I hope my experience will however serve as a cautionary tale for other parents. Aman is just…read moreanother failed IT guy who likes to go after hard working individuals. My son attended the summer program at Positive Ally through the difficult summer of 2020. My goal was to support local struggling businesses in the pandemic as we reopened. At this time everything changed, from the ratio of student to instructor to the facility itself. This was in addition a new Covid surge. My son was withdrawn after 1 day. I asked the owner to allow us to withdraw from the program and offered him the ability to use the credit for a later time (where staffing ratios and the pandemic surge may be resolved). The guy refused. His tone changed to include personal attacks. He is clearly petty. He filed a lawsuit (served by his 2 kids to my home at 6:30am). If you have money he will come after you obviously he needs it but most businesses during Covid understood families protecting their kids. This individual was more worried about putting food on his table. There are too many decent after school programs this guy and his school is NOT one. Support one with integrity. We give thousands to charity he's just another charity case.

PA focuses on physical activities (basketball, running, soccer), personal development (public speaking, group discussion) and academics. In academics, they can help with school homework as well as create a customized curriculum per kid based on an assessment and your kids individual ability. The owner/director and staff are reachable and helpful. Overall - my daughter has been pretty happy with the center!

It has been so obvious how much they truly care for every kid. The state of the property can only be described as "magical". The children have the opportunity to play and learn outside, gardening, taking care of animals, and learning real-life skills through play. Our son has grown academically, learning to read and write...as well as just as a person - learning patience, sharing, regulating his emotions, etc. They also focus on healthy foods and habits and teaching a good foundation for how to take of your body and the earth. Something that matters a lot to me in addition to all the other things is cleanliness. The property inside and out is extremely well cared for and safe. All kids wash their hands on arrival and many times throughout the day - and they always keep parents in the loop if something is "going around". I would recommend Village Learning to anyone who wants a magical upbringing for their kids...a true home away from home for them.

They practice by doing which I really appreciate. They love being outdoors in Ms. Melodie's beautiful yards and it adds such a special touch of WA to be in the middle of the tall pine trees with horses, chickens and rabbits! I highly recommend Village Learning to any parent/child!!

I did a Google search of places that had swimming lessons and this place popped up. It looked like…read moreit had good reviews as well. I signed up. It was a little confusing because when I signed up, my credit card wasnt charged. For 2 kids, the initial price was $250, I believe. After a couple of days, I got charged and I logged in and it showed the days we were enrolled. The business looks like a house swimming pool. If the class is full it's 4 kids max for one teacher. I think each kid has about 4-6interactions for a half hour. One trip to the other side of the pool is considered an interaction in my observation. I could be wrong. Once the kids get to the other side, they are instructed to wait. During the waiting period, they need to put both hands on the wall. There's no play time -just waiting and instructing when you have one-on-one time. Once you're time is up, you are expected to leave the pool, I feel like. I suggest getting all ready to go before your scheduled time cuz the 1/2 hr goes by fast. You want to get the most out of the time you have. I like that the pool is heated and it's a good size. There's a lot of waiting time. I mean, a lot, if class is full.

We have been taking classes here since last year with Ms Audrey…read more Ms Audrey is amazing! My kid was reluctant to go to swimming classes after a long break but when I told her Ms Audrey will be taking the classes, she readily agreed. Ms Audrey is punctual, engaging and very friendly. She deals with the kids very patiently and is aware of their skill levels hence teaching them as per their needs. My kid has learnt a lot with her and is confident in getting into water. The pool is clean and warm enough that my kid has never complained about the water being cold. Sufficient parking is available.

A concerned mother, nurturer, provider, yes, but not qualified to help a child who has fallen behind. I know first hand, how falling behind can effect a child's self confidence. This is why I reached out to Sylvan for help. They evaluated my son's reading skills and made a plan for him to get caught up. By paying for a bulk package of hours I was able to save a bit of money. I am happy to say that he has become more confident and his skills have improved greatly after just 3 months. I am so excited to see where he is at the end of the summer.

My elementary school aged son has struggled with writing for years. He has a good understanding of…read morewriting concepts and grammar but gets easily overwhelmed when it comes to putting his thoughts on paper. He's starting middle school next year and my wife and I had hoped that Sylvan would be able to help him gain more confidence and work through some of the mental blocks he has when tackling writing assignments. When we signed him up for classes at Sylvan, we expected that he would receive tailored, individualized tutoring to reinforce the concepts he already knows, help build his confidence, and provide techniques and strategies for not worrying about getting it perfect the first time. Unfortunately, the lessons ended up being very boilerplate with minimal customization. The majority of each lesson was spent rehashing grammar concepts he largely already knows, and typically would only spend a few minutes on the creative process of writing. There was also significantly less one-on-one time than we expected, and he spent the majority of the time working on his own on a tablet. We hoped to discuss our concerns during our monthly meeting with the center director, but unfortunately the meetings ended up getting canceled at the last minute three times in a row so we finally just decided to pull him out at the end of the month. The staff are very nice but it certainly wasn't worth the very high cost, and I wouldn't recommend Sylvan for anyone in a similar situation to ours. Maybe it's better for older students or for students who need help with more defined, linear concepts like math or science.
