Hard to believe I've never reviewed Eagle Rock Mathnasium. My kids have not gone there for years now (they are too old). However, I was just talking to them about how great Mathnasium is. Eric is the absolute best, as are the staff he hires. My kids have never struggled with Math, they just enjoyed going to Mathnasium. It always inspired a true love of math, which you really can't put a price on. Although Mathnasium is kind of expensive, if you can swing it, it's definitely worth it. I really want people to know that besides the whole "teaching math thing," Mathnasium is just one of the best businesses in Eagle Rock. They take their mission seriously and provide a level of customer service rarely seen at any business anywhere. The teachers here are so kind and patient and positive. And Eric, who runs the place, has such a great rapport with the kids and is very communicative and responsive with the parents. They have a unique way of teaching that has really helped our daughter. It's all very well thought out to created building blocks of knowledge. My second grade daughter has been attending Eagle Rock Mathnasium for almost a full year and the results have exceeded anything I expected. When she started she was very introverted. Rarely asked questions in class and during the year of online school when we tried to help there were A LOT of tears. It seemed there was no help we could give that wouldn't end in frustration for all involved. After her first trial lesson, she came out and asked when she could go again. Which I thought was odd but thought - great let's just ride this wave for a while this is good. Well after nearly a full year she still has the same level of enthusiasm for Mathnasium. I don't think she'll ever want to leave. I've given her the option to take other sorts of lessons after school but if it means losing Mathnasium time - the answer is a quick no. She has turned into this amazingly confident girl in the past year and I credit it much to her experience with her teachers at Mathnasium. She really likes all of them and I have never heard one complaint. I've met with the people that work there and they all have a lovely demeanor and great attitude. I am also thrilled about this because I know first hand how much girls can suffer in school due to a lack of confidence in Math skills. I feel like we are tackling this issue early and winning. All of the above is in addition to her already learning amazing math skills that will set the foundation for the rest of her life. I cannot recommend Eagle Rock Mathnasium enough! read more

Happy to be sharing an awesome math success story! Mathnasium is an awesome resource! Our middle schooler was struggling with math. We decided to have her evaluated at Mathnasium, & then signed her up for Mathnasium tutoring. She has been attending tutoring three times a week for the past four months. She went from earning D's and F's, to now mostly A's and a few B's. Pre-algebra can be tough, but the tutors at Mathnasium have a method to improve math basics, and also work to reinforce current math concepts. The thing we love the most is her overall confidence. Not just with math, but with all of her academic subjects. This Mathnasium experience has improved her overall learning as a student. She also loves all of the teachers at Mathnasium (Shout out to Erik and Vache)! Five stars for value, and for awesome results. 100% worth the investment in your child!I Update April 15- This update for Mathnasium is during the pandemic. We have continued to utilize Mathnasium for math tutoring to support or child while the schools are closed. She has benefited immensely from this continued support! I am absolutely going to prioritize this instructional service for my child! She is able to connect with a tutor for one hour via zoom platform. She basically has a teachers undivided attention and they can even write on the screen of the iPad to solve problems. She has stayed extremely focused with her math and learning, both the Mathnasium and school assignments. Both of my younger sisters (7th and 8th grade) started attending Mathnasium in Eagle Rock on 11/01/2019 because both were struggling in their math classes. Since then, my sisters say they feel better in class in terms of confidence. Now, one of my sisters reports that her classmates ask her for help! And they have both gone up two letter grades in the span of about two months! I think that's pretty incredible progress. My daughter Roxy, 14 years old, was struggling with her homework. 8th grade math is complicated. She goes to a great school, Immaculate Heart Middle School - but her math teacher moves fast and doesn't always explain things well. We needed help right away and her final is approaching fast. Brent took us in that same day. After ONE session Roxy said this: "I feel like I have the keys to the Universe." She was beaming and so excited to have learned what she needed to be successful. She was saying how the tutor helped her make sense of everything she was learning. She finally understood how it all connected. She said SHE could teach the class now. We are going back for sure. Very easy going, but focused on the kids. I like the location - it is convenient to our home - but the actual facility is clean and spotless. My 3rd grade daughter has been coming here for about 4 or 5 months now and her confidence in her math skills has really gone farther than I expected! She no longer sees math as a challenging school subject - now it's a constant game of testing her skills and applying them in new ways that have nothing to do with school and academia. At school when her teacher presents a new lesson, she catches on much quicker and I don't have to re-teach the skills at home. She just gets it now. Sometimes I'm blown away when she applies new mathematical techniques to her every day life as it relates to things like time, money, art/science projects, or games.. it's really just fun for her to feel so confident in her ability now. The tutors and the owner Eric really engage with the students and give them a lot of one-on-one time. The atmosphere of the tutoring center is upbeat and youthful, and really encourages kids to enjoy figuring out mathematics in new and fun ways. We are so thankful to have found Mathnasium of Eagle Rock. My daughter had been bored with the math she was getting at school and was never truly challenged or allowed to advance at her own pace. Now, she's excited to go to Mathnasium and has a renewed love of math. She thinks it's so interesting to be taught such a vast variety of concepts all with different and new strategies. She is thinking about math problems now in a different way and learning new things at such a fast pace. She feels proud of her progress. My daughter had lost confidence in her math skills last year during the third grade so my goal this summer was to regain that lost confidence. Eric and the tutors at Mathnasium in Eagle Rock completely delivered on this goal! They were attentive, understanding, had an effective plan, and always openly communicative. My daughter came and went to Mathnasium with a skip in her step and a smile on her face. Concepts clicked for her that hadn't before and the fun of earning rewards for her hard work also helped (!) The business is very well run (clean, organized) with a great, fun vibe for the kids, often with music and some laughing happening somewhere. Mathnasium is the best academic intervention we have ever had. It has completely shifted our son's experience with math. He went from hating math, underperforming, and lacking basic skills and confidence to feeling confident, trying hard, and performing excellently at school. He originally tested at a very low elementary level in math and did a summer's work in Eagle Rock before entering sixth grade. He just received 3s and 4s on his first quarter report card, which he immediately went to show Brent. His work there has been truly transformational. He loves going. The staff is friendly, and the kids form strong connections without being disruptive of one another's work. Brent goes the extra mile with each kid, and our son has benefited tremendously. He knows he can get homework help there if he needs it. The 2:1 ratio allows him to work independently in a supportive environment without growing too dependent on a single tutor.
