While the tutors are tutoring other kids, you will be just working on your own little worksheet. Tutors are pretty knowledgeable, but some of their personalities are so dull that you will have hard time learning from your mistakes. So after about 6 months, my score only rose up from 1600 to 1850. For the amount of money and time spent, it's worthless to get into top schools. You are much better off going to wyzant.com and finding a private tutor from there. As that's what I decided to do. I dropped SAT and decided to study ACT instead. My score rose from 26 to 31 in less than 3 months.

Bonnie, Eric, and Susan asked thoughtful questions about our son to match him with the best tutor available. To say they succeeded would be an understatement. Natalie worked with Trey on his executive functioning skills, patiently showed him different ways of doing things, and supported him until his grades soared and he no longer needed help with Lit. In 10th grade, Geometry and Science challenged him, so we reached out to BCG for help in those subjects. Once again, they exceeded our expectations. Gerald, his Science tutor, teaches the same class in a nearby county and presents information differently than my son's teacher, works through several exercises to make sure our son understands the material, and makes suggestions of what he can do to stay on track until his next weekly session. Dan, our son's Geometry tutor, might be an angel in disguise. Thanks to his guidance and explanations, our son excitedly refreshes his Infinite Campus app to see how well he did on quizzes and tests instead of dreading the grades being posted. My rising sixth grader started Mathnasium end of May 2025 while still in the fifth grade. Unfortunately, none of these goals were met. The tutoring didn't mirror his schoolwork as promised, and his first school math test in middle school at the end of August reflected this -- he failed. Also, during our last virtual session in September, the tutor left the session for an extended period when he should've only been gone for three or four minutes to check on his other virtual students then return/rotate. For those reasons, along with one additional issue not mentioned here, I quickly lost confidence in the program and canceled at the end of September, not wanting to spend any more money on a tutoring service that wasn't meeting his needs. It may be a good fit for others, but it wasn't effective for us. I was disappointed and now need to find another tutor or tutoring service that meets his needs. I would be remiss not to mention that the director was pleasant and made efforts to be accommodating and address all concerns.
