The teachers show no passions, no love, no empathy, no patients at all. The lead teacher left to do marketing only a few weeks after we joined. The principle of the school left only a few weeks after their grand opening. We withdrew from the school 2 weeks after joined but my kid only went to the school on and off for 4 days because of non stop crying. I saw that my kid held his lovey, crying and chasing the lead teacher around the classroom but the teacher wouldn't even take a look at him, my heart was broken at the time I saw it. One day I saw a little bruise around his arm pit that looks like nail poke. It might be an accident but it might be the teacher grabbed him very rude and her nail poked in. We requested to talk to the principle and the teacher and we were being told that the next week is grand opening, there were 200 colleges to join so they were gonna be busy. We had to schedule the appt next week. The lead teacher, I'm happy that she went to do marketing because she truly has no heart for childern. I would give 0 star if I can because this is truly not a place for babies.

We had some difficult family health scares that led to us being out of state on and off. Rather than making it a stressful and difficult situation, Rj and Shira were extremely supportive and offered to have us return when we came back to Seattle and were more settled. I look forward to my son returning in August! While I can't speak to other family experiences, I can say that our personal experience at Evergreen has been wonderful.

We could not be happier with the environment, atmosphere, fellow classmates/parents, and especially Ms. Merrill and the other teachers in our daughter's classroom. The encouragement for the kids to be independent, while also feeling fully supported, is very apparent. The works and activities are diverse and stimulating, and ultimately foster a love of learning. Our daughter talks so much about school, her classmates and teachers. She enjoys going, which as parents, we love. We truly feel that BMS, and in particular Ms. Merrill's classroom, are the right fit for our daughter as she continues her early education journey. We are incredibly pleased that our daughter will be able to have Ms. Merrill as her teacher for the next 3 years. We're excited to watch her continue to grow and develop as a young human...and BMS - Rossano Campus is such an integral part of that growth/development. Thank you BMS - we're very happy we found you!!

We enrolled our daughter in IMA in July 2019 and have been very happy with it so far. The…read moreMontessori approach is great and focuses on helping your child to become more independent through teaching them life skills, which is a great fit for our parenting philosophy. Yimin Chen, the owner, is responsive to emails and very clear and direct. Our daughter is in Ms. Luz's toddler classroom. Ms. Luz is everything you could hope for in a teacher - very knowledgeable, caring, and experienced. We regularly get photos of our daughter doing new tasks we didn't even know she could do, and the teachers always seem to be coming up with new activities. Other assistant teachers seem to know our daughter and greet her by name. We have not had any incidents similar to what others described here (teachers not responding appropriately to children hitting, etc.) We felt Yimin was very clear on tuition during our tour including the more complex details around deposits, summer being billed weekly, and an extra fee for childcare during vacation weeks. There is an annual tuition option in the contract which gets you a discount but we opted for the monthly plan which avoids any lock-in. Communication from Brittney in the IMA office is regular and repeated, billing is clear and straightforward through Brightwheel, I didn't see any unreasonable clauses in the contract, and they are working to build more of a community with the families by doing more activities where parents are invited. Lunch and snacks are all provided and have good, healthy variety. The school brings in teachers to teach additional optional extracurricular classes (e.g. music, dance) for an additional fee. There are regular vacation days/weeks/parent teacher conference days, but IMA provides childcare for many of these (the head teachers are not there but "daycare" is provided by the assistant teachers). I like this as it means the head teachers are being given vacation/time off (Ms. Luz will regularly tell us of her trips, so hopefully the teachers are being paid decently, too.) IMA is an immersion school, but I can't comment much on how effective it is as we don't speak Mandarin and there hasn't been any info about what Mandarin they're learning. In addition, many of the assistant teachers appear to only speak Mandarin, making it challenging to communicate with them in English. However, we are able to communicate effectively through the app or Ms. Luz. It may be that the extent of the Mandarin immersion going on in the Toddler classroom is the assistant teachers speaking it exclusively (perhaps the kids are taught songs or read Mandarin books, but again I don't know). That said, the kids are quite young so that may be sufficient - but would be great to have some communication like "here is a Mandarin song we learned", or "here are some Mandarin words we learned" (with a link to a YouTube video), or "we learned about the Chinese New Year" so us non-speakers can help reinforce :-). If the language immersion is a big selling point for you, you may want to probe more on it during your tour - I just can't speak to it well. The only other issue we've had is that the stand-up diapering procedure (typical at Montessori schools) seems to result in a lot of (sometimes bad) diaper rash for our daughter, and sometimes the diapers are not logged reliably in the app making it hard to tell whether the assistant teachers are not changing her often enough or not cleaning her well enough. She basically never gets diaper rash when she's at home with us but a couple times has gone back to school after a weekend/vacation and bam, diaper rash. However, the teachers seem to be responsive in addressing these concerns.

