After graduating, I secured a new grad position, but unfortunately due to unforeseen circumstances, I couldn't continue in that role. As many know, leaving a new grad position can make finding another job very challenging. Celeste was incredibly supportive during that difficult time. She not only helped me navigate the job search process, but also guided me on how to improve my interview skills and build my confidence. With her help, I was able to secure 4 interviews and ultimately land a new position with better pay than my previous role. I'm truly grateful for her dedication and support she made a real difference in my career journey. Thank you, Celeste

I don't know how they expect students that work eight hour shifts during the day to turn right around a couple of hours later and go to clinicals from 6 PM to 5 AM, only to have to turn right back around and go to work that same morning. This school has become nothing but my biggest depression trigger. STAY AWAY FROM WCU!

When TWU, Baylor, Midwestern, etc. DECLINED me to their nursing program because I took my courses…read moreat a community college and told me to try getting a degree in a different field...El Centro College accepted me into the nursing program on my 1st try. well, I attended every dallas county community college except for Brookhaven for financial reasons and because I the courses offered were able to fit my schedule. I worked while I attended community college and even in the nursing program. Out of all the colleges in Dallas, I found El Centro the most diverse in student body which I think made it fun. I used the free bus pass occasionally, when I didn't there is a $2 parking lot under the bridge close to Hooters. El Centro is my favorite because of their nursing program which is AMAZING and tough, but you are ready to be a nurse afterward. I passed my NCLEX board exam for TX on the 1st try, 75 questions (which means I aced it). Some of my other favorite courses offered at El Centro were French, Painting, and Microbiology. All three were made memorable because of the talented teachers. They were very passionate about the subject they taught and they taught it in a fun interactive way. After I completed the nursing program, El Centro offered a bridge program with UTA for a Bachelor of Nursing degree. A UTA representative came and spoke with my nursing class at El Centro. The presentation and my dedication inspired me to further my education and earn my BSN from UTA 1 year after earning my ADN from El Centro. When people ask me where did you graduate nursing school from? I proudly think of and say EL CENTRO first before UTA. They gave me a chance to fufill my dream of being an awesome nurse. I hope to inspire young and old people to not give up on their dream just because a University declines them.

Every campus whether it's Richland, Ceder Vallery, or Eastfield does not answer calls, their virtual chats literally have you waiting for over 2 hours just to get in touch with an advisor. If you plan on going here in person or online DON'T. Staff is lazy they get paid to sit behind a desk and not provide any important information that you need to succeed. Plan ahead and double check everything you need in order to pass the class and TRANSFER! Be prepared to have a class dropped on their own time even if you already paid for it. BTW -can't even get in touch with any presidents of any campus. I'm surprised Dallas College is still up and running!

Lol. although the initial process of figuring out enrollment, GI Bill application and process and finding classes that let me play mom, money maker and student was a little discouraging, I was able to accomplish it. Everyone I've encountered is so friendly and very understanding (I had to bring my sweet 11 month old) The campus itself is relatively new, I'm not exactly sure when renovations occurred but everyone kept mentioning how new everything was. And it definitely was nice. The outside parking is huge. There's no way you can't find parking, but there is a little construction going on so it could be confusing if you didn't wear your glasses (me)

They're rude, careless, and never help with anything. The technology in the school is outdated, the wait times for admissions financial aid and cashiers is ridiculous and they will charge you double because their machines aren't working. I've spoken with multiple academic advisors and none of them are actually able to help, they have conflicting advice and are unprofessional

Our Harvard on the Hill. Our Princeton by the Pond. What used to be known as Cooke County College…read moreis one of the biggest assets in the Gainesville community and, truth be told, the North Central Texas region in general. This is a college where you get what you put into it. Sure, if you're just looking to "get your basics out of the way" this is a junior college where you can do that inexpensively and with minimal interference. True, if you just want a two-year degree and don't want to do the whole "college kid" thing, you can come here at any age and from any walk of life and still learn a lot. But if you want the full college experience -- and you want to leave NCTC as a better critical thinker, artist, art appreciator, musician, actor, caretaker, philosopher, scientist, literary expert, mathmetician, academician and/or public citizen, you can. But you have to stick around after class and take advantage of what NCTC has to offer. The feel of the Cooke County Campus was like 13th and 14th grade when I went there a decade ago -- "high school with ash trays" one student called it my first day there. But I learned quickly that there was a greater depth to the faculty that few students took the time to explore, and that this wasn't just an extension of my high school years (aside from the dual-credit classes they offer!). The long-time instructors and professors of NCTC have ample time to focus on students on a one-on-one basis outside of class, and aren't psuedo-intellectual snobs (meaning you might actually learn something if you admit ignorance, rather than get sneered at. I was told by most of my instructors "there's no such thing as a dumb question," and I'm glad because I had my share of them!). Also, being a part of and starting several campus organizations were some of the best experiences of my life, and I made many lasting friendships by exploring my career, political, and spiritual interests outside of class. The culture of the campus has changed a lot -- the college is attempting to become more liberal-arts-focussed and there are many pre-planned school spirit campus events that make it seem more collegiate but not quite like the adult-oriented institution I attended in the mid-90s. Many of my beloved instructors have left or have passed on, and all the buildings were painted maroon. But it's still like home to me in many ways. One of the perks of getting to know the faculty is that you can always look up your old profs years later and find in them a mentor to help you throughout your career and life's challenges -- remember that when you get your modest tuition bill in the mail that you're investing in an educational community and not just a two-year certificate or Associate's degree. It's one of the best educational deals on the planet, and I can't recommend NCTC enough. Go there.
