Hey guys , my name is Kanstantsin I ve been a member of this gym for 1 month and I wanted to say that this facility is the best I ve seen so far in NYC,(I ve been a member in Blink, Bally fitness) I dont understand people who are lowrating this place because of the price, I guess they are satisfied with paying 20$ for a crappy gym where you have to wait 1 hour to use a bench or leg press. I also wanted to thank you Kristina and Sasha for showing me around and helping me with my membership, they are very polite and competent same as front desk. First time here and last..Came across a person who works there that has issues..Not polite..What a shame..

DISHONEST and RUDE staff. If you are not Russian, they'll never greet you nicely or with a smile. You are treated as if you are inferior. I only went there because of the parking spaces and because it's on my way home from work. Thankfully I used ClassPass and did not get a membership. The membership fee is ridiculously high and absurd. It's not even a fancy gym, it's mediocre at best. The air inside is incredibly stinky and humid that you can cut it with a knife. Gross! I first went there using ClassPass. ClassPass is multi-gym membership service where you pay ClassPass a monthly fee and using their app or website you reserve spots at any participating gyms. MatchPoint was listed as a participating gym for last three years (because I saw some three year old reviews from other ClassPass members who used this gym). I went to MatchPoint ten times between August and the first week of November. I checked in at the front desk where my interaction with them was minimal. They never smiled, greeted or said hello when I came in. Today when I went to check in at the front desk, they did want to accept my reservation and denied that they ever participated on ClassPass. They accused ClassPass of illegally making money off of them. I think it's incredibly unprofessional blatantly accusing someone else for your own failure and incompetency (before coming in I could see that someone from the gym uploaded their new schedule last week to the ClassPass platform, so they obviously are getting paid by ClassPass for my visit, but denying service when people like me actually are showing up). Then they went on and on about how they had no idea why ClassPass list them on their website(!!!) and send people to their gym. I do not need to be lectured about this, I was there to work out, I reserved my spot using the app where the gym upload their class and gym availability. They were wasting my time and killing my enthusiasm about working out. What makes me even more upset is that I left messages for Alexi the gym manager twice in the last couple of weeks, with two actual human beings, not answering machine. They clearly didn't deliver the message or the gym manager is too arrogant to call me back. If you enjoy interacting with rude, unprofessional, stupid people, this is your gym. Otherwise know that you are getting ripped off. read more

Beautiful facility inside and outside, but there is so many issues. First, personnel at the reception or answering calls are not friendly and need to learn to smile, whenever I call to find out regarding class schedules they are totally lost. that includes personal trainers, please smile. Second, what is going on with the air air-conditioning in the Step and Zumba classroom; it gets so hot and steamy in that room that the next class is slipping and sliding. Third, WIFI is terrible and when you on treadmill or elliptical you cannot connect to watch TV???? I and my friends are getting frustrated because you are never late with withdrawals of the monthly membership. seriously thinking of going back to NYSC. read more

I wish I could leave a review on being a member but these guys are so hard to contact. Called and no one picks up the phone during the day. Filled out the email contact form and no response. I even visited their facility but their staff seems clueless on how to greet visitors, give them directions on how to join or answer any questions about the gym. Pretty rude as other reviewers have mentioned. For a premium gym that charges upwards of $80-100 per month you'd think customer service was high quality. read more

Don't be fooled by the nice looking building from the outside. The facilities was built well and thats about all the good there is here. One of the most expensive gyms in the area if not maybe all of Brooklyn. What do you get for almost 900 a year? Attitude from managers, supervisors that don't supervise or fix problems. Unorganized is an understatement either they make schedules based on how they feel that day or they play a game with their clients of who can i piss off today by cancelling their class or closing a section. I have never seen more confused people in my life you would think with all the money they invested in this place they would put people in it that could run it well. This place is a joke! They advertise a basketball court but dont be fooled the only court youll get to see is the food court when the basketball court is being taken over by martial arts and other events that are not on their "schedule". Looking for a gym that you can do your work out and get out? DON'T COME HERE THEN!!!! So today was the breaking point for me and a few other members. I pay to just use the basketball court, and I was given their new schedule, then i called earlier to confirm the schedule. I get there and 30 minutes later they are kicking off 6 paying members because of a mistake they made. They don't offer any way to remedy the problem. They don't approach us and say were so sorry and this wont happen again. They just looked at us like worthless people in the way of their operation. I rarely leave feedback for companies, there is no way i could pass on leaving this review. I have been a member for close to two years. Never late with my payments. However MatchPoint has failed to open on time 6 times in the last 6 month. And i do complain! I am not asking for much, not using any classes or anything else. Just come in and work out first thing in the morning. So i think my complaint is valid. Today the gym manager gave me an excuse that someone lost a key, no apology. No one was there at 6 to open the door. Not as depressing as waiting outside in the middle of January but still unpleasant. So i came back today to ask the GM "Dimity" when is he planning to fix the issue and was told he is in the meeting and can not come out. I was asked to leave and they will refund this month membership. So if you care in any way about customer service or the punctuality of the place, STAY AWAY! Find a much cheaper option a block away in Retro or two blocks away in Blink. There are plenty of options close by. read more

