Master's did a fine job in replacing the main portion of my roof in 2013. However, when I attempted to hire them to replace a smaller portion in the back of my house in 2019 (having to call no less than 8 times to get an answer), they ultimately decide to lie about "not specializing that particular commercial-style roof" - even though the simple slope-style in question is nearly identical to the one on the front of my house that Master's replaced originally. What type of roofing company claims to not specialize in a simple sloped roof? Instead of being honest with me and admitting the job was too small for them to take on, which I would have completely understood, I got the runaround for 5 weeks, and then ultimately lied to make me go away. Had them put in a new shower 3 months ago, it is beautiful but now it is starting to fall apart! no one answers the phone when you need them to come and fix the problem, i have tried 6 times to get in touch with them to have it fixed. the machine lets you all team members are busy. to leave a message and they will get back to you. i have yet to get a call back. talk with one of the other shower/ remodel company. i should have checked yelp sooner! read more

You should see the way the the inside sales team is treated. You would not want any product from them. Manipulating time sheets when someone is using their thumbprint. If your thumb is there... you are. Refusing to show employees their clock in and clock out hours. This was requested 4 times in writing. Ignored each and every time by the HR department. If that is what you call one person that works at three different companies. There is only one reason to refuse to show this. You have something to hide. Period. Not paying commission and bonuses that are due to the inside sales reps. Asking an inside sales reps why they are following their appointments when they are supposed to get paid a commission. When they tell it is because they want to know what to expect on their check you yell at them, "That - that is going to stop right now." Really? This is abusive and severely unprofessional. No this did not happen to me, but another inside sales rep and right in front of me. How about don't hire sales people then. Sales people take these jobs to make the commission. Sales people are not accepting jobs to just to make hourly salary. I guess you can go to the bus station and hire anyone as you threaten the sales room with daily. Not to mention the whole "I hire as fast as I fire." People accept a job based on what was presented at the time you interviewed them. Inside Sales reps are told they will be paid a salary and a commission for appts set. Which is not even the case. You are later told the appointment has to happen within less than 7 days and the price has to be dropped at the home appointment. If the price is not dropped... no commission. There are so many factors and ways for them to get out of trying to pay you. It is never nice to steal money from your employees wallet... and abuse them along the way. People walk around on pins and needles there. No one deserves to work around this type of stress, under duress and in a toxic environment all day. If you would have just paid me what you owed me maybe I would not have felt a need to let the world know how you run your business and treat your employees. Two came came all the way from Allentown PA to my brothers house that is located just north of Philadelphia which is a two-story townhome. His roof was six square of shingles and a rip off of the old shingles. Their quote was $20,000! That's right $20,000! He called me immediately and I told him that even with the best shingles made you shouldn't be paying more than $4500 to $5000. He told them that they were way overpriced so these two ding dongs huddled up and then came back with an offer of $15,000 as long as he participates in their advertising campaign. We got three more quotes which were all under $5500 and we ended up paying just under $5000 for the entire project. I don't know if they're delusional or they think we are stupid but who on earth would pay $20,000 even to get a four bedroom three bathroom single home on 1 acre of ground! That would be around $7500. I don't see how they're gonna stay in business unless they really find some very uneducated people with a lot of money! Unbelievable, they tried to take advantage of my brother! I would recommend getting multiple estimates and asking your neighbors what they paid. They drove an hour and then complained about their drive when my brother told them no way! I recommend you pass this company by the obvious don't know how much any kind of construction cost. - Misleading statements and lies from the salesman. - Contract states to use CDX not CD Exposure (two similar but different types of plywood) But CD Exposure was used through out our "new roof". - Nailing the CD Exposure plywood to the existing sheathing with roofing nails. Roofing nails ! - They tried to use old delaminating plywood when I paid for new CDX plywood for sheathing. - My wife's flower bed in the front of the house was devastated. - Kitchen window screen was torn and at the same time that windows sill was dented by