Very unpleasant experience with a front desk staff member. He touched my personal belongings without permission, which is completely inappropriate. When I asked who he was, he replied "it doesn't matter" instead of properly identifying himself. Later he gave an unclear name (Anton/Anthony) and claimed to be a manager. Instead of apologizing, he spoke in a rude and disrespectful manner. This kind of behavior is unacceptable. People come to the gym to focus and feel comfortable, not to deal with this kind of attitude. I hope management addresses this. read more

My 4-year-old takes private swimming lessons with Gau here and I couldn't wish for a better coach. Gau managed to turn my daughter into a confident swimmer who has already partially mastered some technics like breaststroke, swimmimg on her back and effective breathing. She coaches little ones with compassion, patience and utmost attention. As long as Gau is there we'll keep taking more lessons and I already convinced my sister to choose her as a coach for her child. The only downside in this pool is water temperature which ia on a cooler side as I believe it's infended for adults rather than children. Other than that, its a nice facility overall. read more

My daughter has done gymnastics here for the past two years, and while she loves it, I'm slightly on the fence. MatchPoint is a large facility with various activities gym, swimming, tennis and gymnastics, from what I've seen. As parents cannot stay and watch-- we are able to go up to the cafe and watch via closed circuit tv, which is a nice touch. The have a pretty decent cafe upstairs with various option, the staff up there is very friendly, but on the lower level, they aren't as cordial. My issues with the gymnastics portion is I believe it's slightly overpriced. I guess the caveat to that is, if you pay the full amount prior to the season starting, you can save 10%. Another issue is at the conclusion of the season, they give a final show. However, school is in session, and the show begins at 5PM and they want the children to be there several hours early. It just doesn't make sense, if all these kids are in school, to make it this early and on a school day. Also, we are asked to pay over $200 for socks and customs, along with having to pay $35 per ticket to view our children perform and they don't even have enough seats for us! read more

This is the most toxic place to be member of. I had a membership and during the time (Covid) I had to move to Florida. As I was moving when I asked to cancel the membership they asked for documentation proving I was moving. I showed them the new id I got there which is the enhanced real id which I need to prove my address and many things to get that id in Florida. I showed that too and they still maintain to charge me $532 every day. I mean every day they have been trying to charge my card. It has been draining dealing with this. Friendly staff. Clean facility. My child comes every Friday nights for swimming. Their swim schedule is flexible with weekday and weekend availability. I usually chill at the cafe upstairs while waiting. There is plenty seating with healthy food/drink options. The large windows and TV screens allows you to watch your child who swims or plays tennis. This is one of the dirtiest gyms I have ever been to. Yes people sweat when they work out, but most gyms handle that with air conditioning and air fresheners and custodial staff. Not this place. The women's locker room was a danger as the floor was filthy and wet. Very small pool. Tiny parking lot. The staff is rude speaking Russian (Vlad)in an attempt to exclude those who they think don't speak Russian. Was given a refund after being told they would not refund my money, only because my husband is a lawyer and pointed out NYC law requires gyms to cancel membership when asked within a 10 day initial request after signing up. The place was too filthy for me. It's a poor man's Lifetime Gym at high costs. I would give 1/2 star but there is no option here for that. read more

