gone down hill with its present administration. You will get vey nice tutors in a corporate environment. read more

There is no "individualized" tutoring /learning program of any kind. They give the students a test to see what they can or can not pass. Based on that, they give the students worksheets that they continue to do over and over at the center until they pass it. Binders are filled with same worksheets. It used to be a good place when the head of the center actually would work with the school's teacher and the students' math homework and books and figure out together where the student needs to focus. My daughter was struggling in math and her teacher recommended that we seek tutoring. Mathnasium assess her current level of skills and also offered to do approximately 20 minutes of homework assistance. Since she has started approximately 4 weeks ago, we have not had to give her any help with homework. She attends four days a week for an hour per session and she looks forward to going. The nice thing about this place is that for one thing you are getting up to 5 hours of math per week and homework assistance included. It is still too soon to tell how much your grades have improved because what they are currently covering in school is not where she is getting her instruction. Her instruction right now is designed for her to catch up so I think in about 2 more months we will start to see the difference. If you are considering tutoring and you want to get more hours than just a teacher coming to see your child twice a week, the cost is actually not bad when you break it down to the per session cost. read more