debris. They didn't fix or compensate this. - "New flashing would be installed between house and the porch roof" as stated in contract. It wasn't done. - " Install counter flashing INTO the brick or stone for proper seal" as stated in contract. It wasn't done. - The lack of ability for Mike (the on-site project lead) to inspect and directly lead the crew. He was in his air conditioned truck most of the time. - Other things like entering my house without permission, unplugging my security camera, thier trucks leaking alot of oil on our driveway, Having to get a car tire repaired because of a roofing nail, plus their trucks leaked lots of oil all over the driveway. I was quoted a price for a roof , the salesman said if you sign today , I can do it for this much . My girlfriend , my mother and I agreed and we signed. The salesman quoted for shingles and up to 10 sheets of plywood . , I asked for the start date , he said contract says 6-8 weeks , but we will push for 3-4 weeks. I removed the bad metal roof and put a tarp on my house . (They wanted too much to remove metal , took me 3 hrs) Roof was done 7 weeks after contract was signed 3 weeks after tarp .. but now instead of 10 sheets I needed all 45 and an additional $4750. 00 was needed , I spoke to the manager who gave me financing options. No discount and he would put a contractors lien on my house if I refused to pay.. unscrupulous company .. Roof looks good , but I felt stuck , would not recommend them , I am an electrician and I consult with my customers before making expensive decisions read more

Wish I could give a zero- they installed our bathtub/shower about 8 months ago. Noticed some water damage. We found a leak where they attached the bath tub to piping with *silicone* (which our contractor said is impossible to use with the view that they had). Masters is refusing to take any responsibility, they are saying we cannot prove it is from them (even though they did this project...). DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! This company was hired by my wife to replace a shower. Their price was Double of what I was quoted from a top-rated tile guy in the Lehigh Valley. They asked $20,000 of her. As a woman she was easily duped. They did the job, but there has been several issues. We never had a hair clog issue prior to their work, then we now have a mold issue, which we never had, & when they put the silicone on the outside, where it meets the floor, they did something wrong. It's clear on the ends, but the center is so blatantly discolored in the color of urine, it looks terrible. They claim there is Nothing they can do, & I'm stuck with it. I do NOT recommend these sloppy, lazy, shoddy workers. They were OVERPRICED, & do poor workmanship, & do not stand behind their work. We have filed with the BBB, attorney, general and civil suit. This company has not responded to any of them nor are they accepting the attempt from the constable to deliver the summons. Our experience with Masters started on 4/24/21 with our free estimate. The person who came out was polite and friendly. The first quote he gave us was absolutely ridiculous. It was over 3xs what it should have cost to replace our roof. When we said that we couldn't afford that, he was suddenly on the phone with his manager to give us a $5000 discount if we signed the contract that day. He was VERY pushy, even offering a "free vacation" if we signed that day. Eventually he ended up coming down another $3000 and we (naively) decided to go forward at this price which was about TWICE as much as we have been quoted since then by other companies. The sales pitch was good and we thought they would do a good job. We were told at that first appointment that financing was approved and we were quoted a monthly payment. We were contacted within 3 days to have someone come out and finalize the measurement for supplies to be ordered. We didn't hear from the finance dept until 5/10 with an email asking for more information for our financing to be approved. Financing was finally approved on 5/19. After that I did not hear a PEEP from them until I called them on 6/8 to find out about the status. At that time I was told that they hadn't received the final paperwork from the financing company but that since it was approved they would go forward with ordering the materials and that I should hear back within a week to schedule a date for my roof to be installed. Again NOT A PEEP from them until I called again on 6/23. I had to call twice because my first phone call was not returned. At this time I was told that our official project was approved on 6/9 (over a month from when we were first told it was approved) and that the project would be placed in "RUSH" status. I was again told that I would receive communication to schedule installation within a week. On 7/1, after not hearing from them again, I called AGAIN. I left a message and got no return call back. I then called again in the afternoon and was again placed in a voice mail, with yet another unreturned call. I am now looking for another company that will actually complete my project. Thank goodness our roof isn't leaking!  DO NOT use this company!  After our issues I have read multiple reviews online of this same situation happening with them. They are dishonest, scammers and do not care about their customers. They will quote you WELL OVER the cost and then act like they are giving you a deal. This is my first large home improvement project and I sincerely hope that there are better, more honest companies out there to work with! read more

