As the location of the Cavern Club this street has global fame. Found in the Cavern Quarter, this bustling street is popular with locals and tourists alike. After visiting the club, you can sit with John Lennon and hum those nostalgic tunes as you view the "wall of fame". If you, like me, are not a Beatles fan (yes, I'm a Scouser) Mathew offers a lot more, both day and night. You can visit Cavern Walks Designer Shopping Centre and treat yourself in Cricket, Drome or Vivienne Westwood, go for lunch at Mathew Street Gallery, Flanagan's Apple, Hard Day's NIght or Lennon's Bar (okay, slightly Beatle's related..but you're just going to have to embrace it). Mathew Street is great for a bar crawl as pubs and clubs are clustered and easily navigable by night and under the influence. Flares is great; it's 60's and 70's theme with a brilliant atmosphere, The Rubber Soul (70's and 80's) again, is a really lively venue with laid back punters and cheap drinks. If you fancy live music, local bands perform weekly in the infamous basements of The Cavern. read more
