We walked in the house and I walked him around showing him doorways. He asked where attic access was n I told him it was in the babies room where he was sleeping. So he asked where access was under house. I showed him where that was and explained I would need my daughter to move her shoes for access. He explained what "he thought" might be the problem. He said he could refer 2 contractors that could assist in the issue. He gave me those names and #'s which I will post later. Once he gave me the referrals I asked what we owe him. He said I usually charge $300 but since you are close to my office it will only be $200. I paid cause I'm not one to argue. He left with check n I looked at my ring doorbell n realized he literally was at my house for 14 min. Needless to say he NEVER even looked under the house or in attic area. Walked around and looked at about 4 doorways In house and made an assumption. I PAYED HIM $200 FOR 14MIN OF HIS TIME N HE GAVE ME NOTHING. I completely understand a flat service charge. But a service charge requires a service. I PAID A STRUCTURAL ENGINEER $200 TO WALK IN MY HOUSE N TELL ME I HAVE A FOUNDATION ISSUE. WOW

However, the next day that was not the case when I contacted him regarding damaged property that had been incurred near the fence during the fence replacement process. It's been nearly a week and I've sent two messages, both of which have been ignored. The irony is that it was just a broken garden statue, valued around $100, but they never even asked what happened. It feels like they were too afraid to respond or inquire about my concerns. The lack of accountability, responsibility and communication regarding property damage is upsetting and I would hope that in the future this owner would at least want to respond and know what occurred rather than ignore potential future clients out of fear of owning up to what was ultimately just a small mistake.