So, trust me if you're seeing the 5 star reviews they are not legitimate. If you don't believe me, look at my contract that's attached, ("additional promo took off $1,910.00"). I can't even begin to explain every single detail of what went wrong with this horrific company. The way that BOTH Rick, as well as Nathan spoke to me is beyond words. I have every single voice mail, text and email (don't you think it's strange there aren't ANY emails listed anywhere for this company?....I had to practically beg for my communication to be done through email). You would be speechless. First I ordered my windows and a sliding door on November 9, 2020 from Keith. I was told 9-11 weeks which brings us to January 25th. I barely received any communication during this time. I started calling Rachel in "production" weekly for updates. Most times my calls would not be returned. Finally at the end of February she started telling me "next week", this went on for a month. I started reading current reviews regarding the installs being done incorrectly and them refusing to fix errors....you can read them yourself on the internet. I decided to not go through with the install since there were already so many issues with them and this is when Rick started calling me and texting me with harassing and threatening messages. I had to have the authorities involved since he would not stop contacting me. I decided to purchase the windows and door and have my own contractor install them. They FINALLY arrived on May 27, 2021 (after I was threatened numerous times how they were taking up so much "space in the warehouse.)" Well, sure enough they measured for replacement windows yet sent new construction windows. Anyone knows these are different sizes. I had to spend a lot of additional money to get these windows installed since they were the wrong size. I had to buy additional materials ($700.00 just in new trim), new window treatments (my previous ones were only 2 years old), this was supposed to be a 2 day project - I am on week 2 - just imagine that labor cost. They had to remove all of my siding (see pictures). The best part was I was told by Keith that my windows and sliding door would NEVER get condensation since I was upgrading to triple pane glass......see the pictures for the condensation. I contacted them with pictures as well as my contractors revised invoice and my additional costs and Nathan told me it's not their problem and any contractor can say something bad about another company. They have never ever taken any blame or admitted ANY wrong-doing on their part. I am hoping this honest review saves someone else the grief, stress and mental anguish of making a poor choice by going with them. PLEASE do not fall for their sales scheme. P.S. I hung up on the "calling service" that called after filling out a Home Advisor request - a very canned script - very "hard sell". They had a lot of questions and requirements unlike all others, including the my wife had to be present for them to come give a "consultation" - when all we needed was an estimate to get a roof leak repaired. For the past week, twice daily I get junk mail from "hire that chapp.com" asking me to call yet some other " service" ( not Masters directly ) to set up an appointment which is no longer required. My wife and I choose masters to handle our roof project. The gentleman who came out was very professional and a joy to have in our home. He explained all of our options to us and answered all of our questions. We got three quotes from different companies we decided that masters was the correct choice for our home. They offer a far superior product than their competitors and to be honest... just a much better outfit. The women in the finance department was one of the most lovely people and helped us get a payment that worked for. The install crew that came to us was AMAZING! The install only took one day and the crew did such an amazing job. They did an excellent job cleaning up our yard and the roof looks beautiful. 10/10! Wonderful job thank you!!! I met with 6 companies for estimates on my roofing project and not only was Master's the most sales-pitchy, ingenuine meeting I've had but they also quoted me at THREE TIMES the amount that any other company did. They will waste about 30 minutes of your time showing you a presentation on a tablet about why it makes sense they're about to over charge the **** out of you. When I was shocked by the figure of their estimate, the salesman staged a call to a coworker who could "crunch some numbers" and just like that my figure was brought down by $8,000. I called Masters to request an estimate to re-tile my shower. After talking to 3 people over a week's time explaining what I want and taking my info they finally sent two salesmen to my house. Of course that's when they tell me they don't install