I made a purchase of a bottle of nail polish. At the time of my purchase I was not offered a seal or informed that I would need one should I change my mind about the product. When I returned to the store less than 24 hours later to exchange the nail polish purchased for one of a different color, I was told that because it was not sealed I could not exchange it. When they sell the product unsealed, it is unfair for them to expect you to return it sealed, especially when they make no mention of it at the time of purchase. The counter girls are nice, but the manager who was brought over to explain why I could not make an exchange was very rude and made me cry. The boss of the store was also nice, but also very inflexible and unwilling to help out a first time customer. Even if they cannot sell this particular bottle, they could have turned it into a tester for the product, for example, or find other creative solutions. I think their losing a few kroner over this is worth it to maintain a good customer relationship. As it is, they have lost a potential lifetime customer over a small bottle of nail polish. I am taking my business far from Matas because I do not want to be so rudely treated when I am spending good money at their store. read more
