I look forward to spending time with the amazing community and the incredible coaches at this gym. As someone who got into training MMA casually, training under Professor Steve helped me build enough confidence to compete in Jiu-jitsu tournaments on a regular basis. If you are new and may feel intimidated to start training, I CANNOT reccomend this school enough for its welcoming and inclusive and highly knowledgable community. Also a great place to make new friends!!!

I'm still pretty new but I can tell the training is top notch. I learn something new every single class and excited to keep going. The facility itself is kept clean and there's a huge mat so even if there's a big class there's enough room to train without running into other people. The area in the back has a wall of cubbies for your belongings, a couple benches, a water cooler and a small mat to warm up/cool down before/after class. Highly recommend trying it out.

This is not just a little boxing class! It wasn't long before I started taking my training seriously, too. Since then, the coaches have gone out of their way to teach me, encourage me, support me, hype me up, and remind me that martial arts is about much more than physical fitness. (Body teaaa though!) Pro-tip for women looking into 10P Burbank: don't worry about the male/female ratio. Everyone here is your teammate. The coaches do a phenomenal job ensuring the mats are a safe place for everyone, and they set a high bar in terms of behavior. Never had a problem and happy to say that 3 years later, nobody wants a problem ;) If you're looking for a martial arts gym where you can sharpen your focus, strengthen your commitment to yourself and your wellbeing, double down on your discipline, face those inner demons, and build community with some real killers, this is the place.

After about 5 years, I got seriously injured, got surgery, then life happened (marriage, kids), took a 8 year hiatus from training, and now at 41 years old, I was able to find my way back. It was through a referral from a friend that I found this school. Since restarting, my view of the art has changed tremendously. A lot of the fundamental concepts, which were elusive me to early on, have been hammered into my mind because of this school. Enzo is meticulous, and very technical. He is an instructor who has a passion for his students. I've trained at various schools for years, where I was taught mostly by purple or brown belts. Having Enzo, a 3rd degree black belt under Cobrinha, teach every single class has been so beneficial to my journey. He's instilled in me not only a solid fundamental base, meticulous details and techniques to build on top of it, but more importantly, a passion and curiosity for continual discovery of the art. He makes it a point to know and meet each student where they're at. Yes, the school is growing bigger, but it still maintains a small school vibe, with a no-ego, fun, and safety-first culture. Both of my daughters and my wife train here as well, and they love it. Anyone and all are welcome.

However, I can speak on behalf of the kids' classes, and they're great. My son is 6.5, and he's been going here for 3 months now. Not only he loves it, but he's getting very strong as well, and learning self defense. I think most of what he likes is that the classes don't feel like a heavily structured classes run by a drill sergeant. There seems to be plenty of play time with specific techniques taught at the right time, next thing you know he's got some moves. It's like watching a lion cub learning how to hunt through play. I also love Dartanian's approach and philosophy to training, specially kids, competition, self defense and also strict rules, so while kids are having fun, they learn to respect each other, respect the coaches, respect the dojo, and play fair. As far as the dojo, it's big, and has plenty of room in the back of the gym with covered mats and heavy bags, and a sizable set up for cross fit training or "American Ninja Warrior" course as my son likes to point out, and loves climbing the ropes and giving his best on the peg wall.