good facility but the worst service possible . First unless you know the owners your child gets awful treatment . Second the front desk girls so incompetent that I can't even begin telling you! We were moving out of state and cancelled my husband's membership , end up paying one extra month , but now 3 month later we getting harassed for payments. Membership is 120$ but on top of that you will have to pay for every class you taking 20$ . Facility has a pool but you won't be able to use it unless it's 11am-3pm since they have classes there . MatchPoint Gymnastics is a nightmare. These (OTB) teachers are rude & obnoxious bullies to the little girls and their parents. These snobs don't know how & should not be work with children. Instructions are in given mostly Russian language. They think it's Ok to put your child on the side for 15 min of 2 hr lesson that you paid for (as a punishment). They close their eyes the fact that older girl push younger ones around. There is no system in place for when your child wants to use a restroom. So expect your child to be handed off to a total stranger to guide her to and from the bathroom. read more

I'm not the member of this gym, but I've been there couple times and I like it a lot. Locker rooms are super clean and pretty big, gym has everything you need for a nice work out. They also have some classes(like yoga, pilates etc). Actually match point has everything you need: basketball court, tennis courts, gymnastic, swimming pool; so while your kids are doing some activities you can go to they gym as well. I love food there, I believe I ordered sandwich with avocado eggs and salmon. Definitely recommend to be a member of this club. read more

My child started going to swimming lessons here. I was terrified when I was at one of the lessons. My child was give a floating board and asked to swim with teacher Alex being outside the pool. My child reached the far end and the board got out of his hands he panicked and barely was able to grab on to divider and prevent drawning. I ran up and got him out, his teacher or the two "life guards" didn't even notice. If you care for the safety of your child AVOID this place. Huge disappointment and very very scary experience. Teacher didn't even care when I brought it up to him not even an apology. read more

Terrible attitude of the staff. I've had three robberies in the locker room. The staff does not react to this in any way even refused to show records from camera . The administrative staff is rude, the management even more so. I'll look for another gym. read more

Most expensive gym in the area. $130/month for gold (pool/gym) with 1 year minimum membership. Pretty clean, but very expensive and staff is not that nice. Sauna is small and breaks down from time to time. Hours aren't the best either. read more

Finally Matchpoint NYC opened! Went there for first time last night. Group excercise schedule has not been ironed out yet, classes are scarce, schedules change on the fly. Weekday classes are scheduled to late, 8,9 pm, not much variety. I would like to take a 7pm class and be done with it. No classes scheduled on the weekend, which is a big minus. Group class room is not ready, had boot camp class on a tennis court which was very hot. No water fountains, everyother gym has water fountains throughout their facilities. Swimming pool is not nearly finished, for those who want to swim you may need to wait another year. I hope that they will work on fixing and improving this facility. It has potential but needs better organization and more fitness classes. read more

Finally a club in Brooklyn which is clean, classy and convenient. The lounge upstairs is a really great, not only it is a great place to relax after a game or workout, it is also a great place to watch your kids practice as it overlooks pool and courts and TV monitors show your kids practice in the gym or on farther courts. read more

This place is overpriced. Used a 3 day free trial. Locker rooms are decent. Free weight area for the barbell and squat rack use is so tiny. The whole area should be expanded to accommodate very serious lifters. Yes there's bumper plates but the space to lift and drop weight or powerlift is small. Peak hours are horrible, not many have proper gym etiquette. People come with their posse and hog the machines and dont let you work in. Older folk hate when you try to work in with them. Also no one is re-racking their weighs after use. read more