Absolutely a first rate facility, in terms of the tennis courts, swimming pool and fitness center, but improvements can be made, in terms of hospitality at times. This MatchPoint NYC location is inconspicuously located on Shell Rd where there really isn't many other things around it other than apartment buildings. It's not a massive facility, but large enough to house a clean-looking and large swimming pool (not Olympic-size), formerly 8 tennis courts (now reduced to 6 to make room for a gymnastics training area), a fitness center and cafeteria on the 2nd floor. Although I have been coming here for years to accompany family members who get tennis and swimming lessons, I have only utilized the facility, specifically the tennis courts, a handful of times. From my experiences using the tennis courts, the courts are regulation, pristine and absolutely magnificent to play on. Each court is separated by netting, however balls can fly over them from time to time still. If you're interested in (private or group) tennis lessons, from what I know, they are year-round, except during the summer, and can be quite pricey. And from my many observations of the lessons, the attention from the trainers can vary, so choose your trainer wisely. You're paying big bucks for lessons, so make sure you have a trainer you like. As for tennis court rentals, prices vary by day and time, with the "peak" times of the afternoon and early evening being the priciest per hour. Be prepared to open up the wallet either way. As for the swimming pool and fitness center, I cannot comment too much on those because I have never utilized either there. For the curious, there are views of the swimming pool at the 2nd floor cafeteria or on the 1st floor. The fitness center is a bit more private. And a big question I'm sure plenty of new patrons have is, is there parking? Yes, there is! There is a very narrow parking lot by the main entrance, but there is a larger one in the back. Even though this is a great facility for those looking to get in a swim, tennis match/lessons or workout, hospitality has been spotty from time to time. Nothing egregious has ever happened to me, but I've seen a few folks not exude the greatest attitudes here. Just my opinion. BUYER BEWARE! I booked and paid for my kids' multisport summer camp in late March. In May and June the camp Director (Alina) and the person in charge of the swimming program (Victoria) communicated with me multiple times *by email, by text, & by phone*. At no point did anyone tell me that the swimming program was for June 27-August 1st ONLY, since the pool would be closed for renovation throughout August. That's 5 weeks of swimming instead of the 10 we thought we were paying for. *** This location has a strong multi-sport summer camp program. I'd give it 4 stars, but take a star off for lack of timely communication about a planned change in programming. In 2022, after 10% off for "early bird" registration, cost per child is $7,191 for 10 weeks, June 27-September 2nd. Camp schedule includes swimming, soccer, tennis, and some gymnastics / boxing exercises. The kids get a snack around 10:30am & some lunch. They really like the program. However, I don't know if I'll schedule them for Matchpoint multisport camp next year. *How can I trust that next year Matchpoint won't be renovating the tennis courts or closing the swimming pool, and only letting us know when camp is already in session?* read more

I'm a member of this place for couple of years now. Nice, expensive place, but lack of maintenance takes it's toll. If anything breaks it takes forever to fix. A/C in certain rooms works only during cold months. Sauna is out forever without ETA on a repair. Newly installed showers don't work properly(hot water running out of hot valve and vice versa). I don't remember when did Wifi worked last time. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone at this time. Thinking of switching to a different gym myself. read more

I was registered in March 2023 and wanted to only use the sauna and pool, I can swim only after sauna. I did not know that more than 300 days a year sauna is out of order. Whenever I came they said that the sauna is not working. I asked to suspend membership 6 times in the past 9 months, due to the sauna. Within those months, I was charged $20 for nothing. I was fed up and asked manager to sign me out, but he told me that I did not sign up for sauna. It was apparently complementary and not part of the contract, according to him, so he didn't want me to sign out. I am filing a complaint against this company. They are crooked. read more

unfortunately, I really wanted to like this gym since it's the only large gym in the area that has an indoor pool and parking. However I was seriously disappointed once I joined. When I lived on Long Island, I used to be a member of lifetime fitness which is 10 times better and only 180 a month. and compared to what I was used to this place is terrible. I am American and it is clear that the staff don't give a shit to help you. They don't want to be bothered to assist you with machines. And not only that they will give you attitude or look look at you like there's something wrong with you to ask them. then the kids class is pretty much all the time in the pool you can't even swim in peace. The workers in the front desk of the gym are rude, no one in this gym is friendly with the exception of the pilates class instructor. I came in with my husband to have him try out the gym since I have been a member for a few months, which I only go to 1 class occasionally. Instead of giving us options on joining, Anastasiia (the membership advisor) gave us a really nasty attitude as if we were bothering her. Since she was behaving that way I decided I should find out how to cancel my membership, she told me I would need to pay a fee which was NEVER explained to me when I signed up, I do have an injusta so I'll get getting a note from my doctor in order to cancel. Unfortunately, due to recent events that occurred on 11/29/2017 at 9:45AM, I will no longer be coming to your facility. First and foremost, I am a regular gym member paying high premium and want to address how poorly the situation was mishandled and ignored. I was severely injured using one of your stair-master machines on 11/29/2017 during regular scheduled morning Wednesday class with trainer PASHA. The issue was never addressed and not reported to management. Nobody from staff came to help me and literally told me to leave the gym facility. I was in severe pain and shock and didn't realize at the time the severity of my injury and pain. I never received any follow up call or notication that anyone showed any concern to the matter. In the following days after the incident, I was admitted to the hospital with many complications due to my injuries. Since then I have not returned. I find your facility unsafe and your staff unqualified and very unprofessional. Matchpoint must have proper protocol in the event someone gets injured on your property. read more

