The owner here is insanely good peoples. He always greets us when we come in. The place is like a library. Every kid in there seems to be taking their math seriously, and they should! I like it here, my kid likes it here, and she seems to be learning. Although anything would have helped my little struggling kid. The neighborhood is a tiny bit sketch (by Tri-Valley standards i guess), but it's fine. It's near a dollar store and a pub. If you'd like to connect the dots, you may. But anyhoo, if your kid is struggling with math, take them here. You'll see a nice improvement. We're leaving for a bit, only because we have to tighten some finances. I wanted to share my personal experience with Mathnasium in Dublin so other parents know what to expect. A friend recommended Mathnasium to me, and I found the Dublin location online. I eventually registered for an assessment through their Facebook page. At no point during the online registration process or on the Facebook page did I see any mention that there was a fee for the assessment. I have no problem paying a reasonable assessment fee if it is clearly disclosed upfront. In fact, my daughter has had assessments at two other tutoring centers, and both clearly stated the cost during registration. Transparency is important. The assessment had been scheduled for about three weeks. A few hours before the appointment, the owner called me and said he wanted to go over a few things about the assessment. I was at work and in a hurry, so I told him my daughter would be attending with her father the following morning and that I understood it was simply an assessment to determine her level, after which we would decide whether to enroll.I then said- and it is free of cost.  He then mentioned there was "a small fee." When I asked how much the fee was, he repeatedly said he wanted to discuss several things with me before disclosing the amount. I explained that I simply wanted to know the fee because it had not been disclosed anywhere online. Since my husband was taking our daughter, I did not want him arriving and being surprised by an unexpected charge. After I asked several times, he finally told me the assessment fee was $114. Again, I want to emphasize that the amount itself was not the issue. I was simply disappointed that the fee had not been disclosed during registration. At that point, the conversation changed. His tone became noticeably less pleasant, and he began asking questions such as, "What are you looking for for your child?". "Why did you register- then ?"  and "Why do you want your child here in this program?" I found the conversation uncomfortable because I was simply trying to understand the assessment fee before deciding whether to proceed. I explained that I was working and needed to get off the phone, but I felt pressured to continue the discussion. Ultimately, I canceled the appointment. My decision had nothing to do with the $114 fee. I am happy to invest in my daughter's education. What concerned me was the lack of upfront disclosure about the assessment cost and the change in tone during the conversation. As a parent, first impressions matter. If I don't feel respected during the enrollment process, it makes me question whether that is the environment I want for my child. This review reflects only my experience with the Dublin location. I cannot speak about any other Mathnasium centers, and I'm sure other families may have had different experiences. read more

I had originally considered enrolling my children in Mathnasium summer programs, but after today's experience, I no longer feel comfortable supporting this location. While picking up my child from middle school, I briefly stopped in the red zone because I was not feeling well and currently have a fever. Within seconds, the business owner, Mr. Siva, approached my vehicle aggressively, yelling and cursing loudly in front of my children and other students. He was not law enforcement or school staff, yet his behavior was intimidating, hostile, and completely inappropriate for someone running a business centered around children and education. My children were genuinely frightened by the interaction. Regardless of parking frustrations, there is never an excuse to speak to parents that way in front of children. What concerns me even more is that Mathnasium as a brand chooses to franchise locations to individuals who conduct themselves in this manner. It seriously makes me question the professionalism, judgment, and values of the company as a whole. Because of this experience, I will be taking my children to another math tutoring center moving forward. read more