I try to reschedule one of my son't swimming class from Sunday to Saturday, I sent the email on Monday but no reply from Valeriya Curinnaia who is in charge of the scheduling. I texted the her on Wed and until Thursday I was told no more class on Saturday. Way I wasn't told at the very beginning and only until I texted her I got this news! Not acceptable! read more

I have a very bad experience opening a pool membership at Match Point. When opening this membership, I was misinformed several times. Although the service was attended by two people - a girl Sasha and a young guy. First, no one told me that they charge the annual maintenance fee $ 59.99. Nobody even mentioned it. Secondly, the young man who explained the rules to me and accepted my credit card for payment made a big mistake. He gave me the wrong information about the visit days. The form indicated that the membership covered the days of the week from Monday to Friday. Yes, and my friend who has the same membership told me about that. But the guy assured me that I can walk all days of the week. And I do not need to pay attention to the form and even crossed out this column. I asked him several times if it was accurate. And he reassured me again, don't worry - you can walk all week. A week later, I came to the pool on Sunday, took a shower, and went inside. There the young man told me that no, you cannot swim today. Your membership does not cover the weekends. He went somewhere to find out, came back and asked me to go to the front desk. I replied that I would have to go back to the dressing room and get dressed again. To this the young man just threw up his hands. I had to go back to get dressed up and go back to the front desk. Neither Sasha, nor the young man was there. There was a young girl Tanya, who could not really answer my questions. No one apologized, no one offered to make amends by inviting me to go back to the pool and swim. It's not my fault that they gave me the wrong information! So, the Sunday morning was completely ruined. People, be very careful when opening a membership. Although, as you can see, it didn't help me. read more

This review is about the café upstairs even though I will also review the facility as well. But first yesterday I took my daughter for her swim class, after I left her with her swim instructor I went upstairs to get a salad. Now here is where the problem starts, I wanted a salad without any greens such as lettuce and ect; all I wanted in the salad was tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions and dressing. Not that difficult to do.. Please keep in mind that I was creating my own salad. So the minute I told the girl at the register she looked at me like a deer in head lights, saying that she cant do that and that I needed a base for the salad. So I tried to make it simple and just told her that I am allergic to greens she looks at me and tells me "then why don't you just not have the salad". I asked her to call her manager he was also no help, I told him that I am creating my own salad and he said that they cannot do it like that. So I was ok but I am creating my own salad as it states in your menu and nowhere does it state that I need a base for it. I just don't understand why it was so difficult for them to understand. As I stated above my daughter takes private swimming lesson, if it was not for her swim instructor I would not come back to the disgusting, no costumer service place. My daughter is 9 years old so when I take her into the GIRLS locker room there are always little boys there, my daughter is at that age where is uncomfortable changing in front of boys regarding the age. I complained to the front desk and the manager multiply times and still nothing is being done about that. I once saw a woman call over her husband so that he can shower their son in the GIRLS locker room. Are you serious!? When I told the front desk they just smiled and did nothing. The manager still did not take care of the problem. The only way this will get takin care of is when they will finally get sued and one day they will. read more

My review is based only on Pool and lounge. My son is in the beginner 2 swimming program and he loves it. The couches are nice and know what they're doing. Pool is big and clean not drowned in chlorine. Locker rooms are very nice big roomy lockers and very clean. There is always someone there to help, and towels are available for everyone. Lounge is beautiful, also clean, big windows on both sides with comfy couches so parents can see there kids swimming or play tennis, and TV's everywhere tuned to swimming pool, tennis court and gymnastics. Girls and guys who work there are all very nice and attentive always ready to help. I been having a juice every time I'm waiting for my son to finish swimming and so far loved every single one. Also we eat dinner there on days of swimming since he is very hungry after so far all I can say that chicken nuggets and fries he likes but mini pizzas not so much, and as for me so far i loved everything I tried. So over all everything has been great and I hope nothing changes over time. read more

Match Point is a great club for children and adults. It includes 9 brand new tennis courts, and if you're looking for a coach, match point is the place to go. A brand new swimming pool was recently opened up as well as a cafe which although may be a bit pricey, serves delicious food. All in all, the club is great and I recommend you visit! read more