Firstly, the people here speak very bad English and don't understand anything if your complaint is in English but if you speak Russian they are very friendly with you. Deceiving customers, I froze my subscription for two months, there was a long conversation with Sasha, she told the terms of the agreement with which I agreed. I went on vacation, as it turned out after the conversation, Sasha did not freeze my subscription and was removed from me for a month, and not for freezing the subscriber. I called back to find out why they took it off in a month, and not for freezing, and Sasha said that there was no conversation at all with me and she did not know anything. I give it 4 because 1)sauna is not working since june/july (around 2 months already) and it's not like they turned thermostat off during summer,they keep saying it's broken and noone in New York can obviously fix this. even in summer sauna improves your cardiovascular health and respiratory function and relaxes your muscles,i don't see any reasons why to turn it off exept that gym is trying to save money. Customer service is horrendous, especially the manager in charge of memberships Anton. I fulfilled my contract agreement of paying for 12 full months and when I went to cancel he is trying to get another month payment out of me because I didn't notify them in enough time. Meanwhile I told them before the next month started. Had issues over the phone so I went down there to get it taken care of and Anton has the worst customer service attitude ever. Insisted I must pay for another month even though I notified them before month started. This would normally be something that can be worked out customer to business in a very simple arrangement instead he would not budge. Precisioncare has been my Oasis for the last 3 years. They have an amazing medical and PT staff. Literally it never matters who treats my injuries, they are all pros at the highest level. Also their PT equipment is top of the line. I treat my knee injuries with a gravity treadmill and it has done wonders for me. Dr Marcus leads the medical team and it is a blessing that I am under her medical care. (knee injections to back and neck. ) The last thing I wish to say is that the admin staff and management are great and super friendly. I don't recommend many places. Went to front desk to speak with employees in person which wasn't much help at all no one had answers. I was told they would call me and days later no one has called. I love this place: clean, neat, friendly. I come to the swimming pool and it's so convenient that they have all the bathing stuff and hair dryers. The temperature of water is perfect. The only thing I could improve is to add more aqua aerobics as the schedule doesn't work for me. Sometimes I take Valeriy's instructor training swimming sessions. He is a great teacher. STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE YOUR BELONGINGS STOLEN THEN LIED TO AND THREATENED!!!!!!! So I have been trying to retrieve my brand new (IT WAS WHEN I WORE IT THERE) Apple Watch that MatchPoint stole from me, held hostage, then lied and threatened me about for the last 8 months. They told me to my face with witnesses present that they had the watch, then denied this months later. I don't know what else to do to get it back AND I'M UTTERLY SICKENED BY THIS. As the screenshot indicates, the last location the watch was online was the address of Matchpoint on Shell Road in February. The staff and management have handled the situation with outright LIES, THREATS, AND DISRESPECT. I told them I did not want to have to file a police report or go to small claims court to retrieve my property and get back the ridiculous amount of money they charge for membership. Sasha, the woman who accosted me in the lobby stating she had my watch but wouldn't return it until my boyfriend returned a woman's AirPods he had accidentally taken, now states that this never occurred. I was also told when I called for months that no Sasha worked there. I described her appearance and again, was lied to day after day. The ONLY time I have had any communication from them is when I sent an email stating I was going to a police station. Suddenly, they knew my number and wanted to resolve the issue by "all meeting in person." This obviously has never happened. A Sasha did miraculously work there again, and I had the pleasure of being threatened and lied to by her on the phone. She wasn't phased by me stating I'd have to take action, telling me it happens all the time and having fun looking through their security tapes. Apparently, she has "investigators on speed dial," which she was clear in stating that I was the one who would suffer and this is a common occurrence there. I'm appalled to have to interact with these types of people. When I call now they pretend to not know about the situation and when I ask to speak with the person whom I was told was the manager regarding finally having this resolved, I'm told he is away and Sergei is actually the tennis instructor there. Now I'm out over $2,0000 from the watch, another for their overpriced membership, and I am at a complete loss on how or what to do at this point. I'd appreciate any advice.
