There are a few little independent stores as well which aren't too bad either and an awesome party store! For Sutton, it's not bad, however you still need to go to the main high street to access other shops. But it's small and suits the town. It could do with an H&M (as Sutton doesn't have one) and a better food court.

However, I failed to spot any of the branded golf clubs that the chief executive had mentioned on his radio interview on Five live. I used the opportunity to buy some staples like washing up liquid and scouring pads but didn't really find anything else I wanted though it's hard to go wrong with spending a pound. However, I would feel uncomfortable with contributing to the throwaway society of today - buy a £1 umbrella with the attitude that so what if it's pretty poor standard and breaks easily as it was so cheap. Perfect for a quiet shop not battling traffic to get to Kingston then paying a large parking fee and long walk. Its full of items for the home aswell as food gifts - alcohol,pate,biscuits etc and gift sets They even had my favourite Kold cocktails so if you see the Lychee Martini has run out that because i have them in my freezer. Staff were helpful, no long queues and lots of display. I think i shall be getting some of my Xmas prezzies from here

These days, it's on the small medium size with a House of Fraser being the only department store. There are mainly chain stores, my most visited being Marks & Spencer and a recently opened Boots, which took over the entire area of the previously open air Kings Shade Walk. There are a few quirky shops like Cook, which offers high qualitty ready prepared meals. The Ashley Centre car park doubles as the town car park in the evenings and is convenient for the Epsom Playhouse and nearby restaurant row, South Street. It's A-OK but no more than that.

A somewhat depressing agglomeration of outlet/seconds/remainder vendors, housed in what used to be…read morean Allders department store. All feels somewhat temporary, but that said, that are gems to be found - you just need to look past the grim surroundings and ferret about; for example, for those more sylph-like than me, there was one "bit" that specialised in Nicole Farhi samples. The downside was, as many of them were "one-offs" or pre-production items, none of them had size labels on them. There are also a range of furniture, household, and toy sections, as well as clothing. Thinking of it as a quirkier ( and much better stocked - at least for the moment) TK Maxx. Happy hunting !
