Our daughter was struggling with the transition to high school tremendously. We turned to…read moreGradePower for help and the immediate and long term impact was astonishing. She worked with Allen on Geometry halfway through the first quarter and improved her mid year score by two letter grades. Andrew suggested our daughter stop by after school to study on off days for free! Being in a location free of distractions was priceless. This gave our daughter such confidence and skills to study that every other class grade improved one to two letter grades as well! If you're child needs help, Andrew, Allen and the rest of the staff are awesome! I highly recommend using them! Walt

They have a quality learning experience for aftercare and during summer programs. They focus on the education and development of young children. The employees keep you informed of upcoming events and changes. My daughter loves the staff and aftercare program along with the summer camp. This childcare facility has kept pricing affordable and below cost compared to most places. Also , they provide snacks and lunches at no additional cost . I've switched my daughter 3 times before I was referred to Child's Haven . You won't find another facility nearby that can match all these qualities and where both the parents and child love it. Thank you for providing exceptional services and a remarkable staff. Ms. Trenker and staff we appreciate all you do ..

I would not recommend Child's Haven Daycare in Valrico based on our experience. My daughter never…read moreenjoyed going and often dreaded drop-off. She constantly had to defend herself from bullies, which left her anxious and withdrawn. During this time, she developed night terrors and behavior issues she had never experienced before. The atmosphere did not feel nurturing. Some teachers seemed disengaged, and my daughter was even fearful of certain staff members. On one occasion, while we were at the pool next door, a regular visitor mentioned that they frequently heard teachers yelling at children inappropriately. That was very unsettling to hear as a parent. The facility itself also felt lacking--children don't have adequate cubby space, and there are odd, inconsistent rules that don't make sense. The front office staff were often dismissive and unapproachable, which made communication very frustrating. I regret not removing my daughter sooner. Once we switched her to a different daycare, all of her issues disappeared within weeks--she began sleeping through the night again, her behavior improved, and she was once more her happy, confident self. Every child deserves to feel safe, cared for, and supported at daycare. Unfortunately, that was not our experience at Child's Haven.

She has learned independence in her study habits and has become very confident. The after school clubs gave her a chance to try different forms of art, jewelry making, yoga, Chess, movie making, fencing, Spanish and French Club. She also got to do cross country her last year and will continue this sport into her next school. They have added a whole line of team sports where all the kids have a chance to try there abilities. The teacher and staff became family. They go above and beyond in all they do from teaching styles to all the extra activities. They do all sorts of community outreach from food and toy drives to household goods for single Mom's. There was even a Cat-Astrophe event once for a local cat shelter. This is a great way to make the kids feel that they do make a difference. During Drama class the kids actually write there own plays. They own it from the script, to the props to the costumes. The field trips were very epic and educational. My daughter learned lots while making memories and friends. The Academics were right in line with other local, public schools. This was important to us because our daughter will be returning back to the Public school system for her high school career. Proud Parent

The teachers…read moreare awesome they have the teaching techniques and patience to make learning fun and productive. They are always looking for different ways to help our children. The school creates a real family environment and knows each of the children and parents well. What other school could you walk into and they know who you are and how your child is doing without sitting down with a pile of paperwork The class sizes are small, so there is time for the teachers to work with the kids. The communication is A+. Not only do the teachers communicate with parents but the administration keeps all parents informed about what is going on at the school Prior to TDS we were in public school where every day was a challenge. I tell everyone how great it is to be part of the TDS community. If you are thinking about switching schools, ask for a tour or possibly see if your child can shadow for a day. That is what helped our son make the decision that was where he wanted to go to school.

Appalling and unethical in every way possible. I was looking for a private tutor to help my son…read moreimprove his 2nd try at the SAT. His first score was prob around 1050. We both spoke to the enrollment counselor via the phone. My son had a very unrealistic goal to raise his SAT to 1400. Love my kid but it requires a level of dedication that he doesn't have nor understands. The counselor had the gall to promise him that by seeing them twice a week for 1 hour and studying between 20-60 minutes using their prep materials and practice exams, but NO more than 60 minutes per day, would make raising his score to 1400 in two months very very feasible. Can you say con-man? But my son was adamant because he liked the counselor so much. My ex and I caved and hired them. For the record, you MUST GIVE then 30 days notice of intent to terminate the contract, which meant that on his first day, we would have to give notice so we wouldn't be auto-billed for the next month. Of course, my ex forgot to do that so we were sucked into two months for a total of $1600. During his time with them, my son complained that the teacher wouldn't answer his questions and would ignore all the areas where he was asking for help. Yes, Pooh on us as parents for enrolling him with a company that gave us bad vibes immediately but Pooh on them for just dishonest practices and terrible tutors.

All the teachers but the one with the glasses and the sweet Cuban lady seem to hate their jobs. My daughter's teacher was inherently lazy; and I caught her several times SCREAMING and cussing out my two year old. When I brought up the problems to the owner, she made a ton of excuses. We had some verbal sparring over the phone; and after I made SEVERAL reports to both the health department AND Hillsborough county, she told me to leave. I had already moved my daughter, so. If you research (which I wish I had done before) there have actually been a ton of complaints filed here over the years. It's obvious the owners are only in it for the money. They don't do a lot of projects with the kids, the food is crap, and everything is incredibly old and dirty. Any time you bring up problems, you get a ton of attitude. One time, I caught a staff member spraying bleach water next to my kid, and I asked her to stop and I got yelled at for it? So I brought it up to the owner and she said it wasn't bleach. It was labeled bleach water and I know what bleach smells like! I was told that my daughter had to wear shorts under her dresses or skirts because "the little boys in the class are curious" where TF are the teachers if the little boys have time to do that? My daughter shouldn't have to change what she wears because the teachers aren't doing their jobs. In addition, I've walked in several times and the kids were by themselves and the teacher was nowhere in sight! Stay away from this place; I wish I had never subjected my daughter to it. I hope it gets shut down.