tile and try to sell me a prefabricated system with very little options, awful colors and drab designs. Installing their system and materials would have de-valued my home. Most of all they gave me a price that was 3 times the cost of tile but was almost cut in half by the time they walked out the door. What really had me irritated was the fact that 2 weeks later someone calls me from Masters and says there is an option for a significant price reduction in my "neighborhood." I took a half hour out of my day to explain to this person why I wouldn't want their overpriced cheap system in my house. I thought that was the end but another two weeks later they are calling me again with the same sales pitch and won't stop calling. I would suggest not to use this company. I initially had given Master's Home solutions a great review, I retract my review. (2020) Some history. Both of our bathrooms were renovated after 30 years by Masters Home solutions. We never had any issues with them. They were just old and outdated. They looked wonderful on the surface, however, there is a septic odor coming from our hall bathroom. Initially we were told that it wasn't their responsibility but with persistent phone calls they sent someone out. My husband had to help the employee remove the toilet and both discovered that the wax ring, that was originally on the toilet, was reused, so both my husband and the employee had to replace it with a new one and Masters never replaced the seals around the mounting bolts that held the toilet down. The odor persists- and now the odor is behind the wall where Masters did the plumbing work behind the panel in our Master bedroom closet. They refuse to come out and fix the issue. Now we have to call a plumber. They brag about their warranty. But once all is paid out, they do not stand behind their work. Do not allow this company to work on your home. On the surface it may look nice, but with our experience, you never know what's going on below the surface and what shortcuts have been done? We waited a long time to be able to afford to re-do our home. Saved up our money and now with the poor decision we made to go with this company, we are paying a higher price. Well after reading reviews im so glad i threw the salesman out tonight. We wanted a quote on simply replacing a shower w their vinyl walls n a shower pan. Im in sales so i could tell when they set the appt it was going to be a high pressure sales call. Guy shows up and i told him right up front im also in sales and we simply wanted the unit that was in their clipper ad and if the price was right we would move forward. I told him NO SALES PITCH. well.. after trying to scare me w his mold meter saying it was reading high so we definatley have mold behind our walls even tho my wife took a shower about 20mins before he got there which is obviously why the meter read high he created a bunch of work we didnt ask for including full mold remediation he proceeded to try to force his presentation on us to the point were i told him he was pissing me off. what did he do? still kept trying to give his pitch. i kept saying we just want the price for the shower in the ad! then he tried to lay a guilt trip on us that we said on the phone we have 60-90 mins if needed. well we did have that time but it was not needed since it all revolved around price and we knew which shower we wanted already. after arguing back and forth I finally got an idea of how high priced they were only after he demanded we tell him our budget we had planned which i readily told him to see if we were even in the same ballpark. Then he got so obnoxious cause we wouldnt let him give his computer presentation since it was obvious they wernt even close to the amount we wanted to spend I had to finally ask him to leave. Nice salesmen and gave us a thorough presentation on a new roof, but when the estimate came back at close to double what other reputable companies offered, I was lost. Cannot vouch for their work, but I was disappointed we wasted over 2 hours of our time with young children in the home so the salesguy could call his "boss" multiple times to offer me a lower price, and even lowered after I told them they were only our 2nd roof estimate and were not making a decision that day. How about giving me the estimate or price at the beginning and could've saved everyone's time and effort? If you had a good experience with them, great, but not for us. I received a call from a suspect ad for a sweepstakes I clicked on The call came from Master's Home Solutions also known on BBB as Master's Construction and Roofing. I agreed to set up a virtual meeting with the sales person and was clear up front. The meeting would be with just me, I didn't want to negotiate at all, first is only and best offer. No pressure sales tactics or managers offers or second chances. Meeting was scheduled. I had to take several photos of the outside of my house because they would not come to me to do that part of it. I had to download multiple apps to load the photos to share with them. I also had to download zoom. The meeting started and Nate and Dennis tag teamed me, starting with house compliments, then questions like who lives there