First of all, the list of items that parents are required to prepare is really quite long. I…read moreunderstand the intention -- things like emergency biscuits for earthquakes are for safety -- but honestly, if a real earthquake happens, shouldn't the school be able to provide such basic emergency supplies? This has created unnecessary stress and burden for parents. Second, I feel it's unreasonable to expect a two-year-old child to manage their own belongings, follow strict rules, and not be allowed to bring a favorite stuffed toy for comfort. My child has told us directly that they don't like this preschool. At this age, children should be playing and being cared for -- not subjected to discipline and education as if they were older. Lastly, I've noticed that the teachers seem to change very frequently. This gives me the impression that the school management might be unstable, which makes parents feel uneasy and less confident about the environment.

As a Montessori kid myself and a mom of five who've attended seven schools, I can say without…read morehesitation that Chestnut Montessori is the most impressive and genuinely exceptional school our family has experienced. The teachers are deeply skilled in true Montessori practice--they don't just borrow the "Montessori" label, but actually live out the philosophies and methods. Chestnut Montessori fully embraces and lives out Dr. Maria Montessori's vision and approach, and the impact of that on my boys has been extraordinary. In such a short time, I've seen tremendous growth in their self-confidence, abilities, social skills, and overall development. I was hesitant starting the boys in school at a young age, but Chestnut Montessori earned our family's trust in the first interaction at the tour (when we left the tour, before my husband could buckle his seat belt he looked at me and said, "this is it. Cancel all the other tours.") The teachers' expertise, loving care, and genuine investment in their students shine through every single day--from drop-off and pickup, to communication with the administration, to the photos shared throughout the day, and the thoughtful extra-curricular events. I'm beyond grateful for CMS and so thankful to have found a school that truly supports my children in becoming exactly who they're meant to be. We'll hope to be here for the long haul!

We had a very disappointing experience at Living Montessori and would not recommend this school to…read moreparents in the area. The school enforces a very strict 9:00 a.m. arrival policy--if you are even one minute late, your child is not allowed to enter. This policy was never clearly communicated during the tour, so parents should read the contract very carefully. Even for doctor's appointments, they expect everything to be completed before 9:30 a.m. and require advance notice. For children under four, who frequently get sick, this lack of flexibility is unreasonable and unrealistic. The extracurricular programs were also a waste of time and money. My son was enrolled in soccer classes (ages 8-10), and we never received any weekly updates, photos, or videos. Despite repeatedly asking for feedback, we were never informed about how our son was doing in these classes. The administration was another major issue. Our interactions with Aliya were extremely frustrating. The school is holding $3,600 of our money and refusing to either refund it or apply it toward our son's tuition. We had to delay our younger son's start date for personal reasons, and Aliya confirmed via email that the $3,600 could be used whenever our son started. They have since changed their stance and are now refusing to honor that agreement. Please be very cautious before committing to this school, as they seem to find every possible opportunity to keep parents' money. We moved our elder child out within a few months, and he is doing significantly better at a different Montessori school.

The original start date was set for the end of the year. When my plans changed, I contacted the center to request a revised start date. I was explicitly assured, both over email and verbally, that this would be accommodated and that the deposit would be carried over. The center has now reversed this position and is not honoring those commitments. They required us to repeat the tour, during which the staff member conducting it was dismissive and disrespectful. They are also requesting an additional assessment. When I asked whether the deposit would be refunded if the assessment was unsuccessful, they explicitly refused. Withholding such a significant amount of money under these circumstances is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about their business practices. This reflects poor ethics, lack of transparency, and unprofessional handling of families. Commitments made in writing and verbally were not upheld.

It makes sense for us, but I'm really sad to be leaving Primrose, because we've had such a wonderful experience. This daycare is perfect for Type A parents such as myself. They use the Procare app, so you get details throughout the day on what they've done, eaten, diaper changes, etc., plus cute photos of them playing/doing activities. I know many daycares use these apps now, but the level of detail you get in the daily reports seemed higher than most. They also update the app mostly during downtime like the kids' naps, so you don't have to worry that they're fiddling with an app instead of interacting with your kid. My son started at 12 months, following a precipitous cross-country move and and separation from our nanny who had been the only caregiver (besides his parents) that he'd ever had. So not exactly an ideal situation. But his teachers were so caring, and he transitioned so quickly. He runs into the classroom when we drop him off in the mornings, and he so clearly loves his teachers. The two big ways that Primrose as a school stands out from other daycares are that a) they have an actual curriculum, and b) the management is exceptionally organized and alert to parent concerns. For the curriculum, I don't want to be that mom that's pushing academics for my infant, but I really appreciated that they had an established curriculum designed around appropriate developmental milestones-- for young toddlers, most places are just focused on watching the kids. For the management, there's nothing like starting your kid at a school in the middle of a pandemic to get a sense of how the management handles an emergency, and Primrose is stellar. They had invested in a hospital-grade sterilization system before the pandemic even broke out, they have rigorous protocols to isolate classrooms, and they're exceptionally communicative and organized. Overall, it's a wonderful school. Saying your toddler goes to "school" seems weird, but Primrose has definitely surpassed the category of "daycare."

Alongside the daily curriculum and theme days, the school also hosts splash days and scooter/bike days during the summer months, which are a big hit. I recommend Primrose School.
