We signed our son up in June 2025 for tutoring due to the 1:1 support and personalized plan to close the gap in his skill set and bring him to grade level. The first few months operated as expected, but in early 2026 our son started coming home saying that tutors had not been getting paid and that most were planning to quit. At first I questioned the validity of those statements until I received a text from a tutor using my son's phone, while he was in a session I was paying for, to confirm what I was told was true. Following the exodus of tutors, we still sent our son because we had paid thousands of dollars for tutoring, but he continuously reported having the location manager manage 4-5 kids doing work independently, not instruction in a 1:1 setting. Sitting my son in a room for 2hr to do reading assignments does not meet the expectations laid out in our contract, nor does it warrant paying thousands of dollars. I contacted Emily, owner and manager of the location, requesting contract termination and a partial refund. She agreed to contract termination and said they do not give refunds, trying to claim we had used 180 hours in less than 9 months. I requested all supporting data for her claim three weeks ago and have not been able to get a response since. I highly discourage enrolling in this location. The mismanagement is apparent on multiple levels and our experience leaves us in a position where we feel like we have been scammed.

I had to call and email several times to get on the schedule for our remaining classes. The Director has STILL yet to call me back but luckily the woman who schedules is trying her best. No more meetings to give progress updates on how our kid was doing; no conversations about where she was making progress or where she was continuing to have challenges - just seemed to be focused on money. The one meeting that was scheduled with their new person, they didn't show up or have the courtesy to let us know. We sat there for 15 minutes before being told they wouldn't be in. That person also didn't personally call to apologize for missing the meeting (had someone else do it). The whole experience recently changed and it no longer feels collaborative.