Thank you Mr Siva! We are so glad to find you. Our son was very advance in Math before Covid-19. With school online learning, it pushed him to struggling in Math. He fell Math at the final and need to repeat it this year. So we searched for help. We are so fortunate to find Mathnesium in Amador valley Dublin. Mr Siva and his team help our son to get back to his full abilities and add advance Math skills. 1st meet they will do full assessment on our son to find his weakness and strong points and use that to prep our son worksheet. They will let us know when they think our son need another placement test to move to the next level. Today Last week of 8th grade, our son passed the Advance Math placement test. He get skipped to the level that he should be. He's so ready for freshman with fully Math confidence. We'll be with them til our kids graduate HS. So I signed up for the risk free assessment at the Dublin Location, and entered all the information that they asked for online. The owner called me just before 8pm the day before the scheduled assessment, while I was an another call with an attorney that costs hundreds per hour. I told him it was a bad time, he was slightly rude, insisting we speak about something, and I told him all the information was already online, and I couldn't get rid of him politely.... and I finally told him, I HAD TO GO, and he can email me any information. Later his email stated there was a fee, and he wanted to have a call with me the day before the assessment. My calendar was already full until 30 minutes prior to the assessment. So I asked him what the fee was, and what else did he need. He proceeded to respond in an email what the fee was used for, not how much it was and being condescending that I should have taken his call. So I again asked how much it was, not what it was, and apologized for not being clear. And his response was very tacky more condescending, and yet he still didn't answer my question. I told him to cancel my appointment as I didn't think it would work out. His response was he already knew that from our first encounter. I certainly don't want a guy running a tutoring business with my child, to be condescending, or have communication problems, or have ego issues. And he was the owner. I went to the San Ramon location of Mathnasium, the staff was much more friendly, and their assessment is FREE. Kumon Learning's assessment is also free, and very close to the Dublin Mathnasium location. Another reviewer commented that they don't disclose the fee until after you arrive. Save yourself some time, and go to Kumon first, and then the San Ramon Mathnasium. read more

Five stars! First of all the owner Siva is so nice, easy to communicate with and very professional. I called and left a message to inquire about rates and the process. Siva returned my call in about a day and set up a consultation. He had my child do a math assessment and went over rates. As far as rates, he had a few programs. The only 2 I could remember were the month to month and 6 month commitment. We opted for the month to month. I believe there was a fee for the assessment and the rates seemed a little high but I can see it goes towards paying for overhead which probably includes supplies, tutors, rental space and other things needed to operate. It is recommended that your child attend 2-3x/week to get the full benefit. You just drop in and your child stays for an hour. There are also incentive programs which I haven't looked into yet. I usually just sit in my car or go to Michael's or dollar store to pass the time. Your child will have a binder of assignments and they work on it for an hour. There are instructors that float around and will correct the work and help you if you don't understand or need clarification. You can also bring your homework and they will help you. My child has been attending for about 3 months now and I can see her confidence in math as well as her telling me she now loves it! We are extremely pleased with the customer service, education, and instructional services that we have received from Mathnasium of Dublin. The instructors are friendly, patient, and highly trained to work with kids. In addition, the owners of the store/instructional center have gone the extra mile and their efforts have become extremely apparent in our kids performance in Math. The teachers at school are asking us what we are doing and our answer with happiness is Mathnasium of Dublin. Our fourth grader is significantly ahead of her peers; she has been adding fractions a few months ahead of her classmates and loves the extra challenge. Our second grader is a very visual learner and she loves the manipulative techniques that the instructors use to teach the concepts - it is great to see that she is more confident in her math answers. The methodology used for training both of our children over the past few months, since the opening of the store in October 2011, has been impressive to the point our kids look forward to Tuesday and Thursdays of every week. My 6 year old has been attending this Mathnasium center for math tutoring for the past two months and he cant get enough of it! He is always asking when he can go back. The staff is very patient and understanding and he enjoys working with them. We recently had a parent teacher conference and his teacher shared that she is very impressed with the progress he is making and his understanding of the concepts. Most importantly this math tutoring center has made math fun for him. I highly recommend this tutoring center for math to all parents whose kids need help in math. read more

Parents BEWARE OF EXTREME UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF. For the Summer, I wanted my daughter to start learning Algebra and on the phone the owner assured me this is something they could do - to teach algebra. But instead they tested her on a common core curriculum for a year behind her year (failed to note correctly what grade she is going into) and so apparently, my daughter did not do that well on the common core material that she may have learned 2 grades ago. So when she showed up, they started giving her text books on a common core curriculum. When I corrected the male staffer (who also reeked with horrible BO), he was very flustered and confused but then said I'd have to talk to the owner when she returns from vacation. The real problem began when I left the facility. The male staffer with the strong BO brought over my daughter's test results and started berating her for each of the questions that she got wrong while the room full of kids and other staffer just gawked. Basically, his point was that my daughter was stupid for not doing so well on the test and he was letting her have it by venting all his anger out at my 13 y.o. instead of me. And of course, the other staffer just sat there, doing nothing, waiting for him to finish. HORRIBLE PLACE, HORRIBLE PEOPLE TENDING TO THE CHILDREN. Only good for having it as a place for kids to do their math homework. read more

