I recently stopped to purchase 4 cinder blocks. I was unsure if they sold individual blocks or if they only sell in bulk. I went to the front office and paid (the prices are very reasonable). I walked outside and a guy on a tractor was waiting. I followed him down a road into a yard in the rear. He used the tractor to lift a pallet and drive it to the rear of my truck, allowing me to pick which blocks I wanted. The customer service here was friendly and they make it very simple to quickly pick up a few items. I was in-and-out in less than 5 minutes.

I guess the fact that I was dress in office work clothes she assumed I had no idea what I was speaking about. She was short and condescending. I was challenged on trade terminology. When I asked to confirm how many "boards" I ordered, she gave me the number of "studs". I am sorry "boards, not "studs". Her response was and I quote " a 2x4 is a board. It is a piece of wood, so it is a board". I asked her what do you call a 4 x 8 piece of sheetrock. Really? This is your challenging response at 8am. I do everything to support the few small local businesses eft. It's unappreciative attitudes like this that make it hard. Maybe I should have walked across the street to the big store. I only write maybe one review a year- and it's usually to warn people away from a place, or give a tip about how to not have a bad experience, so just the fact that I am taking a few minutes to do this should tell you that this place is special. Chip, his daughter, and the rest of the staff have always been very friendly, helpful and patient- whether I know exactly what I'm looking for or am clueless what I need. They've cut lumber to size perfectly, helped me load heavy items into my car, and even stayed open a few extra minutes when I've arrived as they were locking up. They are closed now so I will work on something else and wait until they open tomorrow rather than waste more than an hour driving all the way to Home Depot and then have to search for what I need! My wife goes into the store. She had on a long winter coat. She's always cold. It's a medical condition. There are no inside pockets in that long winter coat that she wore open because then she started getting hot. She was overdressed, which happens to her when she goes into stores they don't have the air-conditioning set to 60. This was literally yesterday. She went out the day before and was freezing to death because of the windchill. She did not feel the need to explain this to the men that worked there. Unbelievable! She bought some batteries and was carrying them around the store. A man whose name we remember, we don't need to mention his name takes them away from her and says why don't you leave them on the counter? She she knew for sure that he thought she was some kind of thief because she was wearing a long winter coat. We all have weather whiplash. This man would not admit that he thought my wife was going to shop lift these batteries. She said she didn't see any sign saying do not carry merchandise around the store. She also did not notice any baskets one can carry the merchandise around it. Then the man continued to argue with my wife about how long the surge protector cord should be, and my wife kept saying what she wanted, and he kept arguing with her manslaining to her that she needed a long cord when she did not need a longer cord and we have very good reasons that we do not need a longer cord! My goodness! Prices are not cheap, they did not tell us the truth over the phone and then this happens. So not so happy;will avoid in future. Then she had to ask for a receipt. We hate that; a receipt should be given automatically.