or I bet your family enjoys the pool, or how many kids do you have. They were getting at just finding out what other adult lives with me. I told them my partner and they said he should be in on this meeting. I repeated its my home, my mortgage, my finances, my decision who is in this meeting. Nate left the phone, which was an excuse to 'call the sales manager to inform him they were talking with me" He is reported to have told them to reschedule the meeting when my partner could join the meeting. I ended the call saying its no one else's business who is involved in my business and they could tell the manager there is no reason to reschedule. Later, I spoke to the manager and told him the same. He responded that he would take this up with them as soon as possible, as if its just their idea to do business this way. I had their phone number so I texted back to them how poor their sale techniques are and that they wasted nearly an hour and a half of my time for this bs. Nate replied, that he spoke to the sales manager and he would be reaching out to me the following day, today with a proposal and quote for my roof project. Do these people live in a bubble and not know these techniques are predatory and insulting to any human on the other side of it. End the dog and pony show and do good work, you wont need three people to handle one proposal. Don't waste your time with these full time con artists. My husband and I set up a consultation appointment with the representative that was as the home show at Kalahari. Sales guy comes out and supposedly takes measurements and comes in and says "oh this is major work i need to contact my production department to see if they want to take on the work, but I have no service on my phone" meanwhile his phone is pinging with text messages. Made an appointment at the home show in Allentown to give me an estimate on a new roof. They called to confirm the day before and I told them I was interested in the estimate but not ready to make a decision until I get a couple more estimates. They said no problem the estimate is good for a year. Sales guy came out gave measurements and he came back with a price of over $14,000 then they start giving discounts for different things bringing the price to just over $12,000. There were other discounts they could give me but only for today so I needed to decide right now. That would bring the price down to $11,169. I explained to him that I needed to get other estimates. He made a call to his supervisor still trying to pressure me to make a decision now to get all the discounts. I said no thanks I will call them back if I decide to go with them. I got 3 more estimates all from reputable roofing companies I got from home advisor and Angie's list. The lowest one was $7,000 and the highest was $8,350. Meantime someone from Masters called me and said there were other discounts that could bring their price down even further. I said no thanks and I chose the middle estimate at $7,200 for the same exact materials and warranty. That's $4,000 less than Master's price for the same exact work. Bottom line is Master's made the transaction similar to going to a car dealer to buy a car. Their price was totally inflated and the way they conducted themselves is not desirable to me. Give me a honest contractor that will give a fair estimate without having to go through what Master's does and I will choose them anytime. read more

I had given my number to Master's at a home show a month or so ago. A guy called from Master's today and said one of their employees was in my area and could give me an estimate on windows. It has been awhile since the home show so I was a bit caught off guard by this call. I thanked them for the offer but that I didn't need an estimate at this time... I do not appreciate a company that affects your credit rating, when you tell the sales person you will be paying via check instead of financing, and they put in an application with there finance company. When we called never got a response as to why. Was not happy with the fact that "we come out when it is convenient for you" receive phone call saying they will be there in an hour on a holiday weekend. Waited around 3 hours for them to show up had to leave they showed up and start doing the gutters, was not there to see the work done, but they did it late Saturday and came back Monday to finish it. When we were told it would be done at our availability. Also got pressured to have the windows done at there availability, had to reschedule my work schedule to accommodate them. They left the wet leaves from the gutters on my lawn, along with drain pipe they did not want to take with them. Windows were done at "there convenience". After numerous calls about wanting to talk and give a review over the phone, never a phone call. Honestly not happy with the company. read more

I have a house built around 1860. Masters replaced some windows with original style windows made of excellent quality. They also replaced a flat roof over my back porch doing a very nice quality job. Since my house is so old not much is level or square requiring skilled craftsman to make everything fit right and look good. Masters has those craftsman.