Mathnasium in Dublin is a good place for math tutoring for kids. The instructors are patient and very attentive. They have good rapport with the students. The owners and staff truly care about the student's learning progress. I also like that Mathnasium is located in Shamrock Village, which is near several grocery stores. Mathnasium of Dublin is a great center for school age children to learn, review, and master basic to advance math skills. The staff at this center treat you like family and work around the needs of the children. I have two (8 & 10) who enjoy going to the center. They are motivated by the attitude of their instructors who are firm but very gentle. My children are not intimidated or overwhelmed by math facts. They are not afraid to make mistakes or ask questions. Most of all, they like receiving prizes they have earned. Mathnasium of Dublin helps them set goals and track their learning progress by awarding them with card punches each time they complete a lesson segment. After earning some number of punches my children receive art supplies, toys, games, shirts, etc. My son is making great progress in his math skills so that his teacher in school has moved him to the next level of his learning. My daughter understands the math concepts better and able to apply the concepts. She is now advanced compared to her peers in 3rd grade. This is a wonderful center. Mr. Phillip, Mrs. Divya, and Mrs. Ritika know how to work with children at all levels. They adjust to their learning styles and personalities as well. They are passionate and hold a genuine caring attitude. They will never make you feel like "just another patron". Give your children a chance to suceed in math by helping them through Mathnasium of Dublin. I cannot say enough good things. read more

This is great - We have no issues with math since we started. It's not just homework help, but really learning math, and he does it at his own pace, so he is in control of his achievements. My son doesn't always like to go there, but he is feeling confident in math and it translates to other subjects also. He also likes the idea of being a "math geek", and he is finding the fun in math. My son, 3rd grader, liked Maths. But after starting Mathanasium, he loves Maths. The significant change that I have seen in him is the remarkable increase in his confidence level. The problems in school or in the spectrum books/star testing samples looked very easy to him compared to the questions he would practice in Mathanasium. He said to me "Mom, give me some challenging questions". He now speaks the language of Maths. He will be like "Mom give me 1/4 of this pizza". "Mom, how many fluid ounces can come in this glass?" I was glad to see that the plan prepared for my son was based on his performance in the assessment taken by the teachers at Mathanasium. It was a plan made specifically for his needs. What topics he needed more practice on, what terms he needed to be more familiar with and so on. He also loves the Math games that are played at the center after their session is over. I never realised that kids could learn so much from Math games. They have these small tools to explain how fractions are formed, what they mean, number lines, shapes, read clock etc . About the staff, all the teachers are excellent. They help the kid understand concepts better. They would provide the tools or the help/hints for my son to solve the problems and not solve the complete problem for my son. This gave him alot of confidence because he started believing in himself. The directors Ritika and Divya are awesome. Being mothers, I think they truly understand what a parent expects. They became my son's friends. They would play Math games with him, discuss his school homework. They built his confidence even through those games. I am so glad I took the step. read more

I'm very thankful we found Mathnasium in Dublin. Divya, Ritika and their staff are very professional and genuinely care about each student's progress. They tailor make each student's program. After performing initial math assessments, they were very careful in assembling our son's binder and inserted worksheets specifically catered to the skills that he needed to work on. In addition, our son had missed a couple of weeks during the summer because he had to attend summer school. I forgot to tell Divya and Ritika and when we returned after summer school had ended, they made sure to let us know they noticed. Other places would treat kids like a number and not have noticed my son had missed attending. I appreciated that they carefully monitor the student's attendance and progress. Further than that, the tutors they employ to assist are excellent. Our son, a 13 year old, said he was so impressed that the tutors were "cool" and "smart". He is able to relate to them. And, every time I am there, I always receive a warm reception. We used to employ a private math tutor for our son, but he hated it and it was pretty expensive. Mathnasium of Dublin provides excellent service and reasonable rates and is willing to work with each family. Of course, they are out there to make some kind of profit to survive, but they are definitely not out there to rob us blind. You can tell that Divya, Ritika and their staff are really passionate about math and helping kids and teens to learn. read more

I am currently a student at the local high school, Dublin High, and I was having some trouble in my Algebra II with trigonometry class. I went to Mathnasium and loved the experience I had. The staff, while mostly new, were all impressively adept, and I always received help when I asked, but most importantly I liked the way I was treated. Everyone from the staff to the other students treated me with respect and kindness. None of the instructors treated never treated me like a little kid, which would be easy to do when mostly they work with younger students. If I had a question on anything, from a concept to a finite detail, there was always someone there. That being said there is a busy time between 3 and 4, when I would have to wait a little longer to ask a question, but after 4 it cleared up. So, all in all, this is a great place to go for math help, coming from a student's perspective. read more